The typical Venezuelan empanadas are as good as the homemade ones! Big and stuffed with generosity. The food is delicious, well made, hearty and healthy. The arepas are the classical ones, and the best part is that you decide how thin you want it. The also offer the«operadas» which is an empanada that they open and stuff with more things like avocado or cheese. If anybody ask me where to eat empanadas in Miami, this is the place I recommend. Good for breakfast, brunch, lunch, snacks or dinner. They have very good prices also. I rather have an arepa with Asado Negro(beef stewed) than a hamburger and will probably pay a lot less.

If you didn’t grow up eating greasy fried empanadas don’t expect to like them.

I really love the Pabellon Empanada, I’m from Venezuela, my sister had an Empanada place there, so I know some stuff about Empanada, they had very tasty empanadas, I really like the salsas to put on it, I even had space for a(not so) little Pan de Bono, my only hope it’s they bring some Malta Light just because I can’t have the regular one.

These people know what they are doing, no questions asked. The place is tiny and crammed and reeks of fried stuff but the food is on point. Being Venezuelan I have been stuffing my face with cachapas, arepas, tequeños, and empanadas from the womb. I honestly have no complaints about the food, the service, or anything. Their queso Guayanes is amazing, their empanada de Pabellon is crazy good, and their arepas are serious. I placed an order to go on Sunday morning — I showed up and it was ready and waiting for me. My only complaint this time is their amazing green cilantro mayo — for some odd reason the batch I took home tasted like nail polish(serioiusly!) so we had to discard it which sucked b/c that stuff is heavenly — good thing I had my own home-made version @ home so we managed to survive. I forgive them, in my eyes these people can do no wrong. Love love love!!!

where to start? i guess i made a mistake and should have gone for their empanadas instead of their arepas. anyways, i came here for lunch today because ive been craving a ‘reina pepiada’ arepa since i had it in queens for the first time. so last week, i overhead this venezuelan guy at work saying that la crema de las empanadas had some great arepas, specifically ‘la reina pepiada’. sweet i thought. not so much. there were a couple of things that annoyed me about this place. like, their arepas. im not expert on this topic at all. but ive researched before going off at this. a reina pepiada has shredded chicken, avocado, mayo and pepper(usually). all of these ingredients are mixed together and served into the arepa. well, the ‘reina pepiada’ i got today was just chicken and mayo. and they nicely topped it with a thin slice of avocado. mmm not the same? the arepa itself was greasy, very greasy. i dont see how they are authentic, unless im absolutely insane. i also had a small, very small cup of beef soup which was good. another thing. whats up with the tv tunned into some sort of anti-chavez channel? i mean, not that i care about chavez or even get into politics. but, precisely for that very same reason. cant you find a better station to tune in? how about some musical videos? something else thats not politics? oh wait, what if you start showing the crucifixion of jesus h christ instead, followed by the glorification of jihad in the middle east? oh no, that wouldnt be smart either. so, mediocre arepas plus being surrounded by a group of blinded recalcitrants? no thank you. i might get an empanada to go next time, and ill make sure to wear my mccarthy t shirt.

Delicious Venezuelan-style empanadas(made with yellow corn dough). I liked the empanada de pabellon. This place has a feel of a typical Venezuelan empanaderia and it also seems to be that they’re a big fan of Vinotinto, the Venezuelan soccer team. The owners of the place used to own the best empanaderia I’ve ever tried by Porlamar, Isla de Margarita, Venezuela. Very authentic. But the best Venezuelan empanadas I’ve had so far in Miami? La Reina de las Empanadas in Doral.
