First, let me start out by saying… HORRIBLE! Just beyond bad. I came here because I had once had a brand of dye used on my head which is awesome and they are listed on the site of Alfaparf as one of their salons with their amazing dye. Sadly, the dye was the only thing great there! Well, the place looks broken down, filthy, and disorganized. Almost looked like I went into the home of a hoarding cuban lady! Nothing I’m used too because I always go to Maribelle Day Spa and they are top notch! The lady who was assigned to me was named Pilar. I showed her exactly what color I wanted and she insisted I take a look at the colors of some cheap dye company. They don’t use Alfaparf on clients, unless you ask apparently. Thank god I did! She mixed up the dye and got to work immediately. Then told me the dye would take about 40 minutes which is ridiculous! Not paying any attention to my dye or anything, after 30 minutes when I notice it was done. I told her it was done and she then got up from reading a magazine and said, ok. Let’s go wash. Now, the horrible part. She keeps little packets of some hair serum in her drawer. Not a bottle or anything like the products they were selling. She then got to blow drying my hair which was beyond bad! She was tugging on my hair, destroying my ends! She constantly kept knotting my hair and for a big knot. She cut it without asking me! And like any common sense person, instead of grabbing a comb to untangle my knot, she was pulling and just blow-drying with knots and all on my hair! She has NOCLUE whatsoever on how to blow-dry that I came home to fix it myself! At the end I told her to give me the brush and let me finish! I got charged $ 85 for the dye which was the only good part of this crappy experience. $ 40 for a horrible blow-dry. Oh and the lady in the front charging me didn’t ask out of courtesy if I wanted to leave a tip and just assumed I had cash. When I asked to leave it on the card, she said I should have said something before. «No ma’am! You are suppose to ask me!» Then asked to go to the ATM at El Presidente. Fuck that!!! I left and said I would give that lady a tip next time I came which would be never!!!

MEDESTROSARONELPELO! THEYRUINEDMYHAIR! All I can say is that I went in there with long shiny healhy hair and left with ripped uneven color hair and crying. My husband still can’t believe I even paid for what they did the hair dresser did not follow at all the picture I should her of what I wanted which was one shade lighter than what I had! And it was just a balage at the tips. Some how she managed to knot my hair, rip it beyond repair AND she did whatever she wanted !! She left some parts green?! And others orange! She’s one of the«professionals». The people that were there were highly rude! And my husband saw how they were attacking me just to pay and didn’t give no F of how horrible I looked !! Even then I tried explaining nicely that it’s horrible and they went along with there story line that no it looks great ??! Don’t go here !!!

I love this place. The décor is nothing special but my hairdresser is amazing-Raquel. She always cuts my hair exactly the way I want it and she does a good job with the color as well. She can get a little busy so you should call in advance and make sure you know exactly what you want when you get there. BTW, bring cash. The lady who washes your hair has a tip jar and I felt embarrassed that I didn’t have any cash to throw in there. Moreover, they don’t allow tips on the credit card so cash is a must.

Let me start off by saying that Raquel is amazing! I, just like many of you, have always struggled trying to find that perfect stylist or salon that would give me the perfect cut. I have definitely had my fair share of bad hair cuts, dye jobs, you name it and I have paid for it. I was recommended to go to this salon by my best friend who had just moved back into town and had recently gotten an amazing haircut and dye job with Raquel. Desperate, I decided to go in and see for myself. For my appointment, I came very prepared with an array of pictures of what I thought would work best for my difficult hair type. But in the back of my mind I was setting myself up for disappointment. When I finally met Raquel she was extremely kind and pleasant. She spent a good amount of time with me in order to get the feel of what I wanted. Once she started cutting, I just felt completely confident that she was a pro at this. It was almost effortless for her. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted and blow dried my hair so beautifully. She made me feel like a completely new person. I’ve gone back a few more times since then and it’s never a disappointment. She often gets very busy(especially on Saturdays) because she is the owner. So I try not to schedule my appointments in the middle of the day on a weekend. The price is great too! It usually ranges from $ 40 – 45(wash, cut, and blow dry). You just can’t beat that!
