I wanted this place to be a hidden gem, we first walked in and were sat down immediately. Our drink order was taken, and brought quickly, as we sat there sipping our drinks ants started crawling all over the table, we asked to move, the new table did not have ants. Next we placed our food order, my husband asked if the chicken salad special had nuts, the waitress didn’t know so my husband said«if it has nuts I will order something else», she came back to the table and said there were no buts so he ordered it, I ordered the French onion soup. Our food came, the soup was good, a little oily but but good flavor and a very nice helping of cheese which I love! My husbands sandwich however had nuts in the chicken salad, I am happy he just doesn’t like nuts and that he doesn’t have an allergic reaction, the waitress could have killed someone by being lazy in knowing or at least asking the chef what the ingredients are, I gave this place only 1 star since our first table had ants all over it and also because of the lack of service I felt we got while placing our order.

I so wanted this to be a good foodie experience. I remember coming here as a child and it was a marvel sitting there among the antiques… We decided to go for brunch on a Saturday morning after wandering about the grounds. We arrived right before noon and there were a few tables enjoying their breakfast but we were told they would not be seating any more people for 15 minutes. So we sat… And waited… So it wasn’t a great start to our meal. Once we sat it took another 12 minutes for our order to be taken. The ambience was a little stuffy and the excitement that was once surrounding a ‘tea room lunch’ was decidedly lacking. The eggs Benedict with salmon Was perfectly cooked but the accompanying home fries were over cooked and tasted slightly of burnt pan. The tea was served piping hot but after an hour and a half of lunch time spent we had to leave for an appointment which involved us getting up from the table to hunt down the server to get our check. We found her making tea– a process that apparently takes a very long time. I wish we didn’t have to leave so we might have enjoyed it. I can’t recommend this place. I’m in no hurry to return. An overall disappointing experience.

The Tea Room was quaint and very cozy. When you walk in there are about 3 different rooms where you can be sat to eat in, the room we were in was adorable. Every table had different tea sets, plates, cups and even chairs. It was very vintage and old fashioned looking. Our waitress was really nice, and the food was delicious! I had the mango peach tea, cold, and I’m not too crazy about tea but it was good and I would definitely get it again. There were even hats and boas to try on for fun on our way out of the room, so we definitely took that to our advantage! I definitely plan on returning and trying some more tea and food off the menu. I recommend this place if you the looking for a relaxing afternoon and looming to try something simple and different.

Very charming place that will probably remind you of your grandma’s house. Adorable themed rooms make for a very quiet atmosphere that is perfect for conversation. Our waiter didn’t know the menu or what a cappuccino was but she said she was new so perhaps that’s not typical. The food was good and it was very fun to sip tea from fancy tea cups in such an appropriate setting. The area around the restaurant is also very interesting so plan on walking around a bit.

I went for the very first time this weekend for a bridal shower and I absolutely fell in love. Everything about it was perfect. It felt like I was visiting another era. Everything is dainty and so quaint. I can’t wait to visit here again.

Cauley Square Tea Room. Talk about having a «WTF moment». I was driving way down south on Dixie Hwy on Saturday afternoon. I spot Cauley Square and I should out«WTF»! A little whimsical village suddenly appears between the fields of nothing and strip malls along the busy road. I cut a hard right turn and I’m transported into another dimension. Large skyscraper trees shade the entire area and white twinkle lights are strung from branch to branch. I see art galleries, quaint shops and a jazz band setting up off in the distance for an upcoming wedding. I spot the tea room and I squeal with delight. I call up a friend and we meet for lunch. The inside of the tea room is as cute as could be — lots of antique furniture and vintage photos line the walls. Waitresses scurry about with fancy glass pitchers pouring lemonade. Giggles from a bridal shower emerge from one of the many dining rooms. The menu is fairly simple — quiche, salads, burgers, finger sandwiches, wraps. Instead of choosing one sandwich, I decided to go with the finger sandwich sampler which includes tuna, egg salad, chicken salad and roasted zucchini mini sandwiches. My all time favorite French onion soup accompanies my dish. The soup is standard rich broth with a piece of baguette floating under a thick layer of baked cheese –YUM. My friend orders the burger and seems pleased. Overall the food is good, but I would love to see some more adventurous options instead of the traditional lunch options. Unfortunately due to the bridal shower the service was very slow. Our servers were very nice and apologetic, but they seemed understaffed and a bit overwhelmed. Not the end of the world. Next time I find myself in this neck of the woods, I’ll be sure to stop in again and try the quiche and shop for some art in the square. I’ll bring my fancy British high tea hat!

I’ve been here twice using the Groupon tea party for two: once in June and again in October. When I called in June for the reservations, I was told they needed an hour’s notice to prepare the tea party. That was a weekday afternoon and when we arrived, the air conditioning was not working. We had tea, our choice of champagne or mimosas, french onion soup, tea sandwiches, scones and pastries, and cookies. Even though the meal itself took well over an hour and a half from the time we sat down(we were one of two tables occupied), coupled with the AC issues, we enjoyed ourselves enough for me to want to return so I purchased a second Groupon. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I called on a weekday morning to see if I could make a reservation that same day at lunchtime. I was now told that they needed a 24 hour notice for all Groupon reservations. I subsequently called back at the beginning of October when I knew we had a weekend free. I was told that the only reservation they had available was for noon on the Saturday I was looking at. Not a problem, as we were flexible. My main issue came when I was told that I needed to provide them with the Groupon voucher number because if I failed to show up without giving ample notice, or if I showed up late, my Groupon would be redeemed. Being that I was desperate to redeem the Groupon because it was expiring, I complied but I have to say enabling a practice like this is downright tasteless. When we arrived, I expected to find the restaurant packed as we were told they could only accommodate us at a certain time. Nope — we were one of three tables dining. The AC was working which was awesome. Our server was not only the server, she was also the hostess, and the busser. I immediately noticed that my water glass had lipstick on it and swapped it with a table behind me so I wouldn’t have to make the server work harder than she already was. We then noticed that the second water glass was dirty so we decided to notify the server. She then went to another table to find a clean glass. After a few tries she was successful. We sat down around 11:50 and by 12:20, we had only been given tea. We found another employee who then ensured we promptly got our soups, sandwiches, quiches and pastries. For requiring a 24 hour notice and signing my Groupon life away, I expected this meal to be phenomenal. It fell way short. The soups we ordered were tasty(lentil and split pea) but I was disappointed that you now need to pay extra for the french onion soup; this was included the first time I dined here. When the tier of food came to the table, It was clear that the quiches were pre-prepped and just reheated in a microwave, further making me question why the stringent rules when it comes to reservations. One of the sandwiches we received had smoked salmon on it and it was clear by the smell and taste that it was not fresh. The frugalness of the owner by mandating all of these«rules» for customers using Groupon was a complete turn-off. The tea room clearly needs the business and Groupon could be a way to successfully market your business and get word out there. Unfortunately for them, it’s in a negative way. Side note but worth mentioning, I went to use the restroom shortly after we arrived. The ladies restroom had no toilet paper. The restaurant had only been open for an hour by the time I used the facilities and should have been impeccable and fully stocked for the day. Especially given the lack of traffic in the restaurant. I appreciated the touch of putting a hand salt scrub next to the sink but I would have much rather toilet paper.

My friends and I went on a Groupon for one of the ladies’ birthday. The waitress we had was not very knowledgeable about the menu and took over 20 minutes to get water and 20 more to settle our bill. The food was nice but thought with a «tea party» we would have been able to sample more teas not just the one we originally picked out. Will think twice about going back.

thanks to my better half’s suggestion through careful research, we came to check out this place and what a wonderful gem of a find! it’s located inside this wonderful old world nostalgia block of wonderland called cauley square(US1&224 St) in the middle of a modernized industrial society all around… this one is a must do! travel back in time and find yourself looking at all that adorns every nook and cranny of this wonderful place! they have this spiced home-made tea infused w lemonade served hot that you must try! I mixed mine w hot jasmine tea and it was awesome. we ordered spinach eggs benedict but you can substitute the spinach w ham, turkey or smoked salmon to your liking plus a side of home fries, oatmeal, or fruits. the food was good and the service was great. noelia was our server and she was attentive and helpful in every aspect even though the place got packed towards the end of our meal. the restroom is nice and overall clean and even had a full sized mirror by the door on the way to help make sure you look your best before heading back out to your table. the place is full of interesting nostalgia and even old style singer sewing machines repurposed as side tray tables and even dining tables for two. if you happen to sit in a smaller table for two be sure to look under the linen! i am not much for old style china and décor but even a minimalist will find this place interesting and humbling so come in and have a cup of hot tea and enjoy a sandwich or hot meal! cheers!

My hubby had been asking me to take him to a «romantic» restaurant and I chose this one! He was very happy with it! Place is very nicely decorated with antique furniture and items. They have several separate rooms so it’s a great place to host parties. We had a groupon that was for lunch for 2. We had the french onion soup which we were told if made freshly each day! It was delicious!!! We had mimosas, different finger sanwiches some made of cream cheese and salmon, egg salad, cucomber, ham and cheese, grilled veggies, we had muffins and scones. They had a good selection of teas but could add more and some home brewed ones to their list. All was very good! We were very lucky that besides having a great meal we had great service by Noelia! After lunch we walked around the area and found nice stores and art galleries!

On a Thursday afternoon my wonderful mother invited me over to Cauley Square’s Tea Room for some late lunch. We made a reservation for 2pm for a simple tea party. The hostess gave us a call 15 minutes prior to remind us about it, which was very sweet. When we arrived, I was taken aback by the beautiful building. It is just so cute outside, and even better inside. The decorations create a really nice, intimate setting. The ambience is quiet and makes you feel very much a home. As soon as we came inside, our table was already ready and set up for us. When we sat, our waitress immediately filled our water cups and warmed up the water for our tea. Once the water was ready, she came with a box to let us choose our tea bags. After that, we were served a plate of a delicious, warm split pea soup. Even though I do not like soup, it was very rich and I very much enjoyed it. About 15 minutes after the soup, our finger sandwiches arrived with scones and four slices of quiche. The quiche was very good, but too salty for my taste. Though, the sandwiches and the scones were absolutely delicious! So moist and soft. I think I will be dreaming about those scones! This place is definitely an experience, and I really loved all the details. The food is actually really good and I loved the quiet ambience. However, though the service is really attentive and friendly it can be a bit slow. As well, I was a bit disappointed that they do not actually brew their own tea being a tea house. Regardless, it was a wonderful afternoon with he number one woman in my life! By the way, on the way out I caught glimpse of a huge, fudgey chocolate cake. I most definitely will be back to try a slice!

I fell in love with this tea room! Great experience and the staff is wonderful. We had the high tea tiers and it was delicious! Plenty to share for our table of five and the food was served on time and absolutely scrumptious! I can’t rave enough about this place. But come early! Our reservation was for 11:30 am and no one was there which was nice since we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

I’ve been to this place any times over the years. I went on Saturday with my sister and was so disappointed in the food and the service. We were told by our waitress that another company had bought them out and that’s why their menu had changed some. For some reason offering a hamburger in a tea room just doesn’t seem right! We ordered a chicken salad croissant. I think they made one sandwich, cut it in half and put half on each of our plates. The service was so slow that when it came time for us to get our check, I actually got up to go searching for our waitress. And the place wasn’t even busy. Glad I went since we were planning on doing our Mother’s Day celebration there. Not going to happen

I had a delicious lunch here today. The place doesn’t look like a great restaurant from the outside. Inside it is decorated tip to toe in Victorian patterns and artifacts. The food was really well prepared and very fresh. The French fries were one of the best I ever had. The piece of chocolate cake I ordered was very fudgy, really big piece, and came with a side of whipped cream. I would have given this Tea House five stars if there were more than two kinds of tea available. Nevertheless, I recommend this place for lunch because the food was great and the menu had a good mixture of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian selections. After lunch, walk down the street to visit the artist shops, they have some innovative and inexpensive items.
