This place is ghetto. This one guy that I think was the manager, complained across the room to another employee that he didn’t write down 3 quesillos, that he only wrote down 2. REALLY? You can’t just use a pen and correct it? You had to make a huge show in front of everyone about it? You really had to humiliate an employee, that’s not cool. That was, strike 1. Strike 2: There was only 1 table with 3 chairs available. Otherwise, you have to either eat standing up, or sit on an uncomfortable bench that has rips in the upholstery. My son dropped his juice because it was really uncomfortable eating while juggling food on your lap. It is not family friendly at all, they finally brought out these flimsy foldable trays and they didn’t even bother to replace my son’s drink. I had to purchase another one Strike 3: We spend over $ 30.00 worth of food and drinks between 2 people, and I was still freakin hungry, we should of gone to ihop. In other words, their food and drinks are overpriced and there is no where to sit, and no one speaks english. Everything is, si si si si

Generally saying, I liked the place, it’s very clean, well organized and has a convenient location. My husband is originally from Nica, so for me this traditional food has some special meaning. We came to this café for the first time(shame on us:-D), because I saw one of my Unilocal friends visiting it, and it looked very attractive on the pictures, by the way it also had outstandingly good reviews. Here is my verdict to La Pulperia: I would of given it 5 stars, if gallo pinto wasn’t so dry. And I don’t honestly know if that’s because we came already by the end of the day or it’s just how they make it. I’m a big fun of Nicaraguan style fried cheese, and I have to admit without any hesitation — here they know how to make it! Little pricey, for such place — I was expecting less financial damage;) But that’s ok, what money in the world you wouldn’t give for Nicaraguan food!))

Authentic Nicaraguan Store and Café(Pulperia Nica). Great food at reasonable price. I love the pastries and the«atolillo». Nice and clean atmosphere. The attendants are nice and friendly. Great service. I highly recommend La Pulperia Nicaraguense anytime.

They’ve got picos, perrereque, pio quinto, sopa borracha, cacao molido, frescos, tortas, rosquillas and I can go on and on. And that’s just the stuff they have out on the counters. There’s also stuff you can order from the kitchen(which btw you can call ahead and order). This place is definitely one of the best places to get some good authentic Nicaraguan food. How do I know? My parents quit going to El Centro Comercial Managua(which is just a few blocks down) and started hitting up this joint instead. My relatives from who live in other parts of the U.S. stack up on goodies from here before they leave. Great food at a really good price too. Really great service. They’re very attentive and you’re in and out fairly quickly.

I absolutely love La Pulperia! This place is adjacent to Madroño and owned by the same brothers/family. Authentic Nicaraguan, fresh cooked food. Very clean. Great service. Here you can order Nica, Cuban or American coffee or have a treat, from Pio Quintos to Pico Costeño or cake & other Nicaraguan treats. Have a surprisingly deliciously refreshing Flax seed drink, fresh OJ or Atol(a typical Nicaraguan punch like rich, warm drink). You can also or some typical meals to eat in or for take out or catering. There’s only one table here with four chairs and a bench which most of the times is occupied. This and the sister restaurant next door are gold mines not surprising; great food, great service, great reasonable prices. One of my favorites!

This place is a true gem! My mom had told me about it a few times before I finally made my way down there… And it was so worth it! They have so many sweets and treats, I didn’t know where to begin! I ended up getting about 3 different assortment of things(including a tres leche that was heavenly)! Everything was so fresh and tasty and the customer service was outstanding. Very friendly, warm staff. I haven’t tried the food from there yet, but Its in my very near future! Oh and I appreciated the modern décor and other nice touches! Will be coming here often!

Good food. Good service. Consistently fresh. A true Nicaraguan treat. Order the baby Churrasco with gallo pinto and you won’t be disappointed. The flan with an espresso is an excellent desert choice. They sell lots of other treats and trinkets that seem to be quote the hit with the locals who come in.

Great service, I’m always greeted with a smile. I love the fact that this is not a «fritanga» yet you can order food to go as well as stocking up on some baked goodies. I come at least once a week and can never tire of the many choices available.

I’m ashamed to say that my sister who lives in Seattle discovered this place before I did. Perhaps I hadn’t looked there because it’s located in the Sedano’s Sweetwater strip mall and I don’t usually find myself hanging out there. It’s rare that she raves about a place so I decided I should check it out and I’ve found myself going back a couple of times since… They have so many great things that I don’t know where to start! Well, let’s start by my favorite: the cream cheese flan. I’ve never had anything like that, it was heaven! They have great natural juices and awesome atolillo… I don’t want to rant, but I’ve liked pretty much everything I’ve had there!

Awesome little Nica shop for the 1st generation Nicas. By that I mean this place has a nice, modern feel to it. Great place to bring your american friends. They have awesome juices on «tap». Check them all out if you can. Their atolio is heavenly. And their tiny pineapple and chicken pastries are doughy, and addictive. 3 for a dollar? Yes. All the time. Do check out.

La Pulperia is an establishment right next to Madronos restaurant. Pulperias are like a chain of Nicaraguan«bodegas» that sell all sorts of Nica favorites. Be sure to try jalea de guayaba(guava marmalade) and of course Milca brand soda! The place is really nicely kept and and has a nice sitting area. My Nica boyfriend quotes, «This has to be the nicest pulperia I’ve ever set foot in.» He may be right! Be sure to stop inside for an insider’s taste of Nicaraguan food and culture.
