This is a great store, but if you try to return something to be prepared to wait. I’ve been here for 15 minutes and now serving number only changed once.

My past few visits to Ikea I’ve left annoyed. The employees don’t seem to have much knowledge of their products or sales, and the onus is on the customer to figure it out. Here is an example of a conversation I had yesterday: Me: Where are the rectangular cork mats? Employee: Uhhh??? We have cork circles. Me: No, not the little circular trivets. They’re rectangles, in a pack of 4, about this big. :holds up hands: Employee: I don’t know if we have that. Me: You definitely have that. I bought some yesterday. I just need more and can’t seem to find them. Employee: I don’t know. Maybe in cooking and eating. I should note that cooking and eating is a huge section. When I asked a second employee walking by, I ended up having almost the exact same conversation as above. It would be nice if the employees were properly trained and educated on the products, or if they would at least be encouraged to demonstrate a helpful attitude rather than seem inconvenienced by questions. It would also be helpful if they were to walk me to the product or section rather than give vague directions in the labyrinth that is Ikea. The restaurant is usually fine, and actually my interactions with the cashiers there have been pleasant. However, when it gets crowded, the tables get overlooked and they don’t staff enough people to keep up with the mess, so it gets a little gross.

«No more traveling to Sunrise» as my dad puts it. IKEA by Dolphin Mall is a great addition to shopping near Dolphin Mall. This IKEA is the same as the one as in Sunrise, everything from the size to the food(which is great!). It also includes a very convenient parking garage for all the Miamians that go there for great value in furniture. The breakfast is a great recommendation to try, very cheap and tasty! As all IKEA’s you start from the top and then head to their own warehouse where you find your furniture to head off the cashiers, and after you finish with that you can have some cinnamon rolls and pizza to end off your shopping.

This place, like everything else in Doral, is a complete mess. I’ll give them some credit bc the display floor was like typical Ikea, pretty organized despite being busy. As we approached the lower floor where you actually can grab things to buy things started to get more and more frenzied and crowded and the checkout process was just a complete cluster of Miami citizens acting their finest… they need to open more registers here or have an express lane or widen the aisles or all of the above… Def go out of your way to go to the one in Sunrise if you have to go to Ikea.

This IKEA is huge. It includes it’s own parking garage, and has amble space for everything. That being said, it will likely challenge your sanity with large crowds, busy aisles, and endless flow of people trying to pass you. As they say, Ikea is more of a destination than a store. Come, eat, and shop. If you decide to lunch at IKEA, be sure to try their meatballs and berry soda… the two things they’re known for. In addition the furniture, they had a cafeteria-style eatery with basic fare(chicken, salads, desserts). My bit of advice is to look online to figure out what you’re interested before showing up. Although the showroom does a great job at showcasing a variety of furniture, it is hard to know what will fit in your home based on the displays. Come with measurements in hand, and grab the paper tape measure to check. If you’ve never been to Ikea, you start at the top floor and work your way down to the warehouse. There is a large loading area near the bottom floor. Parking is free and you’ll be walking no matter where you park, so just aim for somewhere not too close to the door to avoid traffic.

I would not normally review a furniture store. However, I feel the need to express my concern with the treatment received Wednesday(10⁄21) evening when leaving the Miami Ikea location. My wife and I were in the store to purchase a Friheten sofa. While in the pickup area we needed assistance as it is a very heavy and large item. As it was closing time we specifically asked if there would be anyone available to help us load the boxes onto my vehicle. It is an SUV and I needed to load it on the roof rack. We were assured there would be someone in the garage to assist us. In the garage I pulled my SUV over to the assisted loading area and there were no employees to be found. My wife then left me with the vehicle to attempt to find assistance. She walked into the store and found two men standing near the exit. She explained the situation and they made a phone call. The men told her that«she«on the other end of the phone said that there should be someone in the garage. My wife told them that we were in the garage and there was no one there. They simply shrugged her off and walked away. This left her and I to load the 145lb box on the roof by ourselves. My back was sore for two days as I had to handle the majority of the lifting. I sent an email to IKEA customer service on Friday(10⁄23) and have yet to receive any response at all from them. I have had pleasant experiences in the past but having no one willing to help after I purchase a very bulky item is unacceptable. I would like a response back as to how this situation can be resolved.

As others did, I waited for several months after this store was in operation before coming here, as I remember what a mad house the Ikea in Sunrise was for some time after it’d opened. A friend and I came here at around 4 on a Sunday afternoon. We’d been shopping at the adjacent Dolphin Mall and were hoping to simply follow Dolphin’s perimeter road around and enter the garage at Ikea from there, but that’s not how its laid out. As a result, and rather than get stuck in the long line to park at Ikea, we simply parked at Dolphin near Bass Pro Shops and walked a few paces to this store. This Ikea location seems smaller than the one at Sunrise, but the concept and layout are similar… You enter the store and take an escalator or elevator up to the main sales floor and showroom, and if you follow the bare concrete pathway that’s got indicator lights shining on it to show the direction you should walk in, you’ll be taken through the entire store and see all the products and displays they offer. If you get caught up behind slow-ass families who are meandering through or just want to bypass bits of the store if you know which particular section you’re heading to, there are doors built into the walls of the various displays that will allow you to pass through and move on faster… But what’s the fun in that? The displays are great for getting design and decorating ideas IMO, and the prices are clearly marked. As others have stated, some items are reasonably priced considering the quality, other items aren’t such a bargain. The beauty of most of the furnishings and décor from this company is that most of it’s inexpensive enough that you don’t mind donating or selling them for less than what you paid when it’s time to redecorate. Ikea also offers a few other niceties such as an ample parking garage(we opted not to use it), and a kids area for the little ones if you don’t wish to have them clinging to you or stomping around impatiently while you shop. They also have a full cafeteria, which most people visit for their famous Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce. In addition, just after the cash registers downstairs, they also have a smaller concession area where they sell pizza, hot dogs, soft drinks, cinnamon rolls, ice cream cones(actually frozen yogurt), etc. On the day we were here, we’d been shopping all day and were a bit hungry, so we each got a hot dog, fountain drink, froyo cone and a bag of chips and I think our combined total for that food was $ 5.50.

It’s a love/hate relationship with IKEA. Sometimes it’s a hit and sometimes it’s a big miss. I enjoy walking through the store looking at the new items. Prices some time to work out and sometimes are really high for something that is really low-quality. The parking lot is really nice and easy to load stuff into your car. The store is messy especially after 3 o’clock. Could use some work. Checkout is a mess.

I hate leaving bad reviews. I am a LOVER of IKEA ever since living in England for a year. I often visit Europe, and never miss a chance to go to IKEA for the amazing Swedish meatballs and fresh jam. Today was the first time I went to an «American IKEA» The décor was familiar enough, the products were the same, but the service was TERRIBLE. When I went upstairs, I asked one of the employees If I could order in store and come and pick it up in an hour. She said«No, we don’t do that. The things aren’t heavy so you can get them». She wasn’t friendly at all but she was nice enough to write the item locations on the piece of paper I had. When I asked another British girl with blond hair called Laura(I think that was her name) to help me she was so nice! She went out of her way to show me where the kids section was, even though she didn’t work in that department, and made sure I had everything I needed from that section. She asked another employee if she worked in the section and she swiftly responded«No. And I don’t know where anything is here» before prancing off. I went to the workspaces section to get some more things and I asked two girls for help. The two girls who helped me were the first two girls I spoke Scot above. The one who wrote the locations on the paper and the other one who pranced off like a panda in heat. They quickly glanced at me and pointed in the direction of where I could get it, then continued chatting away. I had to ask them two more times for help and they didn’t even bother to help walk me a few feet to where it was, since I didn’t understand their hand gesture. They were so rude and dismissive. They acted as if they weren’t getting paid to do the job. There was another friendly black guy in the lighting section who helped me but I didn’t catch his name he sounded like he had an island accent. The straw that broke my back was how I was treated when I went to the warhorse. There were two male employees slouched by the help desk chatting away. I asked one of them for help and he looked at me like I was bothering him. I said«I need help with this item» and pointed to an item on the paper. He didn’t even motion to look at the item. He said«what item?» I read it out for him and said«the micke drawer unit drop file storage» he said«it’s over their» and pointed to it!!! It’s 40kgs for both of them! Extremely heavy!!! He didn’t even offer to help me lift it. As I bent down to lift it myself, he continued to chat away. An amazing employee names Jesse or Jessie, a guy with dark hair, ran over to help and said«let me help you with that, it’s extremely heavy». He helped me lift it and put it in my cart while the other employee continued to chat away. Your management team needs to teach your employer simple courtesy skills and how to interact with customers. I really hope this IKEA takes a page out of the European employees manual. I just checked out. I will be leaving without buying my sausages because I’m extremely upset. Store it’s A Employee satisfaction. D

What more good can be said about an IKEA, especially with this one, extremely top notch! I had my doubts at first of the service I would receive in this location, since it’s more centralized in the city, but all in all, the interior décor, the customer service, and the food all have been great! Being newly designed, the location is much more up to date in its designing comparing to the Broward location, but still IKEA is an IKEA and they’re known for their great design layouts and what great stuff they offer for your home– too much fantastic items to handle that I always wanna buy everything I see :)

Loveeeee me some Ikea!!! i can spend the whole day there and you just want to remodel everything in your home. The prices are very decent and very convienent cause you can purchase furniture and take it home that very day they have soo much too choose from they have 2 floors one for furniture and big items and the other floor is bedding, kitchen and bathroom accesories. The parking is also great. I will post some of my pics from there of some furniture i am interested in.

I love this location and that I no longer have to drive an hour! I also love their merchandise and prices. Wouldn’t say it’s all necessarily high quality items but it’s definitely appealing to the eye. I never drop off my son anywhere while I shop but I was pleased to do so during our last visit here. My son stayed with a friend in their play area for half hour while us moms shopped for a bit. We were given a phone in case we needed to pick them up ahead of time for any reason(kinda like when you go on a cruise). I like how they have rooms set up, in case you need help with getting ideas. For some reason I think it’s kinda perfect to come to this store when you have a teenager going off to college(not that I like even imagining the day mine are that grown up!).

Typically I stay AWAY from Dolphin Mall… the rude educated people, crowds, lack of parking, and the list goes on. My husband and I have always made the trip up to the Fort Lauderdale IKEA to avoid the one by Dolphin Mall at all cost, but on fathers day we decided to check it out thinking it would be empty and we were so RIGHT! I was really surprised with this IKEA. It was organized, parking was easy to find, the check out lines were short and the people were really friendly! Maybe if I would have gone another day my review would differ so I’ll definitely have to go back.

IKEA is celebrating its 30 years in United States: happy birthday IKEA! We love you worldwide for your innovative and affordable furnishings, clean, highly organized and bright facilities. So what on earth happened to Miami newest store? Even in Ikea restaurant the lines were crazy slow; food cold, no clean tables & they kept running out of coffee. Don’t believe me? Just check out these photos… Simply unsanitary. R we in a third world country?

NPS = 10! AMAZING! I can’t believe I waited this long to step foot into an IKEA. And it’s not just the value in the furniture products they offer… the food in their food court is great! I was fortunate enough to visit this IKEA when they had a «food is free when you buy at least $ 100 worth of furniture.» An associate said they do it at least once a month. My recommendation is to start at the clearance section in you’re looking for an outstanding deal. I came in for trinkets/decorations for around the house and found a lot of them in the clearance. The kitchens are very nice too and the value is extraordinary. I really love the rooms they set up throughout the showroom to really give you a sense of what your house will look like. Give IKEA a try if you haven’t!

FINALLY, an Ikea in the 305! Big caveat before I begin my review… I have only been here during the week. This location is set up like all other Ikea locations, so wear comfortable walking shoes! I suggest you stop at the café first to fuel up on reasonably priced and delicious food before you begin your adventure. BTW, this location is one that has the vegetarian Swedish meatballs! So, not much else to say as my experience here has been exactly the same as at other Ikeas. The prices are reasonable, the quality is OK, the design is fantastic and the employees are actually pretty helpful! Don’t forget to stop off in the Swedish food mart on the way out… the fish spreads are excellent and make for easy and impressive appetizers at your next party.

Just moved so finally had an excuse to make a requisite IKEA trip! After frequenting the Sunrise location for so long I’m happy one opened a little closer to home. Going to IKEA can be as quick or long as you want it to be. Personally, I like to make sure that I am in the right state of mind before stepping foot in here. Usually that means caffeinated and ready to walk! Like all IKEAs, this one is laid out in a manner that requires you walk through every department before making your way to the exit. Yes, you’ll end up with things you never intended on buying in the first place; however, without fail, I’m always shocked by how much everything costs at the end. It always seems like it should be way more. That’s a great feeling. When planning a day for IKEA, you probably need to factor in a couple of hours after your shopping trip for assembly. They definitely make things compact for transportation from the store but that means lots of odds and ends you’re going to have to put together yourself. PROTIP: Pizza and beer during assembly helps lessen the blow. Oh yeah! Don’t forget to treat yourself on the way out with a warm cinnamon roll, ice cream or hot dog. You deserve it.

I never thought I would write a review on a furniture store on Unilocal, but what the heck! Ikea deserves the feedback. Here’s the lowdown: — nice modern furniture, nice design, many decoration items and accessories, etc. — most items are clever and practical, some innovative — easy to assemble, just follow the instructions blindly — «value» is very good(price vs product features/quality/design) — customer service is good — the cafeteria has some great items at fair prices… try the meatballs and the chocolate cake Ikea has been my go to place in Doral/Miami when I need nice items at a good price. Example; I needed office cabinets with a clean modern look. I tried the office furniture stores, found what I wanted but for thousands of dollars. At Ikea I bought three double closets(the not too wide style), added lots of shelves and some drawers, got sliding frosted glass doors and voilá! Super modern office cabinets. Everyone that comes to my office comments on how nice they are and that they must have cost me a fortune. If they only knew… I have bough bed frames, book shelves, etc… all very nice designed and good quality. But be warned: a lot of the material is particle board, encapsulated in nice acrylic paint(or vinyl? not sure), so it is «cheap material», but if you are careful when assembling and then takes some care after the piece is part of your deco you should have many years of joy. In summary: for us on a budget, no money to spend on fancy Italian or Brazilian designer furniture, Ikea is one of the best options. But be ready to haul the stuff yourself, and prepared to spend hours assembling the furniture, but in the end it is rewarding. Cheers!

Tip: If you know you have a big purchase to make, then bring your family to the cafeteria to eat on the«Eat for Free» day. They have these special days every couple of months. You buy a ton of food at the cafeteria. Then they staple a special piece of paper with the total amount of food you bought to your cafeteria receipt. Present this paper at final checkout with your ikea goods. They will subtract whatever you already spent at the cafeteria(up to $ 100) off your purchases. This Ikea is like most other Ikea stores. Nothing special to report. I haven’t bought anything extensive from them yet. On a recent visit, I went straight to the first floor instead of the upstairs showroom to pick up a wall file folder holder. They were out! Out?! So I asked a nearby employee who was really unhappy and told me to go upstairs. Huh, upstairs showroom? Ok, so I go up there and they are baffled why first employee told me to go upstairs. They check the computer and«three» are available but nowhere to be found. The only thing memorable from my trip was that I saw a lady’s salmon place from the cafeteria and it was the smallest portion of salmon I’ve ever seen. It was no wider than 1.25 inches. Join the Ikea family club to get a free coffee or tea from the cafeteria every time you visit.

Came for the Grand Opening on Aug 27th, 14! My sister, and friend Andy decided to camp out the night before the opening to try and get the free sofa but we were #81−83 and were able to get a pretty cool Armchair since we weren’t the first 39. I ain’t mad! So far as customer service goes it’s completely outstanding! They kept giant coolers filled with water bottles + ice at various spots for us campers to hydrate. Lots of security were around, and people checking in on us constantly. Outside portable potties ended up getting flooded and were out of service so they allowed us to go upstairs and use the employees actual facilities. LITERALLYBY6AM there was a huge party for all of us in line, a stage with a live stage and lots of giveaways in the duration of anticipating the door opening. In comparison to the Sunrise IKEA, I really really like the layout of this IKEA much better. More spacious, lots of loading zones inside and outside the garage and lots of parking. The inside is pretty much exactly the same — as with all IKEAs I’m assuming. Everyone was super helpful and even though it was opening day they took so many measures to ensure safety, crowd control, but most importantly that everyone was happy and having fun! Kudos, IKEA! You made camping out for 12 hours fun and easy(:
