Cuban Tropic Tile

These guys are total crooks. Buyer BEWARE!
I ordered tile for my bath, to be shipped up to NY. They required a personal check before they’d send anything, which in hindsight should have been a red flag.
The tiles arrived broken and chipped — completely unusable. When I called to let them know, their response was to immediately blame me. Huh? What? He said I must be lying, or maybe I waited too long to inspect all the tiles (it was a week before my contractor could make time and space to lay them all out). He claimed that their tiles had never once broken in transit, not even once in the history of the company.
Of course I sent pictures. I said, «surely you insure your shipments?» He claims they do not. Even though they are shipping — hello! — TILE that are stamped «fragile».
I was dumbfounded by their response, but remained polite. I naively kept thinking we would work it out. When I asked what he was going do about this situation, he actually suggested I order replacement tile from another company. «After all, it will only happen again,» he said.
Luckily, my bathroom was small and I was only robbed of $ 680. Stay away.

One of the last things you can buy for your home that’s hand made in miami. If you are used to getting what you want today then go to home depot. If you want your home to stand out with outstanding detail then order early. Our tile took 10 weeks to be done (told would take 6 — 8 weeks) — we didn’t order enough of them for the job and called them to order more thinking it would take another 2 months but they managed to make them in 4 days. Beautiful tile, well worth the wait and cost.

Stay as far away from cuban tropical tile as you can. I have never worked with more unprofessional shady characters in my life. They didn’t meet any deadlines. Kept changing prices and when they couldn’t deliver my order they changed the invoice for my smaller order to try to get more money from me. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Spend a few extra bucks and buy from a legit manufacturer. These guys are crooks.
