Tucked away in Brickell, my girlfriend and I went to Juana M, partly on account we had heard this place was romantic, partly because it was close, partly because we had a Groupon. We went on a Thursday for Dinner during Copa America. After we walked into the expansive room of post industrial loft style interior with modern touches, we moved to the first section of the restaurant which was a combination of loungey couches and a handful of high tops. That’s when we realized that the remainder of the restaurant, which clearly seats another 75 people was curtained off. And then I started to sweat and then so did my girlfriend. For a second we thought because the door was slightly ajar… and then we realized that there was no air conditioning. NOAIRCONDITIONING in Miami in June? WTF? That is definitely an interesting tactic to drive in new customers. We were hungry, we were seated, our thirsts needed to be quenched. Our server was friendly and attentive and she steered us to the Shirmp Curry appetizer. She failed to mention that the shrimps were breaded and spiced with antennas and all and then deep fried. Up for a challenge(and because I like to peel shrimp), I embarked on the task… after 4 shrimps and a couple of bites, I had to throw in the towel. This dish is not Argentinian, nor Italian, it felt more like Extra-Terrestrial. Not a good way to start… For the main course, our entrees — the churrasco and ribeye steaks were well cooked and delish — the vegetable sides that it came with were OK. Would we come back? Not without a coupon, nor without an affidavit from Miami-Dade Buidling Dept. asserting that the AC is working again. Maybe we’ll return in the Winter, and only to eat the steaks.

Wow! A restaurant experience right out of the Twilight Zone! At 8:15PM on a Thursday night, an empty restaurant that seats well over 100 people. I should’ve known better, but had faith in the Unilocal reviewers who rated the place nearly 4 stars on average.(Plus, I was in Miami on business and didn’t have any nearby alternatives at the ready). What a mistake! I started to think(and hope), «Maybe it gets going later because it’s Argentinian.» But that can’t be the case, I learned later, because the place closes at 10:30PM. We were two; each ordered a salad and the«thin» skirt steak. The waitress spoke not a word of English(although the menu was in English). It wasn’t until later that I realized she hadn’t asked how we would like our steaks done. Another very bad sign. I don’t have the time or energy to tell you in any exquisite detail how bad this dining experience was, so I will have to limit myself to the highlights: 1) They started blasting awful music such that I could not hear my dining companion(even though we were the only ones in the dining room). 2) My caipirinha had a lemon along with a lime and no sugar at the bottom of the glass. It was the worst caipirinha i’ve ever paid for. 3) The«steaks» arrived before the salads. 4) The«steaks» were tough and unevenly cooked; not what I think of as a skirt steak; more like a thick Steak’um. 5) The steak fries were nearly raw and in inedible. 6) When my «Caesar» salad arrived, the chicken was so hot it had wilted the lettuce; plus the dressing had no resemblance to a Caesar dressing and the croutons could choke a horse. 7) The clueless waitress never offered or brought water. 8) The place had the gall to add an 18% service charge and also suggest an additional tip. 9) No one asked us how we liked our meals or even said goodbye as we left. I would advise to avoid this place at all costs. I can only presume that it is some sort of front(now that I think of it, the host seemed surprised to see us enter) because it is not a restaurant that is making any effort to survive.

The only positive thing I can say about this place is the skirt steak. Service is terrible even though the place is always empty. Salad bar had bugs flying around so who knows how the long the food has been sitting there. Location is convenient and venue has potential but the service totally diminishes the experience of dining here. Server did not ask what we wanted to drink although other customers had it on their table. We were told not to sit at the bar with no particular explanation although the place was literally empty. Won’t come here again.

Best kept secret in Brickell. The Food os Incredible. Original, Best salad bar in Miami, argentina beef and wine. TOP of class. A place to relax in a great ambiance while enjoyIng a great Malbec and beef, or salad. or pasta.or even a Burger. The Music. it has it all. But most of all a place for a cool down after a long Day or before hitting the bars and clubs. This is for conosseurs. Love it and try to have Dinner here as often as I can when I am in Miami.

We got lucky because we came at 4pm so we had pretty much the whole restaurant for ourselves. Nevertheless, I am sure that the feeling we had would have been similar even if the place was crowded. Juana is an excellent manager and advised us wisely on the food. The skirt is exceptional, perfectly cooked and tender. Décor balances between raw concrete and old wood which I love. Go there without a doubt!

The ambiance was beautiful, but the service was poor and the food took forever to come out. Management needs to get it together. Would not recommend.

We were literally the only party in the entire restaurant, yet we waited one hour for our food to arrive. The food was only so-so for most people in our party, and mine was just bad. They were out of a lot of things too. It was weird and I would never go back.

Juana M hit the spot! My girl and I both got the chicken, one with pepper sauce and the other with mushroom sauce. Both sauces are homemade and tasted absolutely amazing especially with some veggies mixed in. On top of our amazing meal they also have a salad bar which really topped off our entire dinner. If you’re looking for a place with beautiful décor and quality food, then Juana M is where you want to go when in the brickell or downtown area. 5 star food with 5 star service!

This one of those hidden Restos you just happen to find by going into the back. It’s an amazing, very large, open concept restaurant with the spirit of the best of Buenos Aires’ Palermo district just located in the heart of Brickell. The place has very nice fusion of modern and vintage décor. With all kinds of spaces: big and small tables, tall tables with stools, lounge couches with giant coffee tables both inside and outside, pool table, very nice bar. When I went they had live music too featuring a guy singing and playing an acoustic guitar, very nice calm rock covers. I don’t know if this is an everyday thing but it was very nice and felt just right with the mood. The food is excellent too. Nice fusion of Argentinian and American cuisine. The price wasn’t bad considering the quality and type of food they serve. They also feature a nice wine selection(most of them from Argentina, which one of my favorite regions for wine). They also feature daily specials and executive menu on weekday lunch. Bottomline, this is a highly recommended, place. Specially if you plan going on a date. 100% recommended!!!

The place is just blah … They have lunch specials which make sense if you want to eat steak, chicken or salmon. Otherwise you can’t have a decent salad. Their salad bar leaves a lot to wish for. The other menu options are very expensive for the type of food your are getting.

How is this place still in business? I have tried this place on several occasions. On its best night, it was average food and below average service. However, tonight was my worst experience. I stopped in for a night cap and ordered a drink. After waiting 20 minutes for the drink order to be delivered, I decided to say goodbye and just leave. It didn’t appear that they the bartender had even begun to make the drink. I would have understood if the place was packed, but there were no more than 2 tables with people in a very large restaurant. After getting about a block away, the manager runs me down and insists that I pay for the drink. When I told him that the drink was never brought to me, he insisted that«the kid» said he made the drink and brought it to me. I am assuming the kid means the bartender, who appeared to be completely mystified by the cash register the entire time I was waiting for the drink. My friend and I confirmed that we never got the drink and finally the manager apologized and walked away. Had the manager looked at the table where we were sitting, he would have known that nothing was delivered to us. Considering he ran me down like I was a common criminal, I felt embarrassed for him and offended for me. I think that you can assume I will never step foot in that place again. It is too bad, because the place is conveniently located in my building.

One of the most beautiful and romantic restaurants in Miami area. The place has a lot of space if you planning a big party, it offers space outside and inside. Inside they have a life music, doomed lights and atmosphere itself is really traditional for some South American and European countries. Outside they have beautiful sofas and lights that gives Espanola way feeling. The drinks are tasty and happy hour has some good deals on it. Food is Argentinian, so if you are a fan of salty things, you will definitely enjoy it. Staff is friendly and helpful. The best word to describe Juana M is cozy. That’s the place to have a glass of wine, relax, talk and listen to good music.

Came here for happy hour and had empanadas and wine, decent price, beautiful place but a bit quiet and no vibe for happy hour, it would be a decent setting to read a book, but otherwise has a kind of dead atmosphere.

Oh brickell, I hate you. The first thing i thought when i walked up to JM was«that looks cosy». Second thing was«‘goshdarn’ i cant ‘frickin’ breath, we’re being gassed!». I don’t know if I just came at the wrong time but there were about 327 incense burning right by the entrance and i literally almost died of asphyxiation. Literally. I had a sirloin steak and tried the skirt steak off of my brother’s plate — both were mediocre. I also had a bit of the ‘Potato gnocchi malfatti’ and surprisingly that was better than the steaks. The«buffet» is actually a salad bar — they did have 2 – 3 selections of some sort of Argentinian finger food but it’s a salad bar… not a buffet. Buffet implies being able to raise your cholesterol by 100 points — get your act together Juana. Aside from that, the waiter forgot about us. I didnt really care about this because i have legs and can fetch my own $ 3 tiny soda. This place looks nice and has a laid back atmosphere with a bunch of cheesy looking fancy folk, but honestly you’re better off giving your wallet a break and going to a chain restaurant. I’d go again — only if someone else was picking up the tab.

Wow! What great service we received here! We came in the late afternoon so we were the only ones in the restaurant. I had my dog with me and they allowed her in and gave her a bowl of water… an immediate good impression. The owner happened to be there and she was so nice! When she noticed my milanesa wasn’t up to her standards she had the waiter return it and make some changes. I highly recommend coming here for the salad bar. It’s $ 18 and includes a gorgeous spread complete with beans, rice, croquetas, platinitos, honey carrots, oh my! Also, you can add the salad bar to any entrée for no additional charge. I think this is a little hidden gem. Definitely going back here!

Came here with some friends for happy hour and to catch up. The décor in this place is gorgeous… I was totally digging the white couches, chandeliers, soft lighting… Now the music was a bit loud considering the place was empty … I can’t say anything about the food since we didn’t try any, but the happy hour offers $ 5 wine, beer, mojito until 8pm. Nice place in brickell… will try again at some point to see how the food is.

Horrible. Bad service and full of excuses. I made a reservation for saturday night for me and my girlfriend. Was looking for a nice place to enjoy some steak and a glass of wine. We arrived at the location and it was completely empty on a saturday night around 8pm! Well I had a weird feeling but I thought«What could go wrong? Let’s enjoy some silence, a nice décor and a great service!» We stopped at the door looking at the empty room and only one employee behind the bar. I waited 5min before I said out loud«HELLO» so he stopped looking at his phone. No english. He said we could sit anywhere. Great. We choose the outside. Then he goes inside and disappear. 15 minutes and no menus. No water. Nobody. The owner(Juana) came by to greet us and I asked for the menu and some drinks. 30min in total and nothing. Drinks come. The kid who greeted us at the beginning was probably a bar-back and had extremely dirty hands. We asked for some recommendation and we order: Fries w/Garlic and Parsley: Meh. Nothing special. Tenderloin Steak: So plain. No seasoning. No salt. Potato Gnocci Malfatti w/Pink Sauce: Too sweet. Poor quality and flavor. Another 20min to remove plates from the table. At this point I am furious. I worked in the industry and I know how a restaurant should be. Any hole in the wall would do better than this. I called the owner. I started explaining to her what was wrong. I want to criticize so she could improve. But she kept interrupting me and trowing excuses: «Oh we are not busy so I hire that kid… Oh my cooker is alone… oh I like food very sweet…» I could care less. For me BS. As a business owner you listen what your customers are saying and then you fix. She brings me the check back. Not one apology. This place sucks. I will never come back or referral to a friend.
