Ample area with many booths to sit. It’s a family style take out place. Aversge prices. The food is presented behind a glass enclosure. We picked what we wanted to eat. There is a big selection of dishes. Seafood, meats, vegetables, tamales, chicharrones. Our party opted for lobster with rice and fried boniato and BBQ spare ribs with moros and Fufú & Tostones. The lobster was tender and the sauce was just right. Not too tomaty. The boniatos were golden but not hard to bite. The ribs were huge and fork tender with a sweet sauce. Fufú(mashed plantains) and tostones good. The waiter brought the food to our table. She was friendly and at the end they offered dessert list. We just got #cafecitocubanoporDios.

Worst occasion ever! Went over to this place, had a server who was just all smile and no service what so ever. I came here this ThanksGiving morning with my girlfriend to eat a morning breakfast. But no, our server didn’t know nothing of English! Neither does management apparently. They couldn’t even explain to me their own menu. I asked the server if I can speak to a manager. Then another server she just comes up with no English too and she couldn’t explain nothing from their menu! Wtf! Hate this place don’t go here people! They don’t help for shit and no one wanted to try to assist. The two servers wearing white in the morning didn’t even want to try to help us. They ignored my girlfriend and I, just to not speak to us. It’s like how am I suppose to order? I said screw This place and left. ***MESSAGETOTHEOWNER and MANAGERS*** LEARNENGLISHYOUDONTHAVEONLYSPANISHCUSTOMERSYOUKNOW! I CANIMAGINETHEAMOUNTOFMONEYYOUPEOPLELOSE. One of the first places we chose to eat at. I gave 4 stars for overall taste, price, and service. We got huge portions for great price. There are so many options and they all look and smell amazing. The arroz imperial was my favorite. The service was just okay but that was only because I speak very little Spanish and our waitress spoke very little English. That made it a bit difficult to order but we figured it out. Overall, I enjoyed it and will be back!

UPDATE: This place has gotten better every time I come back. I got the chance to try the Drive-thru and the service is pretty fast. I also got a chance to try out the Sandwiches! I should have had these first! The Medianoche and Miami Sandwich are fantastic! Plenty of Ham and Cheese on each to keep you filled. They come with French Fries that taste wonderful thanks to a very clean, regularly replaced oil in frying, keeping the peeled potatoes fresh. I’m updating this place to 4 stars, and most if not all of my Cuban family members have already tried this place out, and they enjoy it too. I still haven’t eaten inside of the restaurant with table service though. Not too concerned about it. I now recommend every Hispanic person in the area to give this place your time, money, and taste buds. Original Review(8÷19÷2015): I’m gonna frequent this place very often since I live about 2 blocks from it, my favorite local Chinese Place has been«Shut Down for Kitchen Remodeling» for the past Stone Age and a half(Curse you«Lucky One»…) and I have Hispanic Parents. Anyways, I come here to order some Takeout food when parents are looking for a quick bite at night. The place looks really nice inside, and the dining service is kind of weird for people Staying Inside to Eat. I’ve never eaten inside before, so I don’t know how that works out for me, but what I can tell you is that the Prices and Quantity definitely work out for me. You can get an enormous amount of food for under $ 10 if you know what you’re ordering. Unfortunately, Quantity does exceed Quality at this place. The«Pinchitos» which are Pork Chops BBQ’d on a Stick, taste excellent. Everything else hovers around Average. The Fried Rice is somewhat Bland with more bits of Hardened Diced Chicken than Grains of Rice. The Chicken Milanesa, is good for the first few bites, but the Tomato Sauce used to marry the Cheese with the Breading becomes dominant, and some of the areas of the Chicken are Hard. The Paella style Seafood Platter was very good, but there are bits of bone and shell lying around the Grains of Rice, so be wary. This place to me will be solely for eating where my parents are either too lazy or too late at night to go somewhere else. I come here to fill up my belly with the varied selection of foods El Chef Ramon offers, and that’s good enough for me. Until«Lucky One Chinese Restaurant» finishes paying off the Yakuza or whoever shut down the place, I will have to come here to eat, and that is fine by me.

This is not a classy restaurant. But it certainly has a nice atmosphere. Four people including dessert and coffee did not exceed $ 70. You can see the food aligned in warm display cabinets before ordering. The pork fried chunks were tasty and fresh. On Saturday you can order Tasajo(dry cured beef) it was delicious. Dishes are accompanied with two side orders. The fried plantains were rather dark and refried. I do not recommend them. The tostones were better. But the chick peas(chicharos) were great. Not very successful with the black beans. These were not seasoned enough. They seemed just boiled. Everything else including the service is fair to good. They waited on us immediately. The waiter was courteous and did not err on the order. Do not seat near the doors. The constant opening created condensation on the air conditioner louvered supply outlets and small drops fell on a few tables. The a/c design is deficient. Perhaps later in the afternoon when it is not so warm outside. Is the right time to go at least until they address this issue.

The absolute worse costumer service I’ve ever seen. This place should be shut down for how disgusting the waitress treat you. A total mess of a place

The place is good, and the prices are fine, but the delivery option is a disaster, the delivery man doesn’t know the city always is in the wrong place, a delivery take more than 1 an a half hour

I have no affiliation with this restaurant. I love the food I love the service. The other night I showed up at 10:30 way past their closing hour. And someone at the drive-through was nice enough to take my order with a smile. Their beef with potato is amazing I highly recommend it.

The good thing is they have a drive thru, the problem is that like most Cuban places with drive thru; they are terrible. They don’t responded while waiting to place order, slow and workers give attitude. This place is not a restaurant it’s a good by the pound place. To compare it’s like blue sky and that place went out of business ! It looked promising but this place disappointed me with its poor service and attention to detail by drive thru !

We recently purchased a tray of «Arroz Imperial» and it was«as good as it gets!». We are very demanding choosing places to eat and wanted to try Don Ramon as it was new to us. We liked it very much.

Well, I’ve been back a few times and I have to say, their service has improved and it’s a little less confusing each time. I won’t mention the kerfuffle with the Perrier, but it was all a big gassy misunderstanding. The quality is consistent and the options vary a bit depending on the day of the week. Daily specials are added to the menu and available for lunch and dinner. A typical meal for one with a drink runs between $ 12 – 18 dollars depending on what you choose. I do recommend this for a laid back family outing. On another note, the cafecito isn’t half bad… I’m upgrading to four stars.

I have to say I’m a bit disappointed with the dining experience at Chef Ramon. For starters, the floor is very greasy and slippery and dangerous. I ordered the chicken breast and it was extremely dry and tough to cut. The rice was ok. The food selection in general is very greasy and doesn’t look very appetizing.

This place has so much potential but I was so baffled and confused. I am Cuban American and love good food. I cook and do not feel that salt should overwhelm flavor. This restaurant’s flavor was all there unfortunately it was overwhelmed with salt. I went in a Friday at about 9:30 with my two kids and husband. The music is live and I love that but it was so loud the waitress could not hear what I was saying. Oh and about waitress, you need to order at a buffet looking counter first. You may leave your tab open to sit or pay your entire meal there. There is no structure in the ordering process. If you aren’t on your toes you will be cut off the line even if you’ve been there patiently waiting. Honestly, even McDonald’s has a system so make a freaking line it is the American way. I don’t care about ordering and sitting even though I rather order at the table. Just let it be in an orderly fashion. There should not be any confusion in a restaurant. Too much going on. Next time drive thru or take out. It’s easier to order and leave then to sir and enjoy. Waitress was amazing and super nice. Management needs to rethink.

So I tried this place on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, with my wife. All I can say is what a waste of $ 40.00. I mean really how bad can you screw up Cuban food. First & final impression not good. This is a new restaurant, I’ve actually been waiting for it to open up so I can try it. The day I went there is was pretty much empty, one of the guys(who seemed to be the owner) was asking around the restaurant, you would think the he or someone would at least come by and see how everything was but NO that didn’t happen. I did see this guy who I assumed was the owner walking around and checking things out, he actually looked our way a few times but never came by to say hi or see how thing are going. Anyway, after standing there for a few minutes we figured we would just seat ourselves. As I entered I noticed this food counter line(just like when you’re in elementary school) that you have to walk up to and select your choice of prepared food. After you select your dish they place it on a tray and YOU take it back to your table. Of course I had no idea how this worked because none of the 6+ servers standing around would explain how this worked. So here I am with a tray of food in one hand and my little boy hanging off the other arm. Btw there was like 4 – 6 girls(waitresses) just standing around looking at me struggling with this big ass tray when one of the Spanish speaking only girls decided to ask me if I needed help. Only when they saw me struggling holding my child was when the Spanish speaking only girl offered some assistance. As for the food… Well I have to say all the food looked really good in the display case. Reminded me of what you would see on a cruise, and just like cruise ship food… ITWASTASTELESS. Although I didn’t know this at the time I ordered. So I ordered a steak with congris & fried yuca — the steak was tough, consistency like a protein bar, no taste except for the grilled onions. The fried yuca was saturated in oil and the congris had no taste. My wife order the imperial rice, another mistake. The only thing tasty was the cheese on top. I ordered grilled chicken with white rice, black beans & mariquitas for my son who loves chicken. Well, he took one bite and after chewing it for a little bit he spit it out. So I tried it, not the part he spit out. It was terrible, dry and tough although not as tough as the steak. On a positive note, my son did like the white rice & mariquitas(lol). Oh yeah, the black beans, a can of Goya taste better then the crap El Ramon serves. If you’re craving Cuban food, try any other place. For those few Unilocaler who just joined acting like El Ramon customers, just stop. Please. You all sound like idiots. This is a social site and customers are allowed to voice their opinions. I apologize if you don’t care for my comments maybe the owner should consider some negative comments and re-evaluate the entrees I mentioned. After all the last 4 restaurants that tried to make a go of that placed failed.

We visited the restaurant for the 1st time on Valentines 2015. When you 1st walk in, no one is at the front to greet or seat you. My husband and I sat at a table and waited for about 10 minutes and to our surprise, found out it was food by the pound restaurant. Comidas por libras as they say in Spanish. I have to admit, the food was absolutely delicious and for the price you can’t beat it. Would I go there again? to take out yes, to sit and eat there? No. The service was not that good at all. but the food was…
