Fresh fruits and vegetables. And usually at a bargain in comparison to your ’round the corner super market. DONOT however let this make you over spend. It’s not uncommon you buy all those fruits and vegetables, get to your house, and wonder where in the world you’re going to fit all that stuff in your fridge. I’m talking about my own experiences here.

1) If you have a large family — this is where you need to buy your produce, and dry goods. I budget $ 250 and leave with boxes of produce that we can store for 2 – 3 months easy. Tips: can the tomatoes, blanch everything else and freeze(I’m a deep freezer believer). 2) FRIENDLY staff for the most part. Very busy however. I go late afternoon near closing at 2pm once it slows down. They will help you fill your car if you buy bulk so have change ready to tip. 3) Buy in BULK! Boxes of Apples, Oranges, crates of Grapes, Limes, Grapefruit, Pears, tomatoes, eggplant, chayote, beans, rice, carrots, onions, plantains, EVERYTHING all for less than $ 25(often and depending on what you are getting) with qty. s of 60 or more in each box! Can’t beat that — not even at Walmart(Negotiate if you buy alot-they will work with you) 4) Shop smart: Call ahead and get pricing and find out what is currently in season. This way you can even plan the trip with your neighbors and stock up.
