…I really upsets me to give this company with whom I have had a business relationship for… it’s gotta be at least 35 years, a less than stellar review. In the«olden“days, When the company was run by Bill Whitehouse and his lovely wife Diane, when you called for spraying service, either the phone was answered immediately and your appointment was set up, or the call was returned promptly the next day to the same end. Mostly they sprayed for fleas and occasionsl rrrroachesand whatever chemicals were used worked. They’ve also arranged total house extermination for termites probably 4 times over the years. Always cordial, always friendly. always effective, in fact I easily could have had a social relationship with these lovely people… setting an excellent example of how a company should be, and was run. Now, the company business is handled by their daughter Hilary whom I have never met, not sure if I’ve even talked to, but I would like to assume is as conscientious and has the same excellent customer service goals as her parents. Calling them now, as it has been MY experience does not result in a call back. a couple more attempts does, though. Last time they sent an exterminator out to spray and bomb for fleas… at the same time as my 3 totally indoor kittys visited their vet for flea baths resulted in… .a house full of fleas. so, as they said, I could, I rescheduled at no additional charge, another spraying and bombing and another vet trip(who DID charge me .for baths and a partial stay). The gentleman who returned appeared a bit exasperated and visably annoyed to be there again; the result seemed to be MORE fleas. or so it seemed. I give up. It’s time to move on… as far as flea issues, anyway. A few cat-people friends have recommended companies they use that have eradicated the fleas problem that plagues us all occasionally, when it does. xo-a

I was afraid I had baby cockroaches in my house so I call Hilary with Model Pest Control. They were out the next day, inspected the bug and told me it was a dry food beetle. This beetle eats dry food stored in open cardboard box containers that do not seal. After looking around my pantry for 10 minutes we found a group of them in my Publix Brand Oyster crackers. Often these pests come in to our homes from the food system. She recommended that I purchase sealed plastic storage containers for any food like pasta and crackers that comes in boxes that do not seal. Removing the food supply eliminates the problem. No chemicals required! Hilary now has my contract contract for ants, fertilization, and landscaping. Working with local professionals that take pride in their family businesses are so rare these days. I’m so glad I made the right phone call to Model Pest Control.
