The jerk chicken is the best. Get the extra jerk sauce on the rice and you will be satisfied. I like the cocoa bread it was really nice. I took some home and warmed it up. You have to do it quick though as it will get old quickly.

Some of the best beef patties I’ve ever had! Always fresh and flaky and never short on meat!

I am visiting Miami from Tampa and I just happened to be lucky enough to find Banana Hut today. I tried the Conch soup and I have to say it is hands down the best Conch Soup I have ever tasted!!! Loved the vibe in this place too. Try it out!

Going to be straight up. This place is amazing. A very family oriented place and right in the corner of 152nd and 137th. The place is a bit small to eat inside so I get everything on the go. I usually go with the jerk chicken meal or the ox-tail. The prices are very fair and everything is fresh and homemade.

This is a local hole in the wall and has been in the area for as long as I can remember. The food is great in my opinion. There isn’t much room to dine-in and most of the time I haven’t but I have to say it’s definitely a great place to get some Jamaican cuisine if you live near there.

I’ve never been there so I cant comment on the actual location. I gave my card to one of my co workers who went there though and he brought be back jerk chicken. This was amazing. The food was on point. The rice was great, the amount of seasoning on the chicken was just right. I definitely want to go and check it out, and will.

Food is dry and never fresh. The prices fluctuate throughout the week and customer service is at an all time low.

I visited Banana Hut yesterday(Saturday). It was an overall okay experience. Location: This restaurant is located in a plaza all the way in Southwest Miami near the Kendall/Richmond Heights area. The plaza is not that diverse, mostly Latin/Hispanic customers all around so I was surprised to see a Jamaican restaurant smack dab in the middle of a Latin sea of patrons. Decorations/Atmosphere: There were no real decorations or ambiance to speak of. The place is small. It has a few chairs & two small tables. If you want, you can eat there but it is such a tight space, most people don’t. Customer Service: There was one middle aged man working the front counter & by the time I had arrived he had just finished assisting 3(three) people who came before me. He was not very friendly nor did he formally introduce himself so I don’t know if he was the owner or just someone who works there. Judging by the size of the place, he may have been the owner. Food: The food here is fairly priced and cheap. All of the food was sitting in warmers & had been made earlier in the day. That does not bother me one bit but I know some Unilocalers like their food made upon order. I ordered jerk chicken with rice & peas and gravy on the rice; there was also cabbage & two sweet plantains in the meal. The food was decent. The jerk seasoning was pretty good, nothing awesome but not bad. The chicken was kind of dry in the middle but it was very soft. Would I drive all the way from South Miami to beyond Richmond Heights to order food here again? Probably not very often.

The place is a hole in the wall but that doesn’t take away from the food. There are only two very small tabels to sit at and it is a tight fit so it is pretty much a takeout restaurant. You can tell that the chef-owner is very passionate about his cooking. I have only had the chance to eat here once and it was a good experience. I had the curry goat with rice. The goat was a very good portion and had a very good, curry flavor. Couple the leftover sauce with the rice and you have a delicious meal. I have had my fair share of Caribbean curry sauces in my lifetime but this was one of the better, more memorable ones. If you want to eat outside the box, I would definitely say give this place a try.

I order food all the time from here. My usual order is curry chicken with rice and side of beans and vegetables. I also tried the jerk ribs hot and spicy pretty delicious. I never ate at the restaurant because it is extremely small. There doesn’t seem to be much space only for take out. The food is always tasty and delicious. The staff is friendly. If you are trying to eat healthy this is not a place to go. That’s why i don’t eat here regularly
