I thought I would give George’s another chance. Help me from saying something I will regret. What the hell… this place is awful, with a capital A. The servers are great, but the stuff coming out of the kitchen appears to have been bought at a garage sale. Brown tinged lettuce… smelly fish… squishy tomatoes; none of these words should be presented on a plate. Dear owner… please get your act together. The Grove has so many options and this place should be a star. It’s not even close to the one star I gave it, but that’s because there wasn’t any other option. There… I said it. I hope you won’t regret your experience as much as I did. If you’ve read my other reviews… you can see this review is an anomaly.

Four of us were walking around the Grove when we came upon Georges. We had already checked out and left a few other restaurants in the area, so we decided to give this a try. We honestly were not expecting much, especially since we all decided we would do the $ 25 special that included an appetizer, small plate entrée and desert. They also give you a complimentary glass of champagne. The food was amazing. I had the warm goat cheese sales, mussels with french fries, and chocolate mousse. Others had avocado tartare, French onion soup, grilled salmon, cheese & truffle pasta, and bread pudding. You expect small servings when its called small plate, but no one finished their entire entrée. The appetizers were good sized and there was nothing small about the small plate entrees. I honestly don’t know how your could have bought the ingredients for these meals for $ 25. Georges is a great value, pleasant atmosphere on the sidewalk, and a good place to relax and have a good time.

Very nice set up! Friendly staff food was delicious. I had French toast, eggs, and bacon. Very nice place for brunch with unlimited mimosas!

A deplorable establishment. We only came here because the better places in the Grove were occupied and this one was fairly empty, and it didn’t take long to understand why. The service was trash. The food is mediocre. Our server must have touched base with us once during our entire meal, and after waiting 95 hours to receive the food, we were unimpressed. The eggs had an old taste to them, and the fries were the sort you get in a giant bag at Walmart for four dollars. It was the blandest breakfast I have ever had in my life. I would prefer brunch in Gerber’s baby food isle at Target – at least mashed peas have a flavour. My friend did not like her banana and chocolates pancakes much, and I like them even less. The chocolate tasted burnt to me. I did overhead them say there were only two cooks working, so I don’t know if that contributed to the poor quality of food because they felt rushed and were scrambling about… but honestly it was at about half occupancy(but is anyway surprised), maybe less, so I don’t think that warranted the time delay. Neither does it account for the fact that the server came by only once when it was time to get his $$$. Music was too loud as well. Unless I’m at a restaurant where the music is intentionally loud to produce a certain ambiance, I don’t want to lean over the bread basket to hear my peers struggling to yell their words. I’m really a pretty low maintenance gal. Easy to impress. Like, I’m that one person who enjoys Dennys. But this was horrible. Yes, George’s in the Grove is worse than Denny’s, and I’m only being slightly dramatic. That being said, I have heard good things about their dinner menu and would come again for an evening meal when they aren’t understaffed.

I would give it a zero if I could. We were visiting Miami and spent the afternoon in the Grove. We stopped here for lunch. My husband and I ordered the lobster salad to share. After waiting almost 45 minutes to get our food when they brought it out they had put the salad in a hot plate. When I told the manager he took it away and brought out a bowl of greens only. He argued with me that I had eaten the lobster. They refused to replace it or to take the $ 28 charge off the bill. WHAT A DISASTERAND A RIPOFF. WORSTRESTAURANTEXPERIENCE I HAVEEVERHAD.

Very nice place with friendly staff. Just walked by as we were passing through the Grove. I selected the $ 25 deal that includes wine and dessert. Definitely a nice place.

We used to live in Coconut grove 3 years ago and would go to George’s all the time. We were back in Miami and decided to visit our regular spot. It was a disaster. 2 hours later we were not hungry any more and I were ready to go. Thankfully there are a lot of options in the Grove and were able to enjoy a good meal. I believe that out of bad situations you can have a customer still leave happy and the manager was definitely not able to do it. I do not think I will be back there again.

Extremely slow service, only one other couple at the restaurant when we walk in and it took 1 hour to get our food, that a bit excessive…

Had brunch at George’s in the Grove but it was nothing to rave about. I ordered the Cajun Omelet Tomato Shrimp. This was a watery egg omelet with three pieces of shrimp. I couldn’t find anything«Cajun» about it. It wasn’t spicy, it had no flavor, I don’t believe it even had salt in it. The shrimp was overcooked and slightly chewy. My girlfriend had Eggs Benedict and she liked it. Apparently I ordered the wrong dish. I will give George’s 3⁄5 stars because my girlfriend enjoyed her meal and everyone gets one free mimosa for brunch. But honestly, don’t order the Shrimp Omelet it’s a waste of food.

I visited with my family for the first time for dinner. All 6 plates came out perfect, and very attentive service. I was extremely pleased and will be returning soon.(Dessert is a must, try their Crème Brulee)

The food was good. The service was good. I love that they take zapper for payment. I have been to quite a few brunch places and this one just did not stand out for me. But I have no complaints. We sat inside but outside seating is available and looks like a great setup to people watch. It was cold this time so outside was not an option for us, but I noticed a group turn a heater on outside.

So we decide to go to Coconut Grove to «walk around» and have lunch. So we stopped at a few places and the wait was so long you would think it was brunch at Buckingham Palace with the Queen. So we kept walking and stopped at George’s restaurant were the wait was only about 30 minutes give or take for an inside table(longer outside). Our party of 7 was seated and the waiter quickly came over to take our order. Prices were fair and honestly so was the food. The place was quaint and the crowd was a good mix of young and old and of course people with their dogs(not a fine of dining with your canine, but what the heck). I had a turkey club which was okay and my with had the eggs benedict which were a bit heavy on the sauce side. Over all the place earned the 3 ½ stars it has on Unilocal.May or may not be back(probably not) just because it was not bad, but just alright.

I arrived to coconut grove excited for some brunch on a late Sunday morning only to find most places had about an hour wait. As I walked down the street I came across George’s, I’ve heard great things about and had never been. With no wait I decided to go for it! Their service was on point, with a genuinely honest and nice waiter as the restaurant slowly filled up within 30 minutes. Between four of us we ordered almost everything in the brunch menu, from their poached eggs, omelets, French toast everything was delicious. The restaurant not very big is beautiful decorated with comfortable outdoor seating as well. I can only vouch for their brunch menu which is delicious and not very pricey at all. It’s a nice brunch place for families and friends to try on a Sunday morning.

Really good café. The service was great — attentive, totally felt taken care of. The cheese and truffle pasta was spot on — the chicken perfectly cooked. The drinks flowed at the right cadence. I would definitely return.

«A great atmosphere.» That’s the plgrase is use to describe this place. We walked in looking for a celebration and that’s exactly what we got. The hostess offered us mimosas while waiting for our table(which I though was awesome.) We were sat pretty quickly with a party of 6 and we’re given our menus. To be honest, the choices weren’t the best I’ve ever seen but the food was good once we got it. Not great. It is a GREAT party place. I’d come here to celebrate anything. But I’d honestly like to see more variety of the Menu. Nothing special at all about the food. The service was amazing. Just really wish they’d step up their brunch.

Had an interesting experience here, would agree that the rating hovers more around 3.5 stars. We came here as a group for brunch, but given the limited breakfast selection we actually all ended up ordering burgers — most of us picked the same one with prosciutto. I’m not sure if I liked the prosciutto paired with the burger particularly much, as it added unneeded sodium to an already salty product. Throughout the meal, our conversations kept getting interrupted when the lights would dim and loud Miami club music would blast for other patrons’ birthdays. I’m all for celebrating someone’s birthday, but the contrast with the calm classical music is comical and a bit too ridiculous. Pluses: complimentary first mimosa and the jam that comes out with the bread is very good. Decent prices too, and funny chairs and décor. Not sure I’d be drawn to return, however, more like a one time try.

Fun. That is the word I would use to describe George’s restaurant and the atmosphere that surrounds the establishment. I have now visited George’s on multiple occasions, but all of these occasions have been during a weekend brunch, so I cannot truly write about the experience outside of these times. However, I can write this review on George’s brunch with confidence. George’s is one of the few places in Miami that provides the«boozy brunch». With the purchase of any(well priced) entrée, you can expect a bevy of delicious mimosas made with George’s own sparkling rosé from France. While the food and drinks are good, what really gives George’s the 5 star rating is the environment. They have fun music playing throughout brunch and whenever someone decides to celebrate ANYTHING, get ready for a show. All in all, I would not describe George’s as the most«romantic» or «quaint» place for brunch in Miami, but it is definitely an experience and a great place to bring friends/family/co-workers/random person you just met for a great time.

This place is just ok. Let me explain… The service is great. Very attentive waiters and manager. The French onion soup was very good. So flavorful! The let down came with my steak frite. Fries delicious but the actual steak was 50% fat and gristle. The actual meat though was great(when you were lucky enough to cut through all the gristle). Chocolate mousse was good but skip the coffee. Espresso was no bueno!
