The croquettes are amazing! The food is standard Cuban food. Nothing too amazing. I will say that apparently the waiters enjoy their cups with lipstick and crusty food on them. I say this because after the second cup of coffee was brought to me with lipstick and I sent it back, the bus boy complained to his buddy in Spanish about me. I don’t know if they are aware that other people speak Spanish in Miami. Overall the food is good. We have only gone for breakfast but other than the lack of entrance(you wait outside for a seat) and the bus boy issues I would say we enjoyed it.

Best croquetas in the history of mankind. Breakfast to die for and so cheap! It is a must for us when we visit our family. Huge plus they live only a block away so we have croquetas for breakfast every morning when we are there! They are that good!

My favorite go to Cuban spot. Large servings and fair prices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all great. Best croquettes in Miami is an understatement. All their dishes are great, can’t go wrong eating at Islas. Their bakery down the street is also just as good, just has less seating. Staff are always friendly and efficient.

Decided to give it another shot. Raw fried eggs(posted pics), burned pork chunks. I returned them and they gave me another two in the exact same condition. Didn’t bother to return it again because I’m simply not coming here anymore. This place has declined in quality tremendously. When I wrote my first review, I was contacted by the owner Eileen who said she would offer me a discount if I would send her my email. I contacted her and almost a year later I’m still waiting for a discount. I came today on my own accord but never again.

I’m not even Cuban and I see the inside of this restaurant more than my own room. What does that say? Those black beans are the reason why I’m still alive. Gave it for 4 stars because the service and food quality is inconsistent but even then, it’s still awesome!

I haven’t ever had a bad dish from here. The prices are good for the quality and the service is exceptional. My go-to’s are the pollo milanesa and pollo vaca frita. Sides are always tostones and pure de papa.

Beyond obviously having the best croquetas of all Cuban restaurants, these mini cylindrical balls of heavenly goodness, I give them 4 starts solely customer service. I just ordered a Cuban sandwich, 2 croquetas, a batido de trigo(wheat shake) and a pollo empanizado. The chicken ended up being raw and I called the restaurant to share because raw chicken really isn’t appetizing to me. The manager asked me to bring it to the restaurant, which I did. Not only did he apologize profusely, but he comped my entire order and refunded me all my money. Unfortunately, even though they offered me a new plate, I already lost my appetite.

SIMPLYTHEBEST! Prices on point churrasco on point and service on point. Doesn’t get any better than this. Everything I have ever tried was delicious but I almost always order the tender, flavorful steak! I definitely recommend!

I have been at this restaurant numerous times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They all have been a good experience, however today went for breakfast and what a disappointment. I had a desayuno criollo which comes with sautéed potatoes, eggs, and croquettes. Croquettes were amazing as usual(they rock!). However, the potatoes and eggs were dry, seemed like the dish was pre-made and sitting out. Ask the waiter to bring another place and argued that it was like that. Not acceptable, tremendo forró que me trataron de meter, no vengo más para desayunar aquí.

We live in California but have family here in Miami. My Tia swears by there croqueta’s, she brought a bag home the other day and even slightly cold they were pretty darn good. Then after a funeral we had someone bring a HUGE tray of arroz con pollo, the rice was so amazingly good. I never even got to the pollo or the mariquitas. I would go here every week just for the rice if we lived here.

If you’re looking for the best croquettas on the planet come to this Cuban restaurant. Be sure to wash it down w a fresh squeezed OJ. Btw– They have a drive thru in case you’re in a hurry.

The food was good I actually enjoyed the food especially since I haven’t ate Cuban food in a long time. The service was great as well the only thing I didn’t like about this place which is why it is not receiving a 5 star is because of the service we received at the door there was a wait and we wanted to get our name down and the host was super rude then we he finally sat us down he told us where to sit he didn’t take us to our table And the table Was literally on the other side of the restaurant super rude dude!

Went tonight for a soup to help with my throat. Ended up finding a piece of plastic and butter plastic wrapper. Be cautious before drinking the soup. Only put one star because I had no option to post this. But deserves no star.

Decided to take my family here for dinner tonight. Being in the mood for inexpensive Cuban food, I thought it would be a good idea. The place was empty which kind of surprised me as I thought we might have to wait a while to be seated. We were seated promptly, water and bread came right away. Our waitress came and gave us our menus and told us about today’s specials. I opted for a homemade lemonade as I don’t like syrup lemonades, their lemonade was very good you can taste the natural lime juice. We ordered Tamal en cazuela, Ropa vieja, vaca frita and Pechuga de pollo empanizada. Oh, I forgot we ordered ham croquetas as I had read some reviews that their croquetas were really good. First off the food was ok, I found it to be lacking flavor, salt. My husband said his Ropa vieja was alright, that the flavor of peppers was too strong. The croquetas were not as good as I had anticipated, I still prefer Casavanas croquetas. I ordered a cheese flan, I guess I am too critical but I didn’t like it. I have had cheese flan at other restaurants where the flan was creamy and smooth. Service was good; however, our waitress failed to come around to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. But she was good as far order taking, bringing the food and the checkout process.

Pesima experiecia. Stay away from this place! The only star is for the croquetas.

Want consistent Cuban food just like abuelita makes? Well this place has the sazon you’re looking for. Been here many times to satisfy my cuban cravings such as; vaca frita, masitas de puerco and rabo encendido. This place is as legit as they come and growing up eating this stuff its as good as the first day I had it. =) Btw, if you like croquetas this are the most unique kind in all of the city. They are so good you’ll probably get hooked on it and order a dozen then a croqueta preparada sandwich.(they’re that good, yes).

The opening of Finka has really done a number on islas canarias. Not sure if this location has been sold or if there has been a change of management but WOW! This used to be one of the go to spots and as of recent(4 – 5 months) I have noticed that the quality and food service has declined. Some examples: tasteless pan con bistec, salty sopa de pollo, cold croquetas, list goes on. This has happened over several visits, that’s how I know that there must have been some changes in that kitchen. It saddens me that such a landmark is going down the drain. Not sure how the older folks(many who have been clients for years and years) continue to eat the over the top salty foods that is now being served. My grandma had some of the soup and could not even finish the first spoon full due to saltiness.
