J D’s Pizzeria and Subs of California Club

After trying other delivery pizza places around and being unimpressed we decided to give this one a try. I placed an order for a large pizza with meatballs and olives and 6 garlic rolls. The man on the phone read my order back to me and within 45 minutes it arrived. Immediately we were disappointed. The pizza, instead of having meatballs and olives throughout had meatballs on one half and olives only on the other. This was one of the most bland pizzas I’ve ever had. There was barely any sauce and it tasted like plain cardboard. The garlic rolls were ok, definitely nothing special. We won’t be ordering from here again for sure.

I leave in Aventura and I’ve been coming to this place for years.
The pizza is delicious, if you are looking for good pizza, this is the place!

This place was soooooooo good! Anthony the guy that takes the order was super friendly and the service was great! Pizza was good I will be back soon :) they have pac games for 25 cents that you can play while u wait for the food! They have everyday specials as well

Carry Out time was quick I even grabbed a couple of slices while waiting for my white pizza to finish up and they were really good too. They have a couple of arcade games for the kids and a TV as well to keep you entertained while you wait for your food. Sweet spot, right off 95 too!

Meh. That’s how I can describe it.
Not the best pizza around, but sometimes you’re just desperate for a lil somethin’ somethin’.
I can say the best thing that I’ve had a JD’s is tier got subs. This is where they receive that extra star from me. The meatball sub is generous and has a good amount of cheese and sauce that balances out everything. It is warm, bread is crisp on the exterior and the rest just soaks up the goodness of the ingredients.
The pizza. Hmm. It seems like the use pre-​baked ready dough for the crust. The toppings never seem to incorporate with the pizza pie. It usually separates with the first bite and you have toppings hanging from your mouth and cheese and the rest of the toppings are on the plate. Fail!
Garlic rolls. These definitely have potential. But gosh, they are dry. When you order garlic rolls, you expect to get rolls that are drenched it garlic butter or oil and have it drip down your fingers. JD’s rolls have a light coat of garlic oil on top of them and as you take a bite into them they are just dry chewy bread rolls. Blehhh. When you have a craving for something and you get it and it disappoints, it just leaves you wanting it even more.
Hopefully they step it up a little bit and improve. I’d give them another chance.

I like to eat healthy as much as I possibly can. But sometimes a cheat day is inevitable when you’re on the go. The pizza here is TOTALLY WORTH A CHEAT DAY. They are not shy. each slice has soooo much cheese. I love this place. I waited 15 minutes for the 3 slices I ordered, because they were making them FRESH. Exactly how I like my food, healthy or not. I stuck a a few quarters in the retro Mrs. PacMan and Space Invaders game as we waited and I had a BLAST with the past and my 4 year old daughter did too. Will def eat here again soon.

Ok gave them another chance and WOW did they do a good job. Had superbowl party and ordered a ton of food. All of it was awesome and everyone loved the pizza, wings, 6 foot sub and salad. They were super nice to deal with. They arrived on time, were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond. Thanks!!!

Probably one of the best pizzas i’ve had here in florida, be warned they do not open on sundays.

I enjoy this place. This is not NY pizza though, this is something different. It’s thick and filling, yet delicious. The toppings come under the cheese, and oh believe me it is loaded with cheese. Don’t come here for NY pizza, but If you really wanna get «loaded» on cheese and dough and sauce this is the place. It’s like a family business dominoes style pizza done really well. Super filling. 3 stars for the pizza, 5 stars for the amazing anti-​pasto salad with the homemade dressing. It was amazing and loaded with salami, provolone etc. Worth the money. Very friendly service.

Straight up one of my favorite cheese steak sandwiches! Flavorful meat, perfect amount of cheese and onions. The bread is warm, toasty but not super crunchy and not soggy! Awesome! And the pizza is really good too. Good people.

One of the top three pizza places in south Florida to me. We all know the truth about pizza if it’s new york style, deep dish, or thin and crispy; what makes a pizza is the sauce. Their sauce is amazing, I could eat it with a spoon. Add to that wonderful sauce a crunchy crust, and some spectacular garlic rolls; and you have yourself a carb crash in the making.
WARNING: Do not eat this while at work, you will need a nap… and you will make me wait longer.

I was driving home late this evening and wondering what to do about dinner. Just over the hump of where Ives Dairy Road crosses the I-​95 I’m sitting at a light and I see it.
And then I remember.
And I remember that the review I read yesterday from Michelle was good. So I swing in, stroll inside and order one medium half cheese, half with black olives and a half dozen of these garlic rolls Michelle raved about.
Michelle’s review about the garlic rolls is spot on. They are freakin awesome! My kids are licking the garlic oiled bag as we speak (and thankfully they don’t have a first date or an important meeting tomorrow).
The Pizza is really really good! A 12inch medium gave us 8 slices, enough for three of us. It was freshly made and super hot by the time we got home. Love love LOVE the dough that both the pizza and rolls are made from. Its got this really nutty crunchy bite to it where its been exposed to the heat, but this really fluffy bread inside. The cheese is greasy, in a NY greasy sort of way.
I live about 5 mins drive from this place, I’ve been passing it for year and I have just programmed the number into my phone. Its that good. No more chain stores for me.
Delivery area is from County Line Road, to Miami Gardens Drive and then West to 441 and East to Aventura.
Check for the medium pizza and ½ doz. rolls was $ 17. Well worth it in my opinion.

Warning!!!
Do not eat the garlic rolls if you have an important meeting or 1^st date soon after.
They are good. They come in one of those heat protecting, foil lined bags and swimming in garlic oil. Yum.
I also like their stuffed shells. I don’t actually at pizza, but my family does and they love their pizza. Especially because they give you little packets of extras to sprinkle on top of your pizza if you like. Garlic powder, red pepper flakes, it allows each person to customize their slice of pizza without everyone having to order their own. Good idea.
