Peacock Park

I love Peacock Park! I’ve been going there ever since I was a kid. There aren’t that many large parks around any more where you can just run around and have fun. Because it’s in the heart of Coconut Grove, it usually the place where the large festivals are held. Plus it right there on the water so you have some fantastic views of the bay. I love going there!

I love peacock park. It’s a park with peacocks! And statues of peacocks! Yay! I am a fan of peafowl, so it’s nice to see them on occasion cruising around looking awesome.
Double yay to being host to pretty much any kind of event in the Grove. From beer fests to kickball to yoga classes, this park welcomes everyone in and provides a gorgeous spot along the Bay. It’s mostly an open field, but there’s some shady tables up by the little glass house, near the playground. The openness is what makes the park so great for large events and sports.
There’s street parking along the road, but for event, you’ll want to take a ride share or park far far away and walk over, bc they charge an arm and a leg to park in a lot near the park.

Nice restaurant with excellent food and a second upstairs restaurant by the pool with an awesome view of the bay.

The parking situation here is one of the worst around. Whenever you are going to one of the larger events you will pay a pretty penny to park close, or park on the other side of the Grove and walk over. Other than that, this place is great!
I’ve been to a few of the events here and while the success of said festivals is solely on the promoters, the fact that Peacock Park has hosted such varied events from beerfests to pumpkin patches shows that the city «gets it» and wants to draw many different crowds to the Grove. I have a secret love affair with the Grove as I worked there for many years and I would love to see it get back to it’s glory days. I think it’s still a whiles away, but I hope one day, it will get back there.
The park is spread out, good layout and hosts some awesome kickball events — which I have never been a part of but always passed by and looked on with envy — they look so fun!

Pros: Decent park, nice amount of green space, on Biscayne Bay and within walking distance to the heart of Coconut Grove. Nice softball field as well.
Cons: Where are the views to the water??? Peacock Park is located on the water but you can barely see it unless you take an elevated path around the greenery… they should really rip the greenery out along the bay so people could see and appreciate the amazing views.
The whole eastern side of the park is shaded and poorly landscaped. This could really be fixed up nicely.
This park has a lot of potential, but needs an overhaul asap!

This park is amazing! The only that would make it better is bathrooms accessible to the public on a regular basis. When there are festivals they rent out port-​a-​potties but I highly dislike using them. If you are there for sports purposes on non-​festival days there are no bathrooms. Other than that I LOVE this field! It is big, wide, has a beautiful views + is in the best neighborhood :)

I am a lover of parks I visit them when I am in a foreign city, I have lists about them on Unilocal and think there are not enough of them… ever
When I used to live in The Grove, Peacock Park was my go-​to park for relaxing, kickball or basketball Not very big but action-​packed
There is also a pretty sweet make-​out spot on the wooden walkway by the water looking over the sailboats

Very hot because there are no trees. Great place for an event but wear your sunblock.

I came here to watch the fireworks on the 4^th of July. There were tons of ppl and vendors here. I had a blast but I cant say how the atmosphere is on a regular day. I shall return in the future and I’ll update then but my first impression of this park was pretty good.

Did you know that if you are playing a game of Scattegories, rolled a ‘P’, and was told to list a place, you could list Peacock Park and get double points? Oh, the things that go on in my head after celebrating 4^th of July here.
Well, what to say?
It was my first time visiting this park, and I was amazed at the organizational skills that it took to manage their 4^th of July event. There were awesome food vendors, got a really yummy gyro, and was amused by the crowd. For it being a family-​oriented venue, there was a lot of grinding going on. It seemed like fireworks were being set off, and I am not talking about the ones that light up in the sky. LOL. Very interesting!
Anyways, about the park?
It seems like a nice park. It had a really cool field and kickball/​softball area, but other than that, it did not have anything else. I hate to give a public park a 2 because I am a firm believer that everyone needs to get outside once in a while, but I just wish it had a snazzy playground. It’s right by the water, so that’s a plus, but I wish it had more.
I will probably go to more events here because their 4^th of July celebration was amazing. It was the first time I was able to lie on the grass and look at the fireworks, but I probably would not make this a place to go to because it did not have any particular defining features. 2.5 in my book!

My Friday evening haunt during kickball seasons; Peacock Park has a great location and pretty decent size to host us crazy kickballers and those who come for the many festivals hosted here year round.
The bay breeze is always welcome during hot summer nights of playing and drinking. One of the best features of this park is being so close to the local eateries, bars and hang out spots of Coconut Grove.

Dear Peacock Park,
How writing this review has eluded me for so many years is actually quite baffling. But alas, I digress so here it goes. :)
Over the years I can attribute a few amazing memories being here… My first real love’s kiss (I was 16); attending a plethora of concerts, festivals, bazaars, and the like; CGAF; soccer & rugby games (as a spectator, of course)… The list does continue, but why would I want to bore anyone with those details? ;-)
Anyhoo, you rock, Peacock Park! For the most part your park is clean and kept up well, although after the big events you’re full of trash and litter (people suck, I know). There’s a large field for the events and games, and you have a small area that has swing sets and a playground for the kids. Being located next to the Bay is also a major plus — BEAUTIFUL views and sunsets.
A good choice for anyone needing a nice, wide open space and some clean, fresh air. Perfection…

really small, not too many activities and playsets, but the little skate park is nice. and the marina, a stone’s throw away, is awesome. the huge soccer/​green field is a great touch too.
i also love that coco walk is a block away.

About 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to stay with some family in the Grove, and thus, I was introduced to a privileged area of town in terms of outdoor activities. Peacock park is a great backdrop for pursuit of happiness. I try to end my runs in this area here at Peacock and just chill out and stretch and cool down. We have played pick up games here, attended concerts and just enjoyed hanging out. Great location and wonderful view of the ocean, nevermind the surroundings. This is just another example of good things in Miami.

This park is easily my favorite in the city. The location is perfect as it is within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and bookstores in the Grove. It’s situated right on the water and you can walk along the boardwalk to get a glimpse of the bay. The park is kept up well and there is a parking lot adjacent to it. You have to pay to park your car if you’re driving there — but where in the Grove don’t you pay for parking?
A few years ago I was in a kickball league (yes a kickball league) that played at the park. It was great getting playing at the baseball fields and being able to walk to bars afterward. The field is lit at night so it’s very practical. The Coconut Grove branch library is located next to the park, which makes it great if you want to check out a book and read it outdoors. The park also serves as a great oasis when the grove has its festivals. It’s great to sit on the lawn and just relax and enjoy the sun.
Small and understated this park is a great place to get away from it all in the middle of the city.
