Bad service and bad food — doesn’t get any worse than that. Our waitress’s name was jhosel and as soon as she took our order and realize we were ordering one meal to share, her mood completely changed. She said «only one meal», rolled her eyes and turned around! She didn’t bring us silverware or plates, and when we asked her — she was bothered by it. The food was not like the other fogatas at all. The steak taste like it was previously frozen. No flavor. The plantains were not cooked throughly.
I don’t recommend this location at all.

Was in town on Business. I and two Associates had dinner first night, the food was so good we hit it a second night and where totally impressed.

With my girlfriend, we arrived on a Friday night one hour before closing time, both displayed at door and Unilocal.As soon as we sat, a gentleman said to «hurry up and order, the kitchen is closing». Bad
When we asked for «tostones», they don’t make them.
It is also displayed all over Unilocal and their menu pictures. Bad
The food was good, well cooked, just bad service.

You know what they say. Sometimes the smaller places are full of surprises! I’m a sucker for surprises such as this little gem. I was craving steak and had been wanting to come here because I love me some good old Nica food. Well– they did not disappoint.
The place is just the right size, not too big or small. The staff goes above and beyond to make the experience as good as it gets. They explain the menu without rushing and look very professional in their uniforms.
4 of us had baby churrasco with a mix of Gallo pinto, mashed potatoes, fries, salad. The steak practically melted in your mouth. Cooked as ordered and with the chimichurri — it was divine! We also tried some of their fresh juices, fried cheese and finished with the pio quinto. Absolutely delish.
Here is what really got me. My mom ordered ribs, she didn’t like them so they very quickly apologized and got her something else which she loved. We didn’t get charged for the replacement meal or dessert and we got a card for a discount on the next time we go. I wasn’t expecting all that– we really just wanted to order something different and that’s it, so they really impressed me with the way they handled it.
I may have just found a new place to take care of my steak cravings. Can’t wait to go back!

They had me at «QUESO FRITO.» It was one of the best queso fritos i have ever eaten, mostly because it wasn’t coated in a super think layer of grease that kick starts my heartburn just by looking at it. It was nice and dry, and with just the right amount of saltiness from the cheese. Great start to the meal.
For the entrée, we had the churrasco and the churrasco/​chicken combo and both of them were really nicely seasoned and cooked. The meat was a little overdone, but not enough to ruin the meal becuase it was super juicy.
The service is ok. We were the only ones in the restaurant and I still had to flag people down for ordering, but they were very polite otherwise.
It is a little pricey, but worth it.

Amazing food. The Skirt steak was tender and well done as I asked, this is a rarity in chain restaurants! Taste was on point and service was warm & friendly. I see myself returning with family and friends.

My parents went here for lunch and they seemed to like it but when they brought me back the grilled fish fillet it was slimy and tasted weird… Tried to cook it again and was still weird. I don’t think the fish was fresh at all. Totally turned off about this place.

I highly recommend this place for its food and service. The service is quick and everyone there is very pleasant. They have a really good lunch menu with delicious food and reasonably priced.

The food is pretty good but for the price it’s not. If you want Nicaraguan food just go to your mom and pop restaurant and spend 10 bucks and feed 2 people!

The last time before my recent visit to this place I did not have such a good experience, portions were small and the A/​C was cracking that my food turned cold. Recently, my husband told me to give them another shot and so we did. What a turn around, I’m not sure if there was a change in management but portions were good and the steaks were cooked to our request. I do recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a nice meal when around the area and don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for steak ($ 12-​$ 20). Kudos to management for the positive change!

Food is Delish! But I went there and my tostones we raw in the center (to me was not a problem) and I expected them to bring new ones. Instead they stuck them back in the fryer and brought the same ones back that I had already bit. So my bit tostones went into the fryer and everyone else is using the same oil. Yuk!!! So dirty and wrong according to the health inspector.

The best costumer service, the quality, quantity of each dish its perfect and the prices are really fair for what you get.
I recommend this place 100%, the manager Paola very efficient and pays attention to every costumer. I’ll come back for sure.

This is my go to place for protein after a workout. Good flavor on their steaks, and they do a good job on their fish.
Their steaks are a little better than Outback, for a frame of reference. Not steakhouse quality, but better than chain.
The Pros
1) Can be healthy. Want a lean piece of meat and a carb? They can do it. I hate ordering a piece of fish, and it coming out covered in butter. This place just grills what you want.
2) Tasty fish, and good steak.
3) Quick. I order at 9:15, and my steak is good to go at 9:30. Perfect for after a late workout.
The cons
1) I’ve had mixed experiences with the staff. A few times they’ve been good, a few times they’ve been crappy. So it’s a mixed bag. The older servers have been good constantly, though. So I guess it’s just the younger kids?
2) Parking. Sometimes it’s a fight to get in and out of here, even on off hours. Hazards of a strip center restaurant.
3) a little pricey. A dinner will run you around $ 15 (+/​-​$ 2) per person.

I wanted a quick steak lunch and didn’t want to have to go somewhere fancy. This place was great. Service was very nice and quick. The food was good. Had a shrimp cocktail, steak and house salad. All reasonably priced.

I asked about this place to the hotel staff, and she said she wasnt sure why this place had low rating. When i went there, there were a lot of people (and why so little reviews, im not sure), and it had pretty good food. I ordered beef, chicken and shrimp. Shrimp was meh, but beef and chicken was really good.
as the traffic jam in miami is horrible, this place being only 2 miles away (and it still took us over 10 minutes to get there) it was pretty close to good central american food as what we can have in miami downtown, so i was happy.

Great place for lunch and good prices. Got pick up today. Had the baby churrasco with Gallo pinto and maduros. It was my first time at this location and I enjoyed it much more than when I went to the other location in town&country.

We went here a few weeks ago on a Friday night. The food was excellent. The service was on point. We arrived during their happy hour, nice surprise $ 3 glasses of wine, with a very heavy pour. The steak was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. This restaurant has it all we will definitely be back. It is close to Sergios which I have been to several times before Charcoals had opened. I can’t think of any reason to go back to sergios with Charcoals so close and so much better in quality and price.

Wow! Just when I was throwing in the towel on Nicaraguan food Charcoal completely changed my mind. You wouldn’t expect such great food from the looks on the outside, you also would expect it to be so big. We were pleasantly surprised with everything! Smart business tactic by the owners not naming it your typical «Nica Name» otherwise people might not be willing to give it a try.
We started with some Hawaiian Tostones & Queso frito, Excellent!
I know there’s not much to say about chicken but their grilled chicken breast was AMAZINGLY TENDER & DELICIOUS! The Gallo pinto was perfect as was their perfectly cooked plantains.
The baby churrasco was flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. The service was very professional and friendly. It’s a pretty big place with mostly booths but plenty of tables. The prices are very reasonable and there’s plenty to choose from on the menu.

Omg. the food was soooo good. I ordered online on New year’s day. My husband went to pick up the food and everything was ready for pick up minus the dessert I ordered. They ran out of tres leches so for the inconvenience they gave me a free dessert. very thoughtful. The food was cooked to perfection. in all honesty. way better than Sergios around the corner. So glad they opened down the street. we will be ordering from them again soon!!!

Great food as the charcoals in the Palms at town n country. Service was great as well. Very attentive.
I ordered the Baby Churrasco with Gallo pinto, tostones, the steak was delicious, cooked to perfection.
It was empty which it made me feel sorry for them as they are right next to Sergio’s restaurant; however, I definetely think that Charcoals has better food.
Will definetely be going back with my entire family.
I recommend this place for sure, is in a good location. Plenty of parking, great tasting food, great service. Can’t go wrong!
