Another missed opportunity in Calle Ocho. I’ ve heard good things about this Honduran resto and I’ve decided to give it a try in a rainy day like today. From the start the waiter(a young effeminate chubby guy) made me feel unwelcome, as if he wanted to kick me out of the plaxe. Are there any Jim Crow restrictions in the BRSF for a proud Itallan-American like myself? If so, please advise me or better still, put up a big sign at the door. He grudgingly explained a few choices and I decided to place a safe bet on the chicken tacos and the cole slaw salad. Before he left I asked him to please(I make a poin oif being polite even with deadbeats like this one) bring me some bread and he did not respond. After fifteen minutes of waiting for the bread(and asking him two times more for the same) I got up and went to the cashier, «Are you the manager?» I asked in Spanish. Without waiting for an answer that was slow in coming, I added: «I’ d like some bread. May I have some?» He still did not care to answer me but a lady next to him said: «We don’t carry bread but would you like some chips instead? «I responded: «of course, thanks. «The effeminate guy dared to interject that since I had ordered tacos, I was not supposed to have more carbohydrates. I was literally stunned. Who might he be? A maniacal dietician moonlightning as a server? An avenger for obese people in the BRSF? Holy Mackerel! To make a long story short: the food tray was eventually slammed down on my table by the delicate guy who kept showing me his worst wordless image, surely to impress me. The food was well presented, savoury and with fresh ingredients. The price was reasonable too. I only left a miserly tip(on purpose) Sadly enough I could not help feeling humiliated by those standofish attitudes towards«the different.» WISEUP. Calle Ocho is visited by tourists from all walks of life and ethnic origins; you have to treat them all with a minimum of decorum and respect. I will go back. To be continued.

I love Honduran food so any time I see a Honduran place, I’m going in there. This is more of a family type atmosphere than the other Honduran restaurante on Calle Ocho. When you go in, the place is filled up with tables and booths. It’s comfortable. There’s no dance floor. Their main focus is on the food. They have all the typical Honduran foods: baleadas(these are good — it’s a flour tortilla filled with eggs, refried beans, cheese, crema and whatever else you want to put in there), carne asada, platanos fritos, pollo frito, arroz con pollo… They even have some Honduran beer which I’m not totally crazy about. If you like Honduran food, then this is the place to get it. If you’ve never tried it, then I strongly recommend this place.

This is a real good Honduran restaurant, the best I have tried in Miami. When I first moved to Miami 2 years ago it took me a long time to find good baleadas. My 2 favorite dishes are baleadas and carne asada con tajadas(ceibeño). I just wish they were more consistent with my take-out orders(which are 2 or 3 times per week), and that they had a better costumer service. Sometimes they forget to include ingredients in my baleadas. I complained to the cashier about it today, and her reply was that her job was to only charge for the food and that I have to open my containers to make sure my baleadas have everything I ordered. Like I was going to touch my food with my unwashed hands. I came home to find that they were missing scrambled eggs… ugh. I wish the owner reads this review, I can give you more details. I only like to take-out because the ambience of the restaurant is so dark and it doesn’t look clean, but again, the food is really good. I’m giving it 3 stars because of the costumer service. You would think they’d know my name by now, but it’s like I’m a new costumer every time I pick up. Maybe I’m asking too much?

Love the carne asada. I lost count of how many times I have had this dish. It comes with two sides. I am not a huge fan of coleslaw; however, I like theirs a lot. It must be the fresh-lime taste. Fried beans in a purée style are also a favorite. Gets busy on the weekends. So, I just order take out. Pick up time is normally 30 minutes.

I’ve never been to Honduras. But if the food is anything like it was here I want to visit. The Honduran beer Port Royal is smooth. The Carne Asada special was excellent. The steak has a lot of rich flavors, the salad was surprisingly good as well and the«Chimol» is very tasty. The tortillas were home made of corn flour. Delicious. But please come during week days since weekends this place is packed.

The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is they did not have the Honduran staple that is Chcharron con Yuca on the menu and they used lettuce where the dish calls for cabbage. But I tried the Beef soup which was excellent, I had a Baleada which was fluffy and hot as much as tasty. I had an enchilada that was ok(again lettuce where it should have been cabbage) I also had the Carne asada which was cooked to perfection. An over all great dining experience.

I love this place! Can’t beat the price, great Honduran food — baleadas are one of the best I’ve tried. The plantain with crema and cheese is so yummy and the pupusas are just as good. It is amazing how far your money goes here!

Cold food, slow service, incomplete orders even when the restaurant is full and doubled its size. Not as good as it was.

if youre looking for good Central American food, this is the place! I LOVEDEVERYTHING I ordered. Good food & great prices! Only reason it didn’t get all 5 stars is because the service was mediocre but I wouldn’t expect any different in Miami :( Anyway aside from our server, the food is really good!

This place is the go to fix for Honduras food. The service is usually very bad but I guess that’s to be expected when you’re eating in a dive. But the food is always good and that’s the most important thing. The anfres are great and the pollo cebeno is very good as well. Give this place a try.

Authentic Honduran food, not one thing I did not like. The Carne Asada was really good and tasted like I remember as a kid in the honduran countryside. This is most authentic Honduran restaurant I have ever been to ever, only my mom’s cooking could beat it. Prices are excellent and they give you too much food, but you know it was worth it.

I ordered the carne acada and baleada con choriza. I preferred the carne acada but the baleada con choriza was very cheap! Only $ 4.99. The portions are really really big and worth the money. The steak was flavored and a good size. I also ordered the anafre mixto which is chips with cheese and beans. The cheese was a little too cooked so it burned tho but still delicious. The only thing I will say is that the plantains werent that sweet. Which was disappointing because plantains are my favorite

Tacos were good but the rest of the Food was salty, the baleada was skimped and burnt. My GF’s mom blows this place out of the water. Unilocalers you can do better. TM

My hubby and I have this tradition of every Sunday having sopa de marisco(seafood soup) our #1 place to go didn’t have today so I looked for a place with more than 10 reviews. This place is clean, friendly staff, the environment is comforting. The only thing I disliked is that it’s on the corner(little Havana so imaginate) if you have a car be careful where you Park and it’s crowded. Now my soup..(We got take out) it’s good but too much oil, tiny shrimp, we both got a small piece of fish; not even half of a fish. other than that the soup is good. $ 14.95 for the soup. My #1 place it’s $ 10 and exactly how I love it.

I’ve tried a few Honduran restaurants in Miami and this one has to be in the number one spot. Everything that I have tried here has been authentic and filled with flavor! Also can’t beat the fact that the pricing is affordable. My fiancée is Honduran and absolutely loves it here as well. The staff is very nice. It gets packed at certain times of the day. The parking is difficult if you don’t find a spot in their parking lot, located on the side of the auto shop.

Saludos y continuen ASI !! Buen trabajo. Good job guys. Keep it up being number One Honduran restaurant cafeteria style in Miami/Broward area. Yes I do recommend this place to you all to visit and try some authentic northern Honduras cooking style good food. Cheap and quality. Como on down…
