Price/Value: Standard for Industry Management/Service: Watch Out! They are sharks. Courtesy is not in their vocabulary and they are definitely downright underhanded in their own interest of making a buck. I say this as a conclusion of multiple interactions, instances, determinations over a two year span(mostly minor but this last one takes the cake). As an example of their latest antics: My boss rents a storage unit with them(has had the unit for 2+ years). He has the storage unit set up on auto-pay to deduct from his checking account. Someone hacked his checking account last week and, so he had to close his account and set up a new one. He delegates me the task of calling all of his other accounts that auto deduct from his checking and he listed Brickell Xtra Storage on my list. So I call them ask the gentleman who answered to assist me in updating the bank account information for auto-pay on my boss’s unit, explaining the situation to him. He looked into the account and told me that my boss doesn’t have auto pay and that he sends payment in every month. And furthermore my boss was completely paid up to date so there was nothing to even process at that time. I asked him to double check, because I had the storage unit on my list of bank-account tied accounts. He insisted that there was not auto pay in place and that payment was current. Today we get a letter in the mail, saying the last payment was rejected due to a frozen account. That we would be locked out of the storage unit until we paid the balance owed. I called and the same gentleman answered the phone. I explained that I had called last week, what I was told, and that now I had a letter and I needed to get this up to date and paid. He said, there was not bank account in place because he himself canceled it when it showed it was frozen. I told him that was not what he told me last week. He said that yes, last week he told me there was no bank account auto pay in place. But that’s because he cancelled it. I asked him if the account was frozen, prompting him to cancel the auto-pay, why did he then tell me my boss’ account was up to date. He said because he thought the payment went through. ??? So I said whatever, okay let me settle what we owe. He then tried to tack on a late fee because as of yesterday it was past due. I reiterated that I called last week to take care of this and was told there was nothing to be taken care of. He said it’s still late now so he won’t remove the charge, and he sent us a letter as to avoid this. I told him the letter only arrived today, hence the reason for my call. As I calmly debated this with him, he began to grow hostile and even accusatory, saying«Well I don’t have any notes that you called». I asked him how his note-taking system was any of my responsibility. He was basing his denial of the late fee removal on the fact that he didn’t have notes. Not my problem. And then he asked me who I spoke to last week. I told him it was him. He denied it. I reminded him that earlier in the conversation he admitted that I spoke to him last week, because he just told me he personally cancelled the autopay and told me last week that there was no autopay. See how his lies shine through! He was still stuck on the lack of «notes» on my call. I told him I would be happy to have the IT department pull the call log to submit for proof. He said anyway, I shouldn’t have waited until it was late to call. I AGAIN reminded him I called last week. MAN these circles are exhausting! At this point my boss got on the phone with him. The guy still refused to take off the late fee. The fee wasn’t much, but it was unwarranted, sneaky, and a matter of principle. After over 2 years of business, dozens of referrals(in the beginning), and a zero-late-payment history, the guy was holding tight to his late fee. This tells you exactly how your business will be valued. Furthermore, beware, for if there is any leeway for them to trick you out of your money THEYWILL.
