Rick’s Cabinet Tree

Ricks Cabinet tree installed my customized kitchen cabinets about 4 years ago. To my dismay, we just recently found out that the wood was infested w the worst type of insect possible: powder post beetle. I had 5 different companies come out to determine this. Each said the same thing: 1. Definitely powder post beetle 2. 10x worse than the termite 3. Not native to south florida 4. Incubation period of 5+ years 5. Most definitely residing in kitchen cabinets only 6. Came into the house w the cabinets.
I called Ricks cabinetree and told them of my situation of which «Junior» said he understood how devastated I should be. He told me he would get back to me. It took him 2 weeks to finally respond. He said that his Company was not responsible. I told him I would settle at tenting the house rather than replacing cabinets. He still refused to take any responsibility. I am appalled that this Company does NOT stand by their product. They brought the insects into my house and are now putting the rest of the wood in my NEWLY CONSTRUCTED
house at stake. They are irresponsible for not treating the wood before installing. I do not recommend this Company at all. Look elsewhere if you are in the market for new cabinets. Powder post beetle is spreads quickly and is terribly destructive. Don’t run the risk. Ricks Cabinetree will take no responsibility for their work or product.
If you look at my other reviews, I highly enjoy promoting small businesses but in this case, I would like to warn future buyers. I wouldn’t wish these powder post beetles on anybody.
