This is the local latin america. Open 24 hrs. There isnt a lot of parking available in front of the restaurant. Even though there is a plaza next door with plenty of parking, customers of this place are not allowed to park there. On various occasions I see different people guarding the lot, looking to see who’s not supposed to be parked there to call the tow company. I usually come here for breakfast. They have various inexpensive options. They literally have breakfast options for $ 4 that include eggs, bacon, and toast. Plus, if your an FIU student you get 10% off. They also have pastelitos, which are pretty good. Their café con leche is awesome, I love it. The service is ehhh, not great. Servers always seem to be in a rush. Anytime I’m in the mood to not make breakfast, this is always a safe and budget friendly option for me.

It’s next to my job. i had no choice but to eat this. the place smells. The parking lot is full of nasty unknown puddles. food has gotten very greasy and gross. i Will never eat here again. Pastelitos are old and hard. i use to bring my sons for breakfast no thank you. picadillo is greasy.

I’m going to rate this place based on how likely I will order their chicken empanada again. 1 star is a compliment. Let me give you a hint, it does not taste like chicken. I had to spit it out into a napkin. My stomach will hate me in the morning. I nearly ate half of it because I was starving. Big mistake! It looks like they recycled yesterday’s empanada filling. PLUS it looked super old. Looks like they don’t like to throw away old food.

Pretty decent Cuban food at a reasonable price. The good thing is they add open 24 hours. Also the owner is part Lebanese so they serve Kiba but you gotta ask for it cause not on menu. Also excellent plantain soup!

Last week we visited Luis Galindo’s Latin American 2 restaurant on Coral Way for Sunday dinner around 9:30 p.m. The place was not full at all, we were promptly seated after we took a look at the board near the entrance which listed the daily specials. This business has another location on SW57th Ave. which is always full, we’ve been to this location numerous times. Now I see that they’ve also opened a location on SW72 St. How can a business owner who has enough money to run 3 restaurants not have enough money to pay for proper upkeep of those restaurants? The first thing we noticed about the Coral Way location is how run down it is, all the furnishings are old and scratched, missing paint in lots of places, the booth across from ours had a piece of duct tape holding up the one of the corners of the table. The owner should be ashamed of the condition of this restaurant. We found their prices to be very high for the quality of the food and the downtrodden overall appearance of the restaurant. The owner should pour some money into this location, spiff and clean it up, bring it into 2015 and perhaps then he could justify the menu prices. One waitress came with water, we asked her a couple of questions about the specials, turned out she knows nothing about food, her duties are related to setting tables and providing water. Another waitress came, I promptly asked her about the sizes in which one of the specials was offered, she had no idea, she said she ‘thought’ medium and large, I insisted that she find out the sizes and prices. Never saw her again. Another waitress came by, she took our order and had the prices for the specials. A few minutes later another space cadet came by to take our order! I’ve never seen so many waitresses floating around, not knowing much about food and prices, in a place that was almost empty. They brought toasted Cuban bread which was very greasy. The food arrived. Guiso de maiz for me which was good, not very good, not excellent, just good. My husband had the boneless breast of chicken, fried sweet plantains and white rice, his food was average. The guiso de maiz and the boneless chicken breast were about the only lower priced items, the rest of the items in the menu were grossly overpriced. I would have given 3 stars for the food, but the dismal overall state of the premises caused me to knock off 1 star. We won’t be back to this location. And next time we visit the SW57th Ave. location I’ll take the time to inspect my surroundings and write a review.

I totally love this place. We had been going there for years. For me is like my mom home cooking, the waitress always attentive. If you are craving for cuban food this is the place you should go. Affordable clean and fast service. I love it!

I found a baby cockroach in my food. I got a tuna sandwich for take out. I was at my house turned the tv on and started eating. I saw something wiggling in my papitas the little chips that come with the sandwich. I discovered a baby cockroach. This is so disgusting I can’t even deal with it. I eat here often. I’m calling the health department. This isn’t funny. I’m upset I really liked eating at this place. Man this sucks. I’ll attach photos and video of this.

Conveniently located at the intersection of Coral Way and 107th Ave, this traditional Cuban diner is a great venue to stop by and grab some grub with your college pals, which is why you see plenty of FIU students here all the time. It’s open 24⁄7 making it a good local go-to spot. I wouldn’t try to celebrate a special occasion or bring a date here. Sure it’s a tad grimy and could use a real make-over in the aesthetic sense, but their food is ONPOINT. I enjoyed a terrific Vaca Frita(fried steak) with a side of mashed potatoes and yuca. The portion sizing is generous and left me with extras to take home. Be sure to grab a glass of vino tinto(red wine) which sells for only $ 2.50. The outdoor bar seemed to have a pleasant vibe: just not as clean and shiny as what you might be used to seeing. Be sure not to leave your Spanish at home: the level of service you receive here is exponentially better if you attempt to assimilate and habla the Espanol!

I really wasnt happy with how they treated me when i was there. i am not a spanish speaker so i tried my best to get steak and eggs with fries and i end up with bacon and eggs with fries and this server asks me why i order that instead of steak. Since i am the customer, i know what i have ordered and it wasnt Bacon and eggs with Fries. It also took them like 20 minutes to process my payment. i really wasnt happy with my experience.

Only giving it two stars due to the 24⁄7 hours. Other than that it’s not good food and slow service. If u don’t speak Spanish this isn’t the place for U. Been there a bunch tho on those late nights where everything is closed lol.

This was the worst experience ever! I’m ashamed of my cuban heritage when it comes to places like this! We arrived after a function thinking«sure it’s open 24 hours» what a mistake!!! Everything I asked for from the daily soup special to a salad had run out. I asked for one of the most common appetizers«mariquitas«which came out ice cold and with a hair in it. When we returned it the waitress told me she is canceling the order anyway because they had run out!!! My chicken soup was cold and bland, I had to literally chase after server for water or napkins. Needless to say I WILLNEVERBEBACK! Btw the place is stuck in a time warp and hasn’t been cleaned in years!

Run of the mill Cuban cafeteria. There wasn’t anything exceptional here. The food was fine, the service was fine, and the environment was. you guessed it. Fine. There are a few things they can do to improve the experience(i.e. clean the menus, be more attentive, and clean the overall restaurant) but that’s not why people come here. The bottom line is, it’s not somewhere to come on a date or for a special occasion, but it’s fine for a late dinner when you’re tired and hungry.

I am a new fan of this place. I cannot believe I’ve been going to FIU for 3 years and I haven’t discovered this place until now. What I love about it is their outside cafeteria, since it really reminds me of home. It has that foreign yet homey vibe that you get when visiting other countries. When you come here, you must definitely get their croquettas. I’ve been living in Miami for a while, and these croquettas are AMAZING. The best one’s I’ve ever had in my entire stay here. It’s full of meat and you take note of that nice crunch. I always like drizzling some lime juice on it, for that acid kick. Their other foods are great too, always big servings and portions. Plus, FIU students get that discount with their ID! I love coming here for a late-night all day studying grub, since they’re open 24 hours. I mean wow, colada or cortadito at 3 am, yes please! Or even a late night croquetta preparada after a long day of clinicals, I’m in! Their servers and waitresses are really nice and friendly, it feels like home away from home, even with the chaos of FIU streets. The only thing for me is that they need to update their look and clean the place a little. But overall, I like eating here.

Great prices for lunch. Their lunch specials are incredibly affordable(5.99) and the portions are huge. The service is quick, perfect for your lunch break. They even give a 10% FIU discount and additional discounts if you pay cash. I don’t know the details on that but you can always call ahead of time to ask. I eat lunch here quite frequently and recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood that’s in the mood for a good Cuban dish.

Latin American Cafeteria, South Miami(Calle 8) Visited this place while exploring Calle 8 during the 4th of July weekend. We decided to stop because the place was full! The place is set just like a cafeteria; the service was slow and invisible. We were promptly seated but it took over 15 minutes to have a waitress greet us. The food was great, fresh, tasty, huge portions! The price was extremely inexpensive for the amount of food you get. Would we go back? Yes!!!

This is a great breakfast spot! Are you looking for pancakes, waffles, eggs Benedict?! WRONG place! Haha this restaurant is your typical Cuban spot in Miami! Good food… AFFORDABLE prices! Breakfast Special is Eggs, Cuban toast, your choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, && your choice of house potatoes, tater tots or French fries ohhh and«Café con Leche»(coffee & milk) all for a whopping $ 3.99 yes… 3.99! I usually go on Sundays and the special is $ 4.99& after 12pm it jumps to $ 5.99 but regardless, you’re still getting a lot for pocket change. House potatoes aren’t your regular«American Potatoes» it’s boiled potatoes with TONS&TONS of butter! So if you’re looking for healthy, look elsewhere :) Service is very quick, since it’s always busy. The waitresses are friendly. It’s a small place, loud but clean. You sit yourself but since it’s always busy, at times you have to wait for them to clean your table while you’re already sitting lol. Plenty of parking in the front and if you want to sit outside there’s outside dinning. Overall cheap eats good price

I started off with a strawberry batido, which is a Spanish milkshake. It’s creamier than your usual, I loved the taste of the ice cream they used for it. Loved evn more that they used fresh strawberries! You can really taste that difference. Thumbs up for that haha. Our waitress only spoke Spanish and the whole menu doesn’t include a description of their meals. So come with a Spanish friend to help guide you, they might be familiar with what’s already in the entrees. It’s pretty basic. I ordered an original Cuban sandwich, which had pork, ham, and potatoes sticks on the side. I love putting the potatoes sticks in my sandwich cause it gives it a crunch! That’s my favorite thing about Hispanic burgers and sandwiches, the chips they put! My sandwich was pretty good but ehh… The pork was too dry :/I’d recommend a mojo pork sandwich if you came here to eat cause the mojo sauce will juice up the pork :) their chicken dish isn’t bad either! My sister ordered the chicken dish with rice and black beans. They give you a HUUUUUGGEEEE chicken breast with onions on top. It’s so flavorful! I loved it. Their white rice is yummy too, I liked the way they seasoned it :3

This place is just OK. Not the best place for cuban food. But definitely a solid choice for a croqueta, café con leche & tostada and breakfast at any time of day for a low price
