Was a loyal customer until I was given a burnt spinach empanada. Will not be returning.

This is a simple and clean latin café with good breakfast and lunch specials. The place exudes far more character than a chain. The patio tables with umbrellas are comfortable and the dishes are tasty! The sign outside reads «Alex Café»

Their specialty is something you could perhaps define as South American «Soul Food». Owned and operated by an adorable couple who relish on the improbable mix of their nationalities (she’s from Uruguay and he’s from Argentina, and the sempiternal bad blood between those neighboring countries is legendary). They specialize in South American homey treats like the «milanesa», the «chivito» or wheat flour «empanadas», but whatever you eat there you’ll find simple and unpretentious but solid and consistent in quality and flavor. Their pastries and traditional sweets are great as well the expresso machine made cofee.
