Window treatments. Think they aren’t important? Think again! I’ll admit it, I was that person who managed to go through life with ordinary curtains and a wooden curtain rod that didn’t even match the other wood pieces in my apartment. And with two cats you can just imagine how much hair was stuck to the bottom of the curtains. How I ever let anyone into my apartment thinking it was all good is beyond me! Recently, some magic force inspired me to redecorate the living room and the first spot of the room I tackled head on was the sliding glass door/dreadful brown curtain area. All of my window treatment research led me to idesign. Their website proved to be helpful but I’m more of a visual/hands on person so I stopped by their showroom, which is pleasantly located by the Adrienne Arsht center and not too far from my place. From the second you walk in you will quickly fall in love with all of the pieces of furniture, wall paper, and window treatments they have on display. I didn’t even know they offered all of these services! It was so luxurious that I kinda wanted to just move into the showroom but I’m sure it would have been frowned upon. Back to the window treatment, I had the opportunity to explain my dilemma to one of the reps(I also showed them pictures. It’s sad I tell ya!) and they instantly guided me to what they thought would look best based on the details and vision I gave them. They gave me options and never made me feel pressured, which is always appreciated. Once I chose what I wanted, they set up an appointment to come to my place and take the exact measurements of the space. After they had the measurements I was lucky enough to be scheduled for the installation fairly quickly. Unfortunately, I was not present the day they went up but my fiancé told me that the installers were quick, clean, and friendly. The first time I walked into the apartment with the new shades I was completely blown away(they are solar shades in white). It’s insane how one simple shade can change the entire feel of a room! Everything looked clean and crisp, I was just ecstatic and still am. I also got the solar shades and black out shades in the bedroom and I honestly can’t tell you how I ever had a good night’s rest before the blackouts. I really feel like I’m in permanent baller status mode with my shades. Now after this long review you may be thinking several things: 1. She’s a crazy cat lady.(Perhaps) 2. She really likes her new shades.(Fact) 3. I want to be in permanent baller status mode. What’s it going to cost me? I’m not going to pretend like it wasn’t a little costly because it was. But frankly this is one part of your home that you should not neglect and if you’re going to upgrade your window/sliding glass door situation, idesign is the perfect place to start. They guarantee a quality product and that’s exactly what I got. I’m now looking at some wall paper options for an accent wall in my living room and I’m sure you know whom I’ll be using. idesign rocks!

do not buy blinds from this company, they do not know how to cut them. i paid $ 4000 for blinds that do not work properly, they came to service it once within days of the actual installation. during this time, they refused to admit that they were hand cut short on site. the blinds keep coming out of the side valences and jam. my husband and i are both doctors and need complete black out shades and paid that much to ensure the darkest room possible. we called for another service, they scheduled it for 5 days after the call even though they knew how important it is to patients’ lives that we are well rested and make good decisions while working. this company. after i told the company that i want a supervisor to come and look, max piccinini emailed me back saying its our fault and we are blocking the shades and they can send out another service. i told them i want them replaced or given a refund. he refused both. i will be taking legal action. i will be contacting the better business bureau as well.
