No matter what you do, avoid this place at all cost!
I took my Honda Accord 2009 there for an engine problem. The engine light would come on and I had trouble starting the car. Originally they told me they would charge me $ 500 to fix the problem, but when I showed up they had lowered the price to $ 350. That was a nice surprise!
Things went downhill fro there, I drove the car home only to have the SAME light and SAME engine problem come back within a few minutes of driving. In other words, whatever they DID do on the car (if anything at all) did NOT fix the problem whatsoever.
I had to bring it to Brickell Honda to have it fixed in the end. Turns out it was a problem with the battery. Brickell Honda changed the battery and the car’s been running smoothly ever since.
I called Japanese Auto Tech to tell them that the work they did on the car didn’t solve anything, but they dismissed anything I had to say. So basically I got scammed out of $ 350 by Japanese Auto Tech.
Do they not realize that people will leave bad reviews on Unilocal if they get bad service? Not only did I receive bad service, I pretty much got scammed, i.e. I paid for a «service» which did not fix my car.

We had a 2000 Honda Odyssey that we took here for many years. That car had been through hell and back, and they always took care of us here. They were always honest about the work that needed to be done, about anything we could do to save money and any bargains they could get on parts. Customer service is more than decent, and any time a previously repaired part failed, they were quick to replace it for free and as a high priority to minimize the inconvenience.
It’s not easy to find a quality mechanic/​repair shop, I highly recommend them!

I have a super hard time trusting mechanics. And trying to trust a mechanic in Miami is a hundred times harder. I put mechanics right up there with lawyers and politicians on the trustworthiness scale. That being said these guys do a great job and have never given me any reason to not trust them. This shop was right next to my old office, but even though they’re far from my new office I’ll make the trip to come back.

Surprisingly excellent service! I will become a regular here. $ 12 for four guys hand washing my car. Very humble men working very hard and giving great service.

I have been taking my car here for over ten years. This is the best garage in Miami. Always friendly, always clean and a good price.

I hadn’t washed my car since I purchased it, 4 months prior. And this was during rainy, threat-​of-​hurricanes-​looming season, so my white whale was practically grey. Plus, I had un-​strategically parked under many trees, so the sap and bird crap was an art form.
The brave men of Japanese Auto Tech waved me into the car washing port when I arrived at 8am in the morning, and had it spic and span (inside and out) by the time I had to get to work. All for $ 12 and a generous tip.
I will be coming back. Eventually.

This is a great place to wash your car. They do a great job with detail. Price for inside and out wash is $ 12.00. Very responsible people working here.

Best service ever! I’ve been a client for years! The owner is a great and friendly gentleman who is honest and hard working. I never had any hint of dishonesty or being scammed by this mechanic. I always recommend him to people I like.

Honest, Quick, Affordable. Great deal on oil changes, and car washes. They have been able to give me same day service both times I went there and had my truck fixed in hours. Highly recommended.

So I have changed my car’s oil in this place 2 or 3 times. Last time they told me the oil cap was damaged, and warned me that on my next oil change I would have to change the whole oil pan. I agreed. Next day my car was out of oil… the screw they put in was damaged too. I came back and the supervisor (or owner I’m not sure if he owns the place) didn’t take any responsibility, he said: I told you, you would have to change it. but yeah. he said next time… why did he do the oil change then if he knew it wouldn’t last? I would have change the whole thing but he said it wasn’t necessary yet… he didn’t offer not even an apology… I paid for an oil change that lasted 1 day not only my motor could have broke but seems like he just wanted the oil change money that day, and he knew I would have to comeback… taking advantage of women… that bothers me so much! I would never go back to this place… is a dirty way to make money…

The most honest, reliable and professional Japanese auto shop in Miami. We’ve had our Honda Accord serviced here for many, many years and diagnosis and repairs are always dead-​on and properly repaired. Thank you guys!

From the moment you walk in nothing but a great expirience. The guys really know what they are talking about. Took my 2010 Honda civic to get serviced and left very satisfied. Great prices and great service. They also have a car wash I’d like to try out.

I’m not sure what the car wash is called, but it has to be the best one ever. For $ 12 they wash my crossover inside and out like no other car wash.
I definitely recommend this place to anyone on this side of town. The wait is a bit long, but we drop off our cars and go have breakfast.

My grandparents have been long time customers of Japanese Auto Tech and when it was time get my husband’s Honda Accord serviced for 100k miles and my Honda Civic serviced for 30k, they suggested this place.
WOW! I went in on Thursday to just figure out what type of service was needed for my husband’s car as well as mine. Jose very thoroughly explained what was needed to me, and was more than patient with me when it was clear I had no clue how many cylinders my engine had.
We dropped my husband’s car off yesterday morning at 8am, in addition to the 100k mile service ($ 299, including spark plugs), he wanted the AC charged ($ 75), since it was not holding up to Miami summer hear. However, it turns out the AC did not charging but rather needed an AC hose replaced and some Freon added… the shop down sold us!
They told us forget the $ 75 service, you just need a $ 45 hose (parts & labor) instead. It was really refreshing to get honest answers from an car mechanic.
Also, the staff members spoke great English, which given the location, is an accomplishment in itself.
A word on pricing… for my 2009 Honda Civic Brickell Motors wanted to charge me $ 490 for the 30k mile service, at Japanese Auto Tech the same service costs $ 219.
Overall: HIGHLY recommended and I am very picky when it comes to the service industry.

My husband and I have taken our cars to Japanese Auto Tech for over 10 years. Ihosvany the owner is reliable, his work is always guaranteed, his prices are fair, and his employees are incredibly personable and knowledgeable.
He is ALWAYS realistic about the time work takes and more often than not, calls with the car ready BEFORE his estimated time.
I highly recommend this car shop.

The main mechanic at this shop was courteous and began inspecting my car almost immediately after I dropped off my civic. I had some major oil leaks throughout the engine and he called me within a couple of hours to explain what he found and what kinds of repairs he beleived were necessary. Standard service from most mechanics but he actually worked on my car right away and had it ready a couple of hours later and even waitied for me to arrive at his usual closing time to pick it up. He was very courteous, even took the time to show me the parts he changed in the engine and how to clean up the rest of the mess from the oil leaking.
Most importantly, the work he did was just what the car needed and I haven’t seen any more oil spots on my garage floor. Definitely a hardworking mechanic running a family owned shop. Easy to talk to, fair on the prices (I had compared with 2 other mechanics including the dealer), and has earned a returning customer.
I easily recommend Japanese Auto Tech.

The shop is clean and well-​maintained, which says a lot about how other business is handled.
The proprietor is honest, explains what is necessary and is always willing to show you exactly what and why he is making a repair.

I needed to get some major work done on my car, so I did a little research and ended up at this place. I got it in at 8am and they were done by three in the afternoon. The work was well done and the prices were very fair. They use all original parts from the manufacturer and don’t seem to cut corners. This is one of those rare businesses where the owner seems to believe in building a reputation of fair and honest business practices. To be perfectly honest, it’s refreshing to see. I highly recommend them.
–The 4 rather than 5 stars comes from the fact that I’m not sufficiently car savvy to absolutely know the quality of the work, but it’s been a couple months and the car is running really well, so it looks good.
