Cheap cheap food! A friend of mine took me here before going out for the night and not only were the portions HUGE but the food itself was excellent! It did take awhile for it to cook but when it came out it was gigantic portions. It does get a bit loud in there at night but if you are in the mood for excellent cheap food this is the place!

Cheap breakfast. Super nice people run this little café on Calle Ocho. Did I say cheap breakfast yet? If you are a tourist like me, you are probably eating breakfast facing the waves in south beach. Good call. If you are a local starving artist, student, or just love a bargain like me, breakfast in Calle Ocho at little cafes like this can not be beat. Surrounded by useful discount markets and offices, this place is one of many cafes in the neighborhood worth investigating. Breakfast starts at $ 1.99!!! WTF? Remember when we were little kids and Diners offered weekday breakfast specials starting at $ 1.99 for our parents? Well, it is still the eighties here friends. Sorry, I was lost in a moment of nostalgia, trying to remember that rooty-tooty-fresh and fruity song from International House Of Pancakes. I digress. I sat at the bar and asked for a menu. Breakfast specials were featured along with photos on the wall. I ordered an Americana. Scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The potatoes that came with the Americana are french fries! Made fresh, with the skin on, they are gluten free here and cut to order the day that I dined in. Gluten-free friends, breakfast is a tough one. Toast, pancakes, bagels, and cereal are all off limits. Worse? Many hash brown products etc. are also off limits if they are made from a frozen product. Mc Donald’s hash browns for example? Contain wheat. I could tell that my eggs were made fresh because I could see some yellow versus white still on them. The scrambled eggs were not overcooked,(four stars) the bacon was extra crunchy and lean(five stars) the french fries were fresh and crunchy(five stars) Watch out, they are hot! I think I burned my tongue here. Patience is not my strong suit. The coffee was very good, strong as hell.(four stars) The service was great.(five stars) I was completely doted on. The bargain.(one million stars) I tipped 50% because I felt like an a-hole leaving a measly 20% tip of one quarter. I spied the festive spirit leftover from Christmas still hanging around on the walls. There was a serious sound system and stage not being used which I assume means that they have music and parties in the PM here. Orale. Like many Cuban cafes in the area, there is an orange juicer piled high with fresh oranges. Take that Jamba! Sorry, I didn’t get any pictures of this place.:-(I hope the amazing Miami Unilocalers put one up for you. Cheap breakfast. Like 1985 cheap! You are welcome!
