Pelican Harbor Boat Ramp

This is a boat ramp located right on Biscayne Bay. The fee for ramp use is $ 10, but sometimes an attendant is not there, and you can just roll right on in. (I think it’s free on weekdays)
Great trout and tarpon fishing can be done within ½ mile south of the ramp. Great sight seeing and all kinds of fishing can be found in any direction. It’s really great to fish here; the problem is the neighborhoods you have to drive through to get to the ramp. If you don’t get solicited for money at least 30 times along 79^th Street, you’re lucky. I’ve heard stories about vehicle break-​ins at the ramp, so lock up your valuables. The ramp is slippery; I have seen several internet postings of vehicles which slid into the Bay, including a Corvette and an Expedition. Very entertaining.
