I’ve been a patient and I truly mean a PATIENT of Dr. Albite for approximately 10 years. By PATIENT I mean that one can easily spend 2 – 3 hours in his waiting room to be seen. There’s no point in making an 8 a.m. appt., the patient will not be seen until almost noon! For this to be happening for the last 10 years… something’s definitely wrong with this office’s scheduling system where they continue to overbook, possibly counting on the ones who will not show up. The ones who do show up pay the price by having to wait at least 2 – 3 hours to be seen. By behaving in this manner, Dr. Albite and his staff show total disregard and disrespect for his patients. While a portion of his patients may be stay-at-home persons or retired who have all the time in the world, another large portion continues to work or to own a business. Making someone who works wait 2, 3 or 4 hours to be seen is unconscionable and disrespectful. Is he a ‘good’ doctor? I’ll say yes but, luckily, I haven’t yet had any major medical emergencies which required his services. Does he spend a good amount of time with the patient? I can unequivocally say that in all the years I’ve been his patient he has not spent more than 10 or 15 minutes in the exam room with me. I am diabetic, he has checked my feet once in 6 years. He always appears rushed. To me, he’s not the type of doctor that’ll sit there and listen to whatever the patient feels must be discussed. I went through a very rough period recently, not wanting to take up too much of his time I briefly(and I mean BRIEFLY) mentioned to him what had occurred, he listened but provided no input. This was a major occurrence in my life, one that would sink someone weaker than I into a deep hole. Yet, Dr. Albite didn’t ask any pertinent or deep questions. To me this was like«OK, I heard this. Next!» The last time I was there in early 2012 the office still did not conduct business via email/online nor would they cooperate with Quest Labs so the patient could access lab results online. If they haven’t yet done so, it’s time for Dr. Albite’s office to get with the times and go online to provide more access to patients such as requesting or changing appointments online. A relative of mine this week visited for the first time an ophthalmologist at a large Miami practice. Everything was done beforehand online… setting the appointment, contacting the office via email, filling out all paperwork for patient information and medical history, if glasses are ordered everything related to the order of glasses can be followed up online, etc. I wish I had the time and energy to find another doctor but, this being Miami, what guarantee is there that the next one will be better or will spend more time with me or that waiting times will be shorter? Then medical records will need to be transferred and, if the new Dr. doesn’t work out, I must start the process all over again. I’m giving him 3 stars because of the loooong wait in his waiting room, his rushed demeanor and the lack of online access to his office, email, appts., Quest Labs results, etc.

I’ve been going to this doctor’s office since I was about 12 or 13 years old… Three locations later, they continue to grow and add more doctors. The wait – sucks! You can have one of the first appointments but you’ll still be waiting for a while before the doctor sees you. It’s also near close to impossible to see the main doctor. You’ll always get the second string– The good part, however, is that the second string is great as well. The doctors here take their time to explain everything to you very clearly and in layman’s terms. There’s nothing worse than waiting 2 hours to see a doctor and they rush through the 2 minute checkup. You don’t get that here! The office staff is also very friendly & responsive. If you’re looking for a new PCP, check them out. They take most health insurances.
