Food is great! Real authentic colombian food. My family and I always have a good time.

I’m Puerto Rican but love love Colombian food. This establishment in Culter Bay could easily be called a hidden gem. Nestled away in a large shopping center is one of the best Colombian spots I’ve ever eaten at in both Miami and New York. There«Bandeja Paisa» and«Calentado» plates along with there traditional«Empanadas» and«Arepas» are in my opinion superb. There frijoles are very tasty easily eaten without any rice to get the full flavor. You wash it all down with of course a «Colombiana» soda. Yum!!!

Dishes are pretty good but the service sucks(the waitresses) but the bus boys are cool. Food is overall pretty good. The soups are the best.

As much as I have enjoyed coming here over the years this last time was far from impressive. After being seated for 30 minutes, no one had come by to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the hostess to see if anyone was going to help us. My family ordered the chicken soup with white rice and tostones. I ordered the shrimp in red sauce which I always get because it’s so delicious. This time it wasn’t as great and it more sauce than actual shrimp. It was also on the cold side and shrimp isn’t great once it’s cold. We had to hunt down the waitress just to get our check and to process the payment because she was too busy chatting with the other employees. It was really unfortunate because this was my neighborhood go-to place for years. I really wish they would work on the waitresses and the cleanliness of the empty tables. It was definitely not to the standard that I’m used to.

The empanada and pan de bono are amazing! We’ve also called ahead for other items like the chicharrones and the service is on point. Food is always great and prices are awesome.

Delicious authentic Colombian food. Portions are decent for the price & the service was good. Went around lunch time & it was packed with families & groups of friends. We accidentally ordered too many refajos(a mix of both Colombian soda & beer), but we’re able to drink it all along with all the food we had ordered. Definitely coming back soon.

Always a good place to eat. We’ve been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. Service is average(not poor) and they have select staff that do go above and beyond. Food is good and always fresh. They have the bakery on one end with the topical Colombia goodies(empanadas, pan de bono, arepas, etc). The restaurant is basically the rest of the place. Nice size menu with plenty of options. Most dishes come with three sides.

Yummy Authentic Colombian Food — Breakfast, lunch or dinner!!! The 4 stars are for the food ONLY! I’ve been loyally dinning at this local Mom & Pop gem since before it was trendy to write food reviews. Macita’s has a bakery where you can order freshly baked breads, pastries, EMPANADAS, etc; as well as a sit-down Dinning room. Recently I enjoyed one of my favorite breakfast meals as a kid; the«Desayuno Especial». Eggs, bacon/sausage/ham [Guess what I chose ;-)], their Ooey Gooey Cheesy Epic House Potatoes & a perfectly toasted(& buttered) Cuban toast. PLUS, Café con Leche with an Empanada as a starter. While the food is fantastic, the service really leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, a place as great as Macita’s has still not been able to enforce on their servers,(or at least the one I had) to make sure they don’t forget about their tables. I waited over 30 minutes after I finished my meal to get my check, not because they were slammed, simply because my server was slightly more entertained with the gossip that was going on behind the bar counter, than the tables that would’ve potentially left her 18% tip, had she been a little more attentive. The food is spectacular; worth every penny you spend & every calorie you intake, however, if you have a choice, opt for Take-Out or order from the bakery side. Save yourself that table-side service frustration. Luckily, I’ve been to this place so many times that the horrible service had no effects on my opinion about how sensational the food has always been.

Good food for the most part, not so great service, took a while for the waitress to notice we were there once. On other two occasions service was fine.

I frequent this restaurant at least 2 – 3 times a month for lunch. I always ask for Tita, she is the best server this restaurant has on staff. The service is always very quick and the food is literally the best Colombian cuisine in the Town of Cutler Bay. Atmosphere is very casual, lunch specials are incredibly cheap and the portions are perfect. Their chicken soup is so good, I have a cup every time. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.

Macita’s is a great place, if you want to get some good food, for a decent price! Very tasty and feels like it was made by your mom:) I’m from Eastern Europe, but really like Latin cuisine and Macita’s is one of those places, where I can satisfy my cravings) Even though, sometimes it gets too full I can accept it. Not a luxury restaurant or something like that, but they serve a nice ethnic food! Mostly I visit this place to have a breakfast with my family.

Restaurant is dark and dirty. Doesn’t smell like food, at all(sorry to say it smells like an old cleaning rag). Order carne molida for my daughter from the kids menu… I’m not lying it smelled like dog food. My steak and rice was good though and place is always packed so they must be doing something right? I’m Cuban and it was my first time eating Columbian food and I definitely won’t be going back there.

As a first time buyer here the food was not that good… I’m Colombian, I eat at plenty Colombian bakery’s and restaurants and I’ve been hesitant to try this place out and I don’t know if maybe it was a bad day for the baker or what but my arepa de choclo was so undercooked and mushy it’s like they heated it up and sold it I couldn’t eat more than ¼ of it. The buñuelo was off too. It tasted salty? And instead of white inside it was more yellowish and I guess the one good thing was the chorizo although a little arepa or small potato a piece of lemon? to go with it would have been nice considering the price and the fact that every other Colombian place serves it with one or the other! I’m hoping it was an off day. But I think I’ll stick to other places. I swear the arepa was like rubber, I’m very disappointed.

I love coming here! If you go ask for Tita she is an amazing server, so friendly and attentive. This place has great Colombian food! I always order bandeja de paisa con carne asada. It’s enough for me and my five year old. My son loves to eat pandebono, it’s a rich bread, made out of cheese. I always order café con leche, I really enjoy it! For breakfast they have calentado con carne asada, it’s so unhealthy but I love it ;) They also give toasted bread with butter but you have to ask for it, it’s free! Overall this place is great, I especially enjoy the consistency in the quality of food.

This place is so good. I’m always a fan of the food I grew up eating. I come here for lunch a couple times a month and it doesn’t disappoint. The only con at Macitas is that they take long, so I know when I come here, I’m taking an hour and 15 min lunch, instead of an hour.

The food here is tasty, shockingly affordable, and very plentiful. Each time I’ve consumed it, I’ve felt a bit guilty since I had a huge buttered and sliced cuban bread, rice, black or red beans, pork steak and grilled onions, grilled sausage, arepa, fried egg, and chicharrón for something like 11 bucks. Whoever invented Bandeja Paisa con Carne Asada deserves a medal, as far as I am concerned. The well salted and seasoned food is enough to feed me for the rest of the day. Truthfully, I can feel my arteries quiver with fear and anticipation as they bring the multiple plates to the table. Add in plenty of to-go bakery items and I’m set for the week. But, I have to stick to salad and veggies for subsequent meals so my body can prepare again for the Macita’s experience.
