Conveniently located for me since I work in the area but that is the only plus for this place. Food isn’t too bad, breakfast is more doable than the lunch items, but the biggest upset is their customer service. My complaint from the very beginning has always been of the service and after mentioning it to an employee, they said they would tell management; I feel nothing really has changed. And truthfully, if management was even notified, I don’t think much would be done, especially if it’s the gentleman owner. Stay aware of their unannounced or silent up charges for your breakfast items. I’ve had on a couple of occasions, especially today, been up-charged almost a dollar more for a small combo and fruit– mind you, I purchase there almost every other day so they know me by now. After mentioning the error to the gentleman owner who was cashing me out, he said«no error, correctly charged». I then told him«no, you up-charged almost a dollar more. I paid for the same items yesterday differently and less». He then looked at me and said«no, that’s the charge it’s always been”– funny though, that’s what happened the last time with him and he silently started to raise the price. Just unfair and dishonest of them to be doing this multiple times.

BE is a great spot to get a quick lunch bite and not drain your bank account.(Great for students coming in to MDC Wolfson on the train) Made fresh to order. What more could you want? The pizzas are my favorites. Oh and they do breakfast too!

DOWNTOWNLUNCHSPOT On those wet weather days or when short on time between meetings, BE is a viable convenient eatery. They’re in the same building as my office. Nothing fancy and nothing that will empty your wallet. Freshly made pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches aren’t Brickell gourmet but sufficiently flavorable and nourishing. Hardy hot breakfast menu items for less than $ 5 will sustain a normal sized person uuntil it’s time for lunch. Plenty of security to deflect table squatters. Located on the ground floor, mezzanine and 18th floor. Cortadito on the 18th is exceptional both in smoothness, strength and best of all price.

Oh noes! I walk by this … establishment; I can’t really call this a restaurant or fast food, it’s not either… every day and quite frankly, I’ve always ignored it. Now, I have further reason to ignore this place. When you walk in, it’s a little confusing. It has a feel of an elementary school cafeteria. You have four ‘stations’ that cover a wide culinary selection, pizza/pasta, salads, hot sandwiches, and Hispanic food. Fair enough in my eyes. Not in the mood for ¾ of the options, I went with the hot sandwich station. Notably, the hot sandwich station had a healthy line, so I figured that it would be the best and most popular option. Soon did I find out that the reason why it was full was that the cooking process was extremely long causing a backup. Dang. Fast forward, I ordered a Philly(cheese) steak sandwich and steak quesadillas(two different dishes). The steak sandwich was bland and flavorless. Very odd. Everything that should be there was there, but it didn’t have flavor. The cheese was empty. The(green) peppers didn’t have flavor. The meat. well. was there, but flavorless. Flop. Big time. The steak quesadilla was better. Not by much, but it was better. I ordered them with wheat wrapping. Considering that it seems to me that they were the same ingredients as the aforementioned steak sandwich, there was about par for the flavor. Bottom Line: I wonder how they are still operating!

I have fond(and not so fond) memories of the old Government Center food court, particularly when i’d skip class. mmm I mean get dismissed early and I’d head to Downtown. There was a messy smörgåsbord of culinary fast food variety. OK I passed History awhile back! The current food court is closed in and a lot more organized. There are different food stations for pizza, sandwiches and desserts and a couple of premade salads and sandwiches. I recently stopped by and had a yogurt parfait. Portion size was adequate, but nothing to write a creative Unilocal about. Food was the definition of 3 stars: OK, it’ll work for a quick lunch at Government Center.

As I stopped off at Government Center my nose picked up a scent.. . and from the growl of my stomach, I knew I had to feed it soon. :sniff, sniff: A-ha! Found it! Bottega Express! Hot food and coffee! Unless you need to go to the Gov’t Center located in Downtown MIA, you probably don’t know that this place exist. But! My nose found it! The cook makes your breakfast right in front of you on the hot griddle, my fav English Muffin with ham, egg, and cheese along with a tasty Café con Leche! For those of you who happen to arrive with a more ravenous appetite, there’s the option of buying the«BIG» breakfast, different choices of grits, sausages, bacon, and the works in a big box just for your taste buds! And most importantly, all this can be eaten on a tight budget.
