Probably the most important aspect of dealing with any kind of technical service provider is trust. Pro Works has this in spades. They’ll talk over the repairs with you before they’re made, explain what needs to be done and why, and most importantly they’ll give you a fair shake on the price — even going so far to explain what they charge for parts and labor, and the options available to save you a couple of bucks.
I have an older car and after just about every light in the dash had finally gone on I decided to take it in. The first place I went for the initial round of repairs was slow, screwed up the work (all the car needed was a change in spark plugs, but they changed the coils instead — at a cost of a couple hundred dollars!), AND they actually lost the plastic cover off my engine. The second place charged a $ 50 up-​front fee to even look at the car, when all they did was run the codes (which you can get done at Autozone for free) — then they came out with a sky-​high price. After my two prior attempts, I asked a local body shop guy who he recommended and was sent to Pro Works.
Long story short, I’ve taken the car to them a few times now for repairs that I had been putting off and I am extremely satisfied. One of the best aspects is that they don’t try to upsell you. Example: there’s a problem with my car’s EGR valve and instead of trying to sell me on a $ 400-​$ 500 fix, they explained that it wasn’t urgent and could be put off for the time being. Seriously, how many service providers in Miami try to talk you OUT of a service instead of into one?
The only reason that I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they are always busy, which means you need to call ahead to find out their availability as opposed to just taking the car in. It’s the sign of a good mechanic but it can also be a bit frustrating.
Bottom line: if you need some auto repair work in the Falls area, give these guys a shot!
