We got the chicken mofongo, and it was alright. It wasn’t great and it wasn’t bad. There’s really nothing much to say about the dish. It was really a whatever type meal, not something that i’d order again. The actual mofongo plantain was good but the portion of chicken in my opinion was small. Flavors were decent. The lady taking our order was very friendly and personable, so that’s a plus. Would I return? I would, because I’d like to try a really good mofongo plate. But it will probably be a while until I try them again.

I love mofongos so when I saw this truck at the Food Trucks Tuesdays in Haulover. I went straight to it without considering any other choice. I have to say I did not regret my choice. I had the shrimp mofongo and it was tasty. The mofongo itself was full of flavor and moist. The only thing I wish was different is the shrimp. I would prefer to have it in a tomato/cilantro sauce, and while we are at it, why not inside the mofongo :-)

Love this food truck. Had empanadas at Heritage Park and they were soooo good. Went to Tamarac Park last night and based on the woman’s recommendation, I had the yuca fries with steak. OMG! Amazing! The wait wasn’t bad and it was totally worth it. My son loves the empanadas and our friend inhaled the mofongo with steak! This is definitely a truck worth trying. You won’t regret it!

I went to arts park food trucks looking for El Rincon de Coqui food truck looking for an alcapurria and a steak sandwich. Rincon wasn’t there but Don Mofongo was so I decided to try theirs. I’ll start with the alcapurria, It was by far the soggiest alcapurria I have ever tried(and I’ve been eating them since I was a kid) also the taste was way off. Now the steaksandwich looked edible but was not by any stretch of the imagination. $ 16.00 down the drain. I cant believe it’s a Puerto Rican food truck. I will not go back.

I tried Don Mofongo at the Art Park Food Truck extravaganza which occurs every Monday night in Hollywood. I have been particularly looking for Mofongo since I first tried it at Punto De Vista Restaurant in Puerto Rico; sadly, they were not the same. We ordered the Chicken with Tostones & Pork Mofongo. The chicken was a 4.5 to 5, it was tasty, very very close to Chick-fil-a deliciousness. The Tostones were also very good, this by far was the better dish!!! The Mofongo for me was very heavy, very dry, and lacked really any flavor… it was extremely bland… no amount of ketchup, lime juice, salt, or hot sauce was going to save it. In fact, we left more than half of it, it just wasn’t appetizing. The pork was also very dry. I wish I had pix but my iPhone has been acting up so you don’t get to see it, sorry kiddies. There were maybe 5 people ahead of us when we got there, it took about15−20 mins to order, and by the time I ordered there were 25+(I counted) people waiting in line for this truck. Food took another 15 – 20 mins to come out… so it was definitely on the leisurely side. Think I will try another truck next time.

Great food. LARGE servings. I don’t know about the pricing since a friend picked it up. I just know that we got 3 boxes for 4 people and we ate it through the next day. Even the leftovers were good!

Is it dominican or puerto rican food? I have no idea. But it is freaking delicious. So the food trucks came around to my job and decided to give this truck a try because I wanted something different than a burger or taco. This truck offers something different from the others. There’s mofongo with a combination of meats. From chicken to chorizo to ropa vieja to churrasco. Not only that, but you can get those meats with tostones or yuca bites. And they have alcapurrias, pasteles, and a bunch of other latin-caribbean food. So I thought the portions were going to be small. Wrong! I couldn’t finish my order. I got the mofongo with churrasco. I made sure to finish the mofongo. It was the perfect combination of salt, plantain, pork, and garlic. Andrew Zimmern once said that if a food truck has the biggest line, that’s the one you want to go to. So expect a line and a bit of wait. It’s well worth it out. And what’s the rush anyway? A little on the pricey side for street food but it’s worth every penny.

Never had DOMINICANFOOD before. It was amazing! Just got home from eating at the Don Mofongo food truck for the first time. I cabnot believe my cell phone died before I could photograph my food. Ahhhh!!! I had the yuca bites with steak(churrasco) for $ 10.75 Absolutely amazing! Super seasoned beef super hot over a bed of yuca fries. Huge portion! The lady who took my order was more than charismatic. She had me cracking up. Seems she really enjoys her job. Meeting her def added to the great experience. Can’t wait to go back! FYI Don Mofongo is the GREENTRUCK(there’s usually 3 trucks– all hispanic food– that park here between the church and the U-Pick lot.) Follow them on facebook and twitter.

Came here by a suggestion from a good friend. She knows how hard it is to find good, authentic puertorrican cuisine in Miami. I went straight for mofongo with pork and it transported back to my aunt’s house in Puerto Rico. Very savory, pork was seasoned just right. We were offered to try out the yuca bites, and we were glad we did, crispy and delicious. Beef empanadas were yummy as well. Portions are generous. There can be some wait, but so worth it. Tables and chairs on site, if you want to eat there or you can have it to go. Owners very welcoming and charismatic. Overall good experience. Will be returning soon.

Visited Don Mofongo’s at the food truck gathering at Young Circle last Monday night and was a bit underwhelmed. Being on a diet(whole family practically) we don’t get the opportunity to make our traditional Puerto Rican dishes as our excesses caused us to balloon up lol. I digress, I can to the truck to try the following with my cousins: Tripleta– The meat was good, the potato shoe string fries were there, the sauce the lettuce but the ham was too big and the bread it was Cuban bread. in Hollywood there has to be a place that they can get Pan Sobao… hmm why not Latins Sweets bakery on Taft. that would have been great if they used Pan Sobao. the sandwich was very big so you got your money’s worth. Toston Burger– Hands down the best thing that was ordered the tostones were perfectly fried the, the burger looked and tasted homemade and the dressing and cheese was perfect. i’d come back for this. Alcapurria– you get 2 per order and they are huge but the masa was under-cooked. the masa seasoning was perfect but it being under-cooked affected the impression of the dish. I suggest making one from beef instead of pork too. Empanadilla de Pizza– I think we got a different order of them because we had cut up pieces of ham and that is weird for a pizza empanadilla. Just make a pizza sauce and use mozz cheese. fry those suckers a little longer and boom, perfection! I think with the the orders for mofongo and what not affected the frying oil as temperatures fluctuate when it’s used frequently. I would come back again to give it another go.
