Wow, hands down the worst hotel I have stayed at in many years. And I mean MANY years. In the entire history of my life I can only think of one hotel that I have stayed at that was worse than this. Seriously, this place is absolutely horrible. Everybody who works here should be ashamed of themselves. I booked on Hotwire for $ 130 a night, which is easily $ 100 more than they have any right to charge. I booked because they claim to have an airport shuttle. I called the hotel for the shuttle and was told that had just left the airport and wouldn’t be back for an hour and a half! I had to take a cab which cost me $ 42(including tip). I will be forcing somebody to reimburse me that charge. I get to the hotel and ask to speak to a manager only to be told the manager just left and wouldn’t be back until Monday(it is Friday). The guy at the front desk didn’t bother to ask what kind of bed I wanted or anything. I walked into the room and the air conditioner was set at 60 degrees. It is freezing in here and the room smells like chemicals because the A/C has been working overtime trying to cool the room to 60. The beds look like Motel 6 rejects(although I will say the linens are good), and the walls are absolutely filthy. The dresser is at least 40 years old but without the charm of being antique. The free wifi is really slow and I think it gave my computer a virus. It keeps trying to download a file that I have had to say no to 3 times already. This place is seriously atrocious and easily the most overpriced place I have ever stayed. Avoid this hotel like the plague, because if you stay here you may get it! I should have just rented a van and slept in that.

I haven’t even made it to the hotel and I would avoid this hotel. I booked because everyone else in the party told me to. Well after waiting an hour for the shuttle, calling the hotel three times and hearing different stories each time, it showed. And the van that picked us up had a driver that didn’t speak any English. Made for an interesting ride to say the least.

I wish I could give it no stars! STAYAWAY! Their airport shuttle is totally worthless. It starts at 6am and ends at 10pm. If they miss you or you are outside their shuttle hours, expect to pay $ 35 to get to the airport.

I am from Miami originally. I wanted to pick a place that wasn’t too far west(Kendall) but was still in decent driving range to other areas. I chose Baymont because it’s in Doral which is a rather decent area of Miami. The price, while a tad high, was competitive compared to some nicer areas. The staff looks uninterested and bored; no smiles to be found here. The set of keycards they gave us didn’t work and I had to replace mine the same evening of check-in. Upon first entering the room, it’s completely lifeless and ugly. The TV is a CRT(tube tv) that sits at the same level of the bed… mind you, it’s small. There’s like 1 piece of hotel art hanging on the walls. Other than that, the walls are completely bare. The room was clean and the bed was decent so I’ll grant them that. However, the A/C unit which read 60 degrees cool and on high fan was not accurate at all. The room always had a slight humidity to it and was really in the 73 – 74 range; luckily they have a ceiling fan. Water pressure in the sink was terrible. Also, WiFi is free but incredibly slow to the point of giving up. We were browsing the internet on our phones because it’s much faster. Overall, the hotel is not absolutely terrible but it’s full of many annoyances. I strongly recommend dishing out a few more dollars for something in a nicer area. On top of everything I’ve written, traffic at that intersection is awful, even at night.

I’m not a picky hotel girl. I’m from a big family and we have stayed at lots of run-of-the-mill hotels over the year. However, this was just an awful experience, and not for a cheap price. BOOKING: I called ahead and asked a few questions about the hotel — given all wrong answers I found out when I got there. The hotel also send they would send a confirmation email, which was never received. Lastly, they make you sign all this paperwork saying you can’t check out/cancel early… figures, since that was my first thought as soon as I walked into the room. STAFF: While mostly friendly, the staff at this hotel have no clue what is going on at any time of day. No matter what the question, however simple, it takes at least 20 minutes to figure things out. I’ve never waited so long to check in a room, check out of a room, or ask for dinner recommendations. Staff also does not have any change on them, which is very difficult. I asked the hotel to call a taxi(a common request) and they told me they were calling a «friend» that is a «driver» … seems a bit shady. ROOM/FACILITY: The worst. The oldest TV still out there apparently lives in Miami. The beds are the hardest I have ever laid on. And also, who still has smoking rooms? All of my clothes now smell like I smoked 2 packs… not what I was expecting. The hairdryer was also broken, so I had to check into another room to do my hair. Being from out of town, it was nice to lay by the pool, though it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in at least a month. Having Wi-fi is always a plus, though I haven’t used internet this slow since my parent’s dial-up in middle school. With exception to the airport shuttle, there is nothing convenient about this hotel. Further, I’ve paid much less than $ 144 for a MUCH nicer room. This was a huge disappointment.

Long day ended with a great hot shower, clean room, soft pillows… worth the 70 $ on orbitz…
