I am not sure if this is indicative of every location for Lee’s Sushi but this is about the 28 W Flagler St location. Upon entering the location, the waitresses had no idea an online menu existed on their website. They didn’t know common terms used with sushi and donburi bowls. After begrudgingly ordering a «pork fried rice», it was a soy sauce vegetable rice mix with stray pieces of pork. Upon eating it, I found several pieces of cartilage and found a sharp bone. This is unacceptable. I will never be visiting Lee’s Sushi ever again.

Love the place for Sushi, served by the owner, flavorful, fresh and made by order, looks clean, organized and they make sure you have everything to enjoy your meal experience from sauces to chop sticks.

This place is TINY! I ordered takeout from here today for the first time. I was a little skeptical once I arrived to pick up my lunch since the location was so small and there were no patrons. All my skepticism evaporated once I tried the first piece of Sashimi. One Unilocal reviewer was correct in their assessment of the freshness. The fish was vibrant and super delicate. The prices are a bit higher than other sushi spots in downtown, but for the quality you get here, you can’t go wrong. Also the chef is very friendly and approachable. I think I’ll eat there next time to be able to watch him work.

The worst restaurant ever. Food is disgusting and look at the way it arrives. Run run as you still have time.

Wish I could give 6 stars! I ALWAYS order from here! My food gets here in about 15 mins, sometimes 10 since I live close by in the Overtown Area. Never have had a bad experience. The food is consistently good quality and most importantly they never forgot the eel sauce! I recommend the crab salad.

I placed an order for delivery and it took longer to place the order than it did to receive our food. The girl didn’t understand anything and I had to repeat my address about 5 times. Don’t know if it was that she only spoke Spanish or she was new. After all that, the food was delicious! Sushi fresh and the rolls were really good! Worth it!

lees is awesome. not elegant. not fancy. none of that froo froo shit you probably like. but lots of delicious rolls and other sushi goodness. small location for sure. only a couple of tables and a small counter space. but they deliver so if you live within the boundaries of civilization, you could potentially get some delivery right to your place and even through eat24. this way you don’t even have to speak to any human being and that my friends is awesome.

I used to live in Japan so I’m pretty well versed is sushi. This place was awful. The fish was slimy. The rice in the rolls was over cooked. Even the miso soup was bad. Never eating here again.

I found this place on Eat24 and have been ordering ever since I moved to downtown in August 2014… I have yet to be disappointed. I am a sushi addict, I eat it almost once a week. It tastes consistently good and fresh to me every time. I stick to salmon or tuna rolls only, basic rolls. I decided to give them 5 stars instead of 4 because lately I have been ordering rolls with different add ons and specific alterations and they always do it without charging extra. Big kudos for that. Not to mention the fast delivery! I usually order sashimi appetizer(I request all salmon, for $ 10 and 9 pcs that’s a deal! Anywhere else would like 18 $), jb roll, Miami heat roll, orange california and my husband always gets the green dragon. You can’t go wrong with those. *I also felt compelled to give an extra star since I became pregnant, I have been craving salmon sashmi, I have it about every two weeks or so(sometimes once a week)… My baby and I didn’t die, So believe me, it’s fresh enough(Eating only the salmon tho).

I’m really sorry to read the bad reviews. Perhaps things have changed since I used to frequent Lee’s. The price of the food *is* a valid concern. If most dishes went down in price by a couple of dollars, I think the mood of the reviews would be different. But, food costs a certain amount of money and I never figured out the price structure of Downtown rent. We all know that(at least a portion of) these costs are passed on to the consumer… so what to do? Given the dearth of options in the area as well as the(former?) quality of product you get, Lee’s was an excellent choice for your Downtown wants/eats. As anyone who’s spent more than a week in Miami can tell you, there’s not a lot going on Downtown for casual eating after a certain time(6pm? 7pm?). If you live Downtown and want to eat AND don’t want to travel far out of your neighborhood AND don’t want to have to dress up and drop a chunk of cash, your options are limited. That’s why when Lee’s opened, I was psyched. Granted, it was on a dark corner in the middle of nowhere(welcome to Downtown at nighttime) and there were few people inside(the faster for me to get my food) but I had a good feeling about this little shop that could. And, that feeling was right. Despite my aversion to most things mayo, my order was the same: spicy crab salad, caterpillar roll and rainbow roll. The salad was a beautiful(seriously, very pretty) combination of seafood, crunch and flavor. It tended to skew to the very(for me) mayonnaise-y, so I could vacillate between it and the spicy conch or octopus salad. The caterpillar roll satisfied my love of and need for avocado and eel while the rainbow roll was a massive hoss of a roll that combined the everydayman nature of a California roll with tuna, salmon, whitefish, sesame seed, and avocado. Pair this lot up with a crisp Pinot Grigio and you have a party in my apartment. Well, you always had a party in my apartment. This just involved sushi. I hope that Lee’s manages to reclaim the glory of when it first opened and that those in the neighborhood continue to support it. There’s not a lot to choose from in Downtown and it would be a shame to lose a property that has so much promise. Choose wisely, Miami.

Been to Lee’s a couple of times since my original review and was satisfied, but tonight I got a take out order and was extremely disappointed. Green Dragon Roll — WAY too much rice, the tempura shrimp was soggy, and the avocado was slimy. Not fresh at all. Spicy Crab Salad — Very mushy… all mayo and not enough crab to give it any structure. Couldn’t even eat it. JB Roll — Husband was okay with it, which is why I’m giving two stars. On top of that, they’ve raised their prices and delivery is no longer free. Sad that I’m going to need to find a new close place for sushi.

The sushi was awful! My ordered said it would include masago mayo and scallion and all I got was tempura shrimp and avocado with rice. The soy sauce was equally gross. Never again!!! On the bright side, if u like gross sushi, the deliver really fast.

A hole in the wall mom and pop sushi joint is a dime a dozen, but this little gem is amazing! We dinned in and had an app and roll each! The people are super friendly and the little cozy place has a warm feel to it! Enjoy!

Great quality sushi! I ordered delivery, and it arrived in a timely manner and with good presentation. BUT beware, their rolls have WAY too much rice in my opinion. Honestly would of given them 3 stars because of the rice problem but the fish was just so darn good.

Don’t let the shady location scare you away. This place is legit. Some of the best sushih downtown(not that the competition is very high, but still). Have tried most rolls and they’re all good. Have had it there and had it delivered, both good. Always fresh, always fast, always delicious. Something downtown could use more of.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think they were killing the tuna in a back room a few seconds before serving it. It’s. That. Fresh. As other reviewers noted, the sashimi is sliced thicker than at other places so 6 pieces is really more like 8 pieces. Kind of expensive as a takeout place and too dumpy/small for a business lunch but good for an occasional treat.

I’ve walked by this new sushi place a couple of time and it’s ALWAYS empty. I decided to check it’s reviews on Unilocal and was pretty impressed by the fact that it was 4 stars. That’s not a common rating for a sushi restaurant in downtown. I usually bring my lunch from home because although I love venturing out to downtown, sometimes it can get a little pricey. Today I felt like having some sushi so decided to give this place a try. I called and ordered my food(the girl put me on hold for a while… annoying). I walked over after 15 – 20 minutes and as usual, the place was completely empty. Not a single soul there during lunch time. Weird. Ok let’s discuss the food since that’s ultimately the most important part of this review. I ordered the Tuna Tataki and the Fantasy Roll with an extra side of ponzu. Their sushi is fresh, really fresh. Probably one of the freshest sushi I’ve had in a very long time. I personally like my Tuna Tataki to be sliced a little thinner, but otherwise it was delicious. The Fantasy Roll was also sliced a little too thick, but also very delicious. Here’s the problem I have with this place… the price. I personally feel they need to lower their prices significantly for several reasons. 1. it’s a hole in the wall… some of the best restaurants are holes in the wall but for right now they are JUST a hole in the wall 2. they are a brand new place and don’t have enough clientele to have prices like these 3. they are always empty and because they are so expensive people won’t realize how great they are. The girl at the register told me that she was giving me their new menu because they raised all their prices by $ 1. Umm what? You guys opened like, yesterday, and you’re already raising your prices even more??? That’s ridiculous. They need to lower their prices by at least $ 2! I ordered 2 items and my total was $ 25.12!

Don’t let the nondescript corner location in Downtown Miami lead you astray. Lee’s Sushi is serving up some fresh sushi, sashimi, and rolls for lunch and dinner. The space is small, but the menu is large. Aside from some unique rolls and appetizers, Lee’s offers up more combination platters than you could possibly imagine. Want to mix-and-match your fish at lunch? Lee’s has a combo for you! I opted for the #26, which included a 10-piece California roll and 6 pieces of assorted sushi, which had 2 each of tuna, salmon and white tuna. Everything was fresh and delicious, though the roll had a touch too much rice for my liking. The whole combo was $ 11.99 plus tax and tip. I spied some other delicious dishes coming out from the sushi bar to other diners while I was there, so next time I’ll likely be trying the tuna tartare, the spicy crab salad, or the kamikaze roll. Service is fast and friendly, and the prices are great. The space is small — about 6 counter seats at the sushi bar, and a 2-person table inside, along with 2 or 3 small tables outside. If you’re coming in a large group, you may want to reconsider. Overall, with fresh and fast sushi with a smile in Downtown, Lee’s Sushi is a welcome addition!

This is downtown Miami’s best kept secret. On a typical late night Grub Hub hunt, I wanted sushi but wasn’t feeling the typical options. Lee’s Sushi pops up out of nowhere and boom. I’m sold. The menu looked awesome. The selections weren’t all wacky and deep-fried like their competitors. The rolls were reasonably priced. I had high expectations and they met ‘em. The delivery is fast and the product is outstanding. I’ve ordered from these guys a few times since then and even visited their modest little spot in person with my fiancé. It amazes me every time how fresh the ingredients are and the presentation. I get a Caterpillar Roll just about every time because of the beautiful avocado slices on top. Lee’s Sushi reminds me of New York establishments: tiny but mighty. Give these guys a shot and you probably won’t want to give anyone else the business. GOLEE’S, GO!

It looks like a typical divey sushi joint, but I can assure you it’s not. The sushi is so fresh and amazing! The rice is cooked perfectly, and the rolls are huge and very reasonably priced! I will be coming back again and again.
