Nice décor, good food but extremely rude staff. The hostesses were horrible! One would seat us on table for the other one to rudely say we could not seat on that table! We would try to explain that the other one just sat us there! We would get visibly upset and they couldn’t care less! They definitely make sure you do not feel welcomed!

Beware of added charges, while waiting for a dinner date I had a glass of wine at the bar, when date showed up I closed that tap to have dinner inside. I was charger $ 18 for one glass plus service charge. I left $ 26 to include tip then at dinner the waiter add a second bottle to my dinner bill that I did Not order or even got. Then another customer told me that the Happy Wines are $ 8 not $ 18. Our waiter agree when I told him about the added wine bottle. This place is too hungry for extra money!!! Not going back!

This restaurant had potential the outside and inside décor is really nice plus the music it plays… but the service and food sucks. Again the service SUCKS! I came here for a special event(Savor Tonight Happy Hour at Coya June 14, 2016) I barely got the drink that supposedly came with what we paid for and we practically had to be after the waiter to bring us the appetizers that was included in what we paid for. We got 2 out of the 3 appetizers we never got to try the ceviche. It took 20 min to get our drinks plus 20 min to get our bill for an order of guacamole and tortilla that we ordered which by the way it wasn’t worth the calories, time, money, or even the effort to hound a waiter to just order it. In total we spent 1hr and 50 min at the restaurant out of that we spent half of the time waiting to get served, approached, and place order. I DON’T RECOMMENDTHISPLACE! Thank goodness I didn’t come with more friends and coworkers. I spent a total of $ 33 for 2 drinks and 2 small personal appetizers. Besides the service being horrible and food below average the prices for the extra small serving is ridiculous. You will spend an arm and leg in whatever you order and still not be satisfied.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at Coya. While the food and drinks were quite good, service was terrible. It was quite uncomfortable to have the waiter pressuring us to order more food, overly emphasizing how small the dishes were. The latter, even after we mentioned to him several times that we wanted to start by sampling appetizers(we ordered 5 for 3 people) while enjoying drinks and chatting. The idea was to order the main courses and desserts later. I indicated to him that it was a business dinner(as mentioned in my reservation). He showed clear dissatisfaction with our order. To make things worse, whoever was in charge of the music kept increasing the volume with a night club style music, turning an pleasant environment in an elegant restaurant into a bizarre atmosphere. We asked several times to kindly lower the volume, which somebody did for about 10 minutes and then the volume was raised yet again. It was embarrassing experience for me. Having enjoyed Coya London several times I trusted the Miami location would be a great choice for a VIP casual business dinner. But, after finishing the appetizers(we ordered 2 more plates) and drinks, I had to ask for the billI and took my two(disappointed) VIP guests to another restaurant.

What a great dining experience. Beautiful place. Great music, gorgeous bar area. Tried a bunch of appetizers all delicious. Too many to list. Also had the tamarind ribs. They were awesome! The chocolate lava cake for desert was outstanding. Our server was excellent! Very informative. All in all would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return.

Came here for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful time! Love the décor and feel of the place. Absolutely lovely! When you walk in it kind of reminds me of Komodo with the plants and orchids. Food was very good, however, I did not like the ceviche dish at all, which is their specialty. It had zero flavor. The unlimited champagne we paid for was great, the service was stellar and dessert was amazing! Other dishes I enjoyed were the pork belly and the mushroom tapas and their take on chicken and waffles was delish! The stand out dish though was definitely Arroz Nikkei. overall it was a very yummy brunch. They also had a DJ playing, which added a Sunday Funday vibe to the place. Definitely a place to check out!

Their happy hour is amazing! From the salmon tacos to the patatas a la peruana, we also had the camarón which was ok, would’ve better if it had some kind of sauce on them, had a pisco sour which was good, they have valet parking for $ 10 which is not bad for brickell area. great atmosphere all around

I’ve been to Coya a couple of times for drinks and I had the chance to try their dinner a day before their 1 year anniversary! I heard a lot of great things from friends so I was excited to see how it measured up! Upon arriving we were warmly greeted by the hostess and then escorted into their«members only» room. There was a live band playing inside which was a bit of a mood killer for us since it was extremely loud and we were both expecting more of an intimate vibe rather than a Cuban dance club. The décor in the place is very unique and there’s a lot of detail that went into everything. With that being said, even the furniture was different and the table we sat in was super low to the ground so I found myself a little uncomfortable with my knees hiked up higher than my waist. We ordered the appetizer blue crab rollito off the new bites menu and expected something different, but instead received a sushi roll with crab in it. It was boring and uncreative. If I wanted sushi, I would’ve went to a Japanese restaurant. Three stars for the roll. We also had the Cobia Peruvian sashimi which was nice because the sauce was different and had a hint of truffle oil in it. The presentation was great with contrasting colors to really brighten the white sauce up. The best part of the meal was the Chilean Sea Bass. Flaky and melted in your mouth and marinated in a sweet Mirin-like coating. Excellent! And lastly was the lobster rice which was tasty and tender but the rice itself was a little undercooked so it was on the hard side. Overall a good meal. It’s just not as impressive as other restaurants.

I have been to Coya for dinner a few times and I must say the experience has always been great. Food is extremely tasty and the service is also impressive. This time I decided to go for brunch for the 1st time with a local discount coupon that if you really want to find is easy to get. The special was a $ 75 Brunch for two including an appetizer, main plate, desert and valet parking. NOTE: Tip and Taxes are not included so bring some cash or you CC to pay the difference. We went as a group of 8 people. At first the brunch menu was a bit confusing stating that you get 1 appetizer, 1 main course and desert per person. We wanted to try out all of the selections they had on the appetizers but everyone wanted the same thing. Everyone got the corn appetizer(Which you must try it is excellent) and I thought we would all be stuck with that. What we later found out is they bring out all of the appetizers on the menu for everyone to eat and increase the serving size depending on how many people are at the table. GREAT!, we tried all of them and they were incredible. Included with the coupon was a nice selection of main courses. My favorite dish the«Nikkei Fish» was available but had an upcharge of $ 10. Of course I am going to pay the upcharge but you have many others in the regular brunch menu that was very tasty. Desert cam around and just like in the appetizers, we have a few to select from. Again Coya is a fantastic place to eat, but be warned that it will be pricy if you don’t come on a coupon special. Enjoy!

This is the definition of a five star establishment. The service, the ambience, and most importantly, the food, were all first class. Located in the heart of Brickell, I was expecting a nice, upscale restaurant, but Coya blew my expectations out of the water. Due to construction around the Brickell area and my inability to find the restaurant(doh!) I arrived a few minutes late for my reservation. Not only did the hostess give me directions to the restaurant, she also assured me that my reservation was safe. The restaurant was somewhat empty when I arrived at 7:30, but as time passed, people slowly funneled in. It is a relatively large restaurant so don’t be shy to bring large parties, although I presume you will need reservations. My party of 4 ordered SO much food, so bear with me as I describe all my dishes. Coya is a tapas style, Peruvian inspired restaurant. They split their menu into cold appetizers, hot appetizers, fried appetizers, meat and poultry, seafood, and cazuelas(pots of risotto with whatever ingredients are included in the dish). We ordered the calamari, beef empanadas, rock shrimp, crab/avocado roll, atun arroz crocante(raw tuna over a block of crispy fried rice), pork belly, sea bass cazuela, and short rib. But wait, there’s more. Because they didn’t have the sundae de maiz that we were recommended to order by friends, we ordered the chocolate fundido and caramelo con chocolate for dessert. Yes, we needed wheelbarrows to leave the restaurant. Honestly, every time a dish was finished, we looked at each other and said«that was amazing». This is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Miami. Though pretty pricey, it is a great restaurant for special occasions or splurging. The quality of food, amazing service, and wonderful atmosphere of the restaurant is definitely worth the price point for this restaurant.

well… This review can be pretty horrible, and I hate to say something negative about anywhere I go! But this place deserves it. As i walk in to meet my partner, sitting at the bar he ordered a drink & it seemed perfect! No doubt. I didnt order till we sat at the drink, just because i was ready to order an app from how hungry I was! Ok. That being said — after ordering a Pisco Sour(there special Peruvian drink) it never got to me. Well maybe after 1 time of asking where it was, and 15 mins on top. Terrible!!! Appetizers were brought before my drink even made it to the table. Person I was dining with didn’t crave to even ask for his second cocktail. For appetizers, we ordered the yellowtail tiradito with ceviche … aH mazing!!! So delicious, and every bite was tasteful. Dinner: ordered the spicy steak(medium) with broccoli and potatoes are our side, once again it was great! — no water was served(since the 1st one) no follow up on how i liked my drink nor entrees, it was just so terrible. Mind you, were both in the hospitality industry & I must say It was quite an experience. We then get fustrated at staying over the people sitting next to us, to find where this waiter was(which we never even got his name, due to his poor introduction) that we decided to get up & just walk away to the bar to have a drink. As 10 minutes past, he finally«finds us». Has no audacity to even ask how was our finale at his table, nor if desert or coffee was in mind. All in All, i will return maybe to savor their yummy food — but service needs 100 percent be acknowledged by someone. Oh and to the bartender, nice makeout session with the girl next to us!(Pretty gross, while on duty)

This restaurant is more about the scene than the food. Don’t go expecting great food. You can find better Peruvian in Miami. Service is rushed. My husband was still eating when they tried to take away his plate. The emphasis here is to turn tables. We were out in 45 minutes with given the prices they charge the meal should be paced much slower.

Food was really well made. Not really authentic Peruvian but more like Peruvian inspired. We ordered a bunch of plates. Ceviche was nice but not the best. The tiradito Pez Limon was fantastic, we liked it so much that we ordered a second plate of it. The rib eye was delicious. The cocktail are well crafted, the empanadas were yummy, specially the chimichurri sauce they come with. I cannot recall the rest of our places but we did like everything and were very satisfied. Even the dessert was yummy even though i was too full to have dessert, but i had to try it. Service was great and friendly and as always the venue is spectacularly designed and decorated. Expect to pay a pretty penny. Looking forward to trying their London location.

Sorry Coya, but my last visit was not as nice as I expected. Of course, coya is still beautiful as always but the food and the service felt short. Upon arrival, our waiter came to get our order, brought our drinks… and then we waited for about 30 minutes… no food… while we saw the table next to us being showered with attention not only by the manager but by 2 or 3 different waiters… ours …nothing. After some time, our waiter came to apologize she had forgotten to place our order in the system … really? then the food… the ceviche was ok. a bit bland for my taste… the causitas were also just ok. the grilled octopus was fresh and the shrimp and beef anticuchos were grilled right… but none of the dishes really stood out for me. The portions are quite small for such a high price and sad to see the manager although seemed quite attentive to the table next to us; didn’t even bother to come to ours once to ask how our service was going. Such obvious favoritism is quite tacky especially when every costumer should matter; regardless of who they are or how much they are spending. Sorry Coya… u loose a star from me.

The food is delicious and the place is beautiful, my fav is the Tuna tiradito, yellow fin tiradito and salmon taco, yummy! Oh, they give you appetizer guacamole with soft chips for free and it’s very fresh and yummy too! The only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars is because of the service… which was so so… but hey it’s Miami right?

Went on a dinner date to COYA on a rainy Saturday evening. We shared an order of the Camaron(Rock Shrimp) and Atun Arroz Crocante(Tuna Tartare) for appetizers. For our meal we shared Pargo Rojo Trufa(Ceviche) and the Arroz Nikkei(Seabass Risotto). Quality Everything we ate was delicious, but the Pargo Rojo Trufa Ceviche was without question the standout. In general we followed the recommendations of our waiter and he definitely steered us right. The Camaron was excellent, as was the Atun Aroz Crocante, however the rice patties the Tuna was served on were a bit strange. I am not the biggest risotto fan, but the Seabass itself was incredible. The only regret was probably not opting for the Lubina Chilena instead of the Arroz Nikkei. Quantity The portions were reasonable for all the food. Everything on the menu is pretty much set up for sharing. The three smaller plates and one main meal were plenty for the two of us. Value In general the restaurant is probably a little bit overpriced. However, for the atmosphere and the quality of the food it is definitely worth paying a bit more. Ambiance It was actually the unique look of COYA that drew my interest in the first place. Located right off of Brickell Ave, it is set up to make you feel like you have left the city for a more tropical setting. We ended up sitting outside in what they call their terrace area, which is set up with comfortable couches and chairs. The area is surrounded with greenery and stylish tables and lighting. The music was played at a good volume and it was a nice mix of tropical house music. Although I only passed through the inside, it too looked incredible. It was extremely vibrant with a mix of old world and Mayan architecture. The bar immediately draws the attention with its lighting and impressive size and organization. Definitely one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to. Crowd For a Saturday evening I expected a slightly larger crowd, but perhaps the weather or the inevitable New Years Resolution diets kept people away. When we arrived around 8:30 the restaurant was almost empty, but it was starting to fill up when we left a bit after 10:00. The one thing to note is the outdoor terrace area allows for smoking and without much ventilation it was very noticeable as the crowd starting arriving. Service Both the sommelier and our waiter were extremely helpful and friendly. We were very happy with both the wine selected as well as the food recommended by our waiter. Our waiter circulated our area frequently and knew exactly when to check-in with us. It was great to not have to answer any inquiries with a mouthful of food. Parking In general I try to avoid driving into Brickell, so we took an Über over. They had valet for $ 10 at the restaurant and I’m sure if you hunted you could find parking within a few blocks for less. Extra Although I already mentioned it once, it bears repeating. The real thing that standouts about the restaurant is its style. It makes a real impression and definitely would be a big reason why I would recommend it to others and want to come back myself.

I stayed at Coya to enjoy dinner after attending a Unilocal event. I really wanted to love it, but I’m just not too sure right now. I tried several of their dishes suggested by the waiter and my friend who had been there previously, and nothing was excellent or something I would go back for. The size of the plates is so small, you’ll literally have just a couple of bites of whatever you order. Do not come hungry or you’ll end up spending a fortune ordering everything off the menu. The things that definitely are fantastic here are the drinks and the service. The staff was incredibly attentive to us at all times. I tried a few of the drinks, but my favorite was the Passion Fruit Pisco. It was delicious! I hope I can go back to Coya and try more of the food. I’ll make sure it’s on pay day ;)

Went for the Unilocal event and I’m so glad I did!!! The ambiance of this place is really sexy and fresh and the staff couldn’t be more friendly. The bar serves one delicious drink after another and the food– omg, rock shrimp, you had me at — rock shrimp? I can’t stop salivating every time I think about it. I’m bringing all my friends here for a very Miami night out. You should too. Oh, there is valet(5 bucks for lunchtime, 10 for dinner) but you can also park on the street behind the restaurant for much less and there is a walk through. Enjoy!

I am so happy that I finally ate at Coya! The meals are sharing portion which is great. For starters I have the tacos de salom and it was tiny and light to start with. Then I had chicken, pork, shrimp and so much more. For dessert I had the Sundae de Maíz which is corn sundae, sweet corn ice cream and pop corn and it tasted delicious and light. What I really like about Coya is you don’t feel full when you finished which is a great. I for sure want to come back for brunch and lunch as well. Basically I want to come back for everything.
