Public Storage

I have been using this facility for a few years. They recently got a new manager and he has been wonderful. He has really turned this place around in a short time and I couldn’t be more thrilled and pleased with the customer service and attentiveness. They have gone out of their way to be accommodating.

This is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
The two employees’ sitting at the front counter were extremely rude and told me they were both on break. When I tried to pay for my supplies, they refused to let me pay and continued to use their cellphones while I stood there in shook.
As i was getting ready to leave, I asked them what kind of circus they were running and one of the employees answered, «The third monkey stepped out.»

Terrible. Unsafe, all of our winter clothing stolen either by Public Storage employee or by the people in the next unit. When the Miami PD came out they pointed out a gap in the wall where even an adult could reach their arm through into our unit. The insurance, which Public Storage makes you take, denies any responsibility. Of course, if you dig a little bit you’ll find out that the insurance company is owned by Public Storage. The regional manager told me that this is the first time that they have ever had anything like this happen. Of course if you dig a little on that you’ll find numerous complaints from people who can’ t figure out how their stuff is missing and the lock on the door is still intact. Hmmmmmmmm, you bought the lock from Public Storage like me right? That strange smell running through your head is probably fish!!! The whole Public Storage thing smells, really!
Do not use them, do not trust them. Thieves!

Part 2 of the Dade Public Storage review:
So they transfered me over here without telling me the rate would be $ 20 more a month AND did not give me the $ 1 first month rate.
I called to find out what the problem was and they told me that that particular reservation was made over the phone and the rate that I received for the $ 1 first month was an internet special. Conversation went like this:
Me: But yes. I made the original reservation on the internet and my reservation was transfered over here by the Public Storage on Dade. Doesn’t that entitle me to the $ 1 first month?
PS: No, because this reservation was made on the phone. The rate you received for the first month was an internet special.
Me: I realize that. You’ve told me this already. Twice. That doesn’t make a difference to me. Could you please tell me why my reservation went up by $ 20 as well?
PS: Our location has a higher rate.
Me: Then why, on the website, does it list your location as being the same rate?
PS: Because the rate matters depending on the location in the building. Like how real estate is more expensive in some places than others (yes, he really said this).
Me: Ok. That makes no sense. But whatever. What can you do about my rate and the $ 1 issue?
PS: I can’t do anything about that. You’ll have to cancel online and make a new reservation online.
Me: You can’t do that for me?
PS: No. My manager will have to do that for you.
At this point I’m pretty pissed because they refuse to adjust my rate OR cancel my reservation, and the guy is talking to me like I’m retarded. I spend the next 3 hours trying to get in touch with the manager at the location because the internet site is not letting me cancel my reservation, due to conflict of location.
Calling the location transferred me to a voicemail and I got hung up on 3 times.
Never again.
