My friends keep telling me to meet them at Panther Coffee in Wynwood and I keep telling them I’m not going anywhere near the place… I would rather meet at Lester’s and, you know what, once they try it, they keep coming back and back and back. It is an ideal neighborhood«something». It is a bar, of course, with great smiling service, cold beer and other drinks. It is a gathering place, with long communal tables, the little armchairs in the corner, the books, the bar with stools and more counter space on the wall, so you can choose what you want to do. It is a soothing bar too, with music that is not too loud, no loud noises, friendly people sitting at the tables… Some days I just bring my computer and sit there, not really even working(but pretending I do) just to absorb the vibes. That’s the kind of place it is.

Another daily office pick. Large tables, quite, plenty of room to work and think. Coffee in the morning, happy hour specials in the afternoon. Friendly staff and a very entertaining bathroom! Love it.

I love the look and feel of Lester’s. Considering the location, it could easily be pretentious — it’s not. I’ve gotten great service here when it’s been fairly empty. Friendly, talkative, helpful service on more than one occasion. But I’ve also witnessed a large group come in at one time and, understandably, service had to adjust. Yet and still, it wasn’t rude, just more succinct. I really like the main table that looks like it came from the teacher’s lounge, replete with teacher’s chairs from the front of the class.(I hope that was the intent of the design, anyway.) Retro photos all along the walls. Old-school music playing. There’s a ping-pong table and then other games stacked up in a corner. A nice, relaxing and laid-back scene for hanging out with friends or a date for a couple that’s been dating or otherwise together for some time. I’ve had yummy espresso and DELICIOUS vegan chocolate gelato at Lester’s. Very reasonable prices. I don’t think they have a kitchen but they do host scheduled dinners featuring various food trucks. One last thing: Make sure to take a pen into the bathroom so you can leave a message on the wall.

Lester’s has an interesting vibe. Kind of like your neighborhood coffee shop, kind of like a college hangout with intellectual magazines, kind of like a hippy minimalist bar with nice selection of craft beer. So you either feel awkward, or at home. I like to go there because it’s the home of Bookleggers, the pop up library.

I’ve stopped by here a couple of times to study in the afternoon, and it’s a nice coffee shop to get some work done. There are 2 large tables to set up your laptop and the wi-fi is free and fast you just have to ask one of the workers for the password. The coffee is a bit on the expensive side but is decent quality, doesn’t quite compare to Panther coffee across the street. The beer selection isn’t bad and they have some quick snacks. I tried the empanada and it wasn’t bad. It’s a good place to set up shop for the afternoon if you’re ever looking for a nice place to do some work.

Good place to have a beer and watch some Comedy. Been here several times to see their comedy show and drink some beers. Good local comedians and beer. Place has communal seating and a outside area. Never had a Bad Time Here.

I am hesitant to write this review because it might mean I’ll never find a seat at Lester’s! Lester’s is a rare find in Miami. They have a casual environment that’s good for meeting up with people, getting a cup of coffee, doing some work, and sipping a glass of wine. A unique combination for sure. I love the furniture. It includes two large table with a hodgepodge mix of chairs. There is also seating along the wall and at the bar. I like that they also have outlets which pull down from the ceiling. This makes it easy to charge up, but not trip anyone!

Theres so much to love here. For starters, it’s the relaxed no-frills environment that is super welcoming. Always clean, always simple, and a perfect place to work from, have a meeting or chat with a friend over coffee. Speaking of which, the coffee is pretty good and theres a nice wine and beer selection, they also do this beer and ginger ale drink that is the most refreshing thing ever for a summer day. Theres a nice variety of cool magazines to pickup(really, stuff I don’t see anywhere else) and some nice basic snacks to go with your café. The owner Daniel is there often and a very nice guy. Always some good music on and never too loud to be annoying. Whenever I want to get out of the office and work from somewhere else, this is where I do it.

This is the kind of place you can go to have coffee, treats and study or meet with friends. What I like about it? Big communal tables and a couple vegan treats [get more please! =) ] (There’s also beer and snacks)

Not 1 day before first walking through the door did I shave my mustache. I would have fit right in and perhaps gotten a discount on a beer. A wall in Lester’s is covered in pictures of dudes with ‘staches. Bill Murray is my favorite, for obvious reasons. The beer selection is pretty good, but I wish it would have been either more diverse or cheaper. My boo ordered a Riesling that was over $ 10 for a small glass and it tasted like pino grigio. The vibe the cool, I guess. There was a book event going on so the mood was kinda nerdy but not offensively so. Next time I’m in the neighborhood, I’ll go back.

Calling all nerds!(And hipsters, and coffee lovers, and Wynwood art junkies for that matter). Lester’s is a cool, calm café for the mobile grad student or workaholic. It’s one of the few coffee shops where I find I ACTUALLY get work done(as opposed to being lured into the soft couches and dim lighting that inevitably leads to Facebook stalking). I’d like to give credit to the funky cafeteria-style drafting tables and industrial-chic vibe — but whatever they’re doing works, and I know YOU’LL be doing your work. Unless I happen to be there and use you as a distraction from MY work.

The good: Empandas(crazy good!) The bad: Overpriced($ 9 for wine? $ 6 for beer? This isn’t an upscale restaurant!), one bathroom per gender(ie wait time), long wait for them to heat up food(not fresh made) Good enough to stop in, not good enough to make a trip out of.

Great place to hang. I love Lester’s. Is it the handsome mustache’s everywhere? Maybe. But most importantly, there aren’t enough places in this town where you can just hang out, read, drink a coffee, do a little work, etc. I really like the pace at Lester’s. I also like the somewhat amorphous concept it has. Part coffee shop, part bar, part eatery. It’s just cool. Great place to meet for drinks on Second Saturdays or any time.

Rally your hipster friends and head over to Lester’s! This diner cum trendy hangout serves up some basic snacks(empandadas, sandwiches, cookies) along with a fair assortment of coffee, teas, wines, and beers for pretty reasonable prices. While the beer list wouldn’t satisfy your more discerning friends, I give them credit for dabbling with the craft options and even offering up Radler. The décor isn’t exactly comfortable nor cozy(it’s actually kind of spartan), but it does have shelves with plenty of reading material and free WiFi. The side wall with a collage of men with various mustaches is both disturbing and amusing. My friends and I had quite the fun time trying to pick our«favorite»(and the most creepy) while waiting for our turn at the dart board. They’re open late and the music is a fairly eclectic mix. If you’re in Wynwood and checking out the area, it’s an enjoyable stop. The night we went they had some promotion with generous cups of free vodka, and I know they host other special events like a monthly dinner series in collaboration with the geniuses from Gypsy Kitchen.

Totally digging this place. Very relaxed atmosphere and awesome DJ! I was totally loving the music and everyone seemed to be enjoying it too. I didn’t try anything of the menu but I am looking forward to go back. I am not sure if it was because of Art Walk but this place seemed to have a great vibe.

I lived in the hipster section of San Francisco before moving to Miami this month. There they have what they lovingly — okay, condescendingly — call«Third Spaces,» a general utilitarian place where people can drink and eat and work and have delightful social events like night. Kind of like how they converted The Peach Pit to The Peach Pit: After Dark on 90210. They had one across the street from my apartment, the now closed SummitSF. Lester’s definitely has the spirit of SummitSF — a general utilitarian space where people work during the day and they have events at night. And as a freelancer who doesn’t have a permanent office and café hops, this is a pretty good place to work: big bright windows, wi-fi, long café style tables with not a ton of people so it’s not too occupied.(Okay, the place in SF never had cigarettes for sale, but c’mon, it’s San Francisco.) There are some things that could be desired: the daytime service could be a little friendlier, or at the very least, less apathetic.(The«hipster» excuse isn’t cutting it; Panther’s service is pretty good.) And yes, +1 for the food, although they do have lunch combos which consist of a sandwich and chips. But as far as a work environment, it’s way better working here than, say, a Starbucks or Panther, which has smaller tables and can get loud due to the coffee grinding machine.

I have to agree with a lot of my fellow Unilocalers… there’s just something about this place that doesn’t fully do it for me and I don’t know why. I was wandering around Wynwood during Basel weekend and I found myself doing some soul searching when all of a sudden I decided that a cup of Joe could help me out, and there it was, Lester’s. I walked inside and a perplexed feeling immediately took over me. To the left, racks of magazines and a couple of cozy tables shared by the readers, to the right, a DJ booth with some couches where kids straight out of the Urban Outfitters Christmas catalog were lounging. The entire placed seemed sort of «bleached» and lacked a certain degree of comfort, which is what I look for when I get some coffee… cozyness. Hmmm. I proceeded to the counter and read their menu, alright, not varied but enough items that could make a difference. Something notable is that they serve craft wines and beers, so that’s certainly a pleasant twist. I played it safe and ordered a Latte, which to my surprise, was one of the best Lattes I’ve had in a while. I proceeded to sit in one of the bar stools to suck-in the ambiance, still somewhat of a hard pill to swallow, not helping the already confused and lost mood I carried with me. All of a sudden the kid on the DJ booth started playing Rebirth, one of my favorite Nola brass bands and I kid you not, tears ran down my cheeks(yeah I was emo… dont judge) In the time span of five minutes, this really awkward place took my heart in its hands and with a small Latte and the best music I could have asked for, lovingly caressed it. But I wonder, had this particular song not played could I feel any more prone to this establishment? I will leave it with a 3 and the benefit of the doubt. I will certainly come again when my feelings are not splattered all over the Wynwood walls and see how I feel about it then.

Lester’s is hipster’s paradise. It is pretty much a spot with four white walls, a few benches, and a bar that offers beer, tea, and snacks. Lester’s is the bare necessities for a bar. What did I like? First, they offer Dale’s Pale Ale. It is a good beer at a bargain price. Second, they had a movember wall. A dedication to men with mustaches. Who cares it’s December now. Third, the benches is always good to form new friendships. It fosters meeting strangers. What did I not like? The main dislike is the place lacked personality. It is somewhat a bland spot. It is a spot to grab one beer and move on to the next bar. I would return to Lester’s if I am in the neighborhood and want a Dale’s, but I am definitely not going out of my way to return.

I want to like Lester’s. I want to enjoy the quirky lines tacked on the bathroom walls, the bright space and the easy-on-the eye furnishings. But I don’t enjoy a coffee shop that’s too pretentious to serve decaf… Anything. After learning I couldn’t order a decaf latte at 4:30 in the afternoon, I settled on tea. I asked for mint. When I was given the tea bag, I read that it was actually caffeinated green tea with mint. I asked for an herbal tea, and the barista argued with me that the green tea with mint was herbal. Once we agreed on a truly decaf tea, she charged me $ 3.25. For a tea bag. I’m writing this review from Buena Vista Deli.
