Juicy sauce, melt in your mouth cheese, thin crust. This tastes like JerZ pizza and I’m so happy I finally found a place in Miami that tastes like home.

Horrible customer service, we came for lunch and there were at least 6 employees texting and talking to each other. None bothered to ask what we wanted. We finished our meal and we had to approach the team for them to give us the check.

4 Cheese pizza tasted delicious, crust was thin and crispy, fresh & flavorful ingredients, garlic bread was amazing! Tasted all like Italy! Delivery arrived on time, delivery woman was very nice(she was oddly driving a Benz to do delivery), she said she’d bring me free ice cream next time. I let her know that I had added the tip to the online payment. I found it off that she asked«How much?» lol but aside from that food tasted great!

The lady tries to be nice giving us free garlic bread and ice cream. When we got our check she decided to add $ 4 saying it was 15%(it wasn’t). After complaining she brought us a new check where the total amount went down by $ 6. She also«made a mistake» and forgot to give a couple sitting next to us $ 20. Do not eat here. She tries to be nice but she just rips you off in the end.

I came here for dinner with my husband and we were greeted by a sweet Italian woman who sat us down and gave us a sample of their garlic bread. We ordered their pizza and loved it! Thin crust, crunchy, and extra cheesy. She even gave us free desert which was some carvel ice cream. Overall, we were so happy with the service that we made it a point to come again just to show our support and eat more pizza. ;) The only thing I can say they can improve on is their ice cream. When we came back the second time to get ice cream I choose the pistachio flavor and ended up throwing it away because it was making me sick. And the boy who worked they told me he couldn’t put my iced cream in a cone because it was too runny? Also, they need to upgrade their interior because it seems a little worn down. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants to eat some good pizza.

I ordered two baked pasta dinners. The first(baked fettucini) came out wrong, even after I was told they did not have fettucini. The second dish(baked lasagna) was the smallest portion of lasagna I’ve seen served at a restaurant. Both dishes came with only two garlic rolls, despite the menu saying it came with 3. Although the quality of the food was decent, the inaccuracies and quantity of food was unacceptable for the price. I do not recommend.

I felt like it was necessary to commend this establishment on the meal I just had. I had their lunch special– 2 slices of cheese pizza with a drink for $ 5.00. Pizza was thin, cheesy, and delicious. I had a cannoli and it may have been the best one I’ve ever had. Good to come in for a quick lunch. Yes, it is inside an outdated carvel and yes the layout is a little weird. I’m rating it for the food not the appearance.

I’m only rating the Cannoli’s which were excellent. Crunchy, fresh, tasted like the Non-Italian woman in the back was channeling an Italian nona when she made them(unless these are made offsite and delivered daily); In which case I was lucky and got a fresh one at 3:30pm. The place is old and attached to a Carvel. To say it felt like a dinosaur location dive from the 70’s is an understatement. It’s a bit dirty and awkward and the menu on the counter was filthy. They need to update the place and figure out how to work some lysol wipes. I can’t speak for anything else, but I normally wouldn’t ever eat here. The Cannoli by itself was 3.99 after tax. More expensive then the ones you can get from Whole Foods(2.50) but the last one I had there(earlier today) was soggy, not crunchy, and tasted like a Gluten-free crust which I did not ask for… So this isn’t an apples to apples comparison to those. It’s, convenient for me to get Cannoli’s here because they are nearby(Sweetwater/Doral) the girls like their Carvel ice cream and Bella Napoli has been randomly closed. I’ll order pizza next time and try it out.

Horrible delivery times and customer service — not only was the front desk unable to explain why it took 1.5 hours and blamed it on the weekend rush but they use an online app that gave me a time estimate of 45min upon order… The only redeeming factor was that the pizza was ok(not even great)…

Yesterday was the first time I ever had food from this chain restaurant. I found them online bc I was searching for a place that delivers near me. By the way do not bother placing order online they charge you $ 10 for delivery. If you call in your order directly to the restaurant they only charge $ 3 for delivery. They took 35 mins to deliver which I was expecting 45 mins. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised the food was delicious. Garlic breads and tough and chewy but the chicken parm entrée and sub tasted good. I will definitely be using them again.

Awesome place and I totally recommend it. Had delicious garlic rolls, really good ravioli, and chicken wings. Not sure why the bad reviews but I received great customer service from the owner, Riz. He made sure I got everything I needed and wanted. Really friendly guy and knows his business. Will definitely be back.

Why all the bad reviews??? Such a good place! I’ve had times where they gave us a free 2 lt. of coke. Such delicious cheesy goodness and covered in every spot with toppings. Definitely needs better reviews because this place is great! Not to mention its connected to Carvel!!! Mmmmmmmmm!!!

Worst customer service in Miami! I stood in front of the order table for 8 minutes, and no one came up to me to take my order. I finally flagged someone in the back and asked him to please provide me with some service, but he said he worked for Carvel(next door). WTF? He asked the actual Mario the Baker employee to come out and attend me, and the guy shook his head flustered saying he couldn’t because he had other take-out orders to fill. REALLY? I am quite cognizant of Miami’s reputation for rancid customer service, so I wasn’t terribly surprised, but please let’s stop encouraging substandard behavior in this city! Find a better pizza joint like Sir Pizza or Pasta Factory just down the road from this place. And when you do get the outstanding customer service that breaks Miami’s stereotype, please PRAISEIT!

Ordered take out here and will never order again. It was like overlooked pasta mixed in a can of tomato sauce.

Ordered delivery on a Tuesday afternoon via a Living Social online voucher. Since I had never tried or heard anything about this place I decided to go for the classic: spaghetti and meatballs with garlic rolls. The delivery was really speedy and the driver was extremely pleasant and even called before to confirm the delivery address. Since this was the only person I interacted with I’ll give the service 5 stars, but unfortunately the food was disastrous. Flavorless, watery sauce. Flavorless meatballs. The garlic rolls were sent without garlic/garlic powder. They were just oily rolls covered in chopped parsley. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but after delivery fees and tips its came out to $ 16 for that and a can of soda. The driver is the only reason I won’t 1-star this place but I don’t think I’ll try eating their food again.

This business is filthy… Can’t believe it hasn’t been shut down… Read my carvel review to hear my experience.

Worse service ever! 2 hours later… no pizza delivered. When the store was called to ask what the eta was, no order was even logged! Manager proceeds to hang up on me and does not void the charges. Ended up having to call the credit card company to assure the charge was voided. The absolute worse!

I stopped by this Mario The Baker location for a quick lunch. It’s a little strange, the half Carvel, half Italian restaurant deal they’ve got going on, but I’m not going to complain. My inner fat kid was in heaven! We ordered a large cheese pizza, half a dozen garlic rolls, and 2 sodas for about $ 18 with tip. The garlic rolls were amazing– different, and even better than the rolls I’ve had at the Bird Road/Coral Gables location.

Friday night, rushing to a holiday party and my hunger pangs are going nuts! After running through the usual quick bites in my head I decided to stop into this recently added pizza place near my house. Mario the Baker is half of what Carvel used to be. It seems that the two owners teamed up to bring together two wonderful food items, Pizza and Ice Cream. I walked in and was greeted right away by 4 employees. There were other people there placing and waiting for orders so I took my time and meandered over the menu. I did this just for future reference because I knew all I wanted was two slices of luscious cheese pizza and an ice cold diet coke to wash it down with. That is exactly what I got and they couldn’t have done it better. Their pizza is thin New York style and yum yum yum! I dabbled on the usual garlic powder and red pepper flake and for those few minutes I was in pizza heaven! Simple food, nice staff and location location location. I have found my new pizza stop near home. Oh, did I mention the two slices and soda cost only 7 $ with tax and tip???

«Wait, but where are we?» is what my friend said half way through our meal at this Mario the Baker location and it pretty much sums up our experience here this past Friday night. I’ll explain my friend’s confusion. First off, this Mario the Baker is located INSIDE of a Carvel shop. Super odd and not easy to find. She called bc she was lost and I had t o tell her, next to Dunkin Doughnuts, but INSIDE Carvel. The store is literally divided down the middle with a counter and to the left are the tables for Mario the Baker and to the right are a few tables for carvel. Plaid tables on one side, plain on the other. The menu for the Mario the Baker side is very limited and does not have all the same items that regular Mario the Baker’s have. Also, this location does not have any beer =/The food at this location was okay, but not the best. The service was also okay, but not the best. We came to this location rather than the Bird Road location because we had been at Tamiami Park for a youth football game until 10 and we knew all Mario the Baker’s closed at 11. We had some of the kids with us, and wanted to make sure they had dinner before taking them home. Next time, we’ll be sure to drive the extra 3 minutes and go to the one on Bird Road. This one is just not worth the visit.
