Our tour van dropped by this shopping plaza for lunch the other day. Instead of following our group to the Chinese buffet, I decided to take my chances with the Publix supermarket as I previously had good experiences with their other locations. This particular location seemed a bit worn but it had almost everything I needed in a supermarket. We ordered a sandwich from the deli area and ate it in the bakery area. My only gripe so far was the quality of the restroom as there was quite an explosive mess in their only toilet.

I do not understand why this Publix has such a bad review! I feel like the customer service is just as good as any other Publix if not better. It is clean and the food is fresh. Maybe the outside is not the most attractive but the store itself does not have anything bad.

Horrible Service! Worst Publix I have ever been to.

I’m surprised by all of the bad reviews here. It’s actually one of the better stores in terms of what they have available and I’ve never had a problem.

Terrible terrible experience at the deli. Ordered my usual Italian sub and got a burned bread and very little ham and salami. I have ordered tons of subs in publix, never at this one, and it was horrible. Th tomatoes were so ripe. Never again

It gets the job done as supermarkets go. There are more cons then pros to this location. Con #1: The deli is unorganized and chaotic. I’ve only tried to order something once, it took 20 minutes. Con #2: Parking is a nightmare. Con #3: The bakery staff is pretty rude. I’ve asked for things a number of different occasions and each time, they made me feel like I was bothering them. Pro #1: The lines can be long but they usually have a large number of registers open and the cashiers are pretty competent. I come here simply because of the location. Avoid if possible.

I love it here and by far my favorite one. I have been to the one in Doral and I expected better.

This place is a joke. Especially the off duty officer — short FHP guy. Omg. He followed me as if i were a shoplifter, hiding behind shelves etc:)) I laughed so hard. Wtf??? Maybe i didnt look Cuban enough to fit in. Lol. Worst part is, you cant even complaint cause nobody speaks English.

Dear Publix: I love this place. I call in my deli and the meat department before walking in and they always have what I need ready for me. The service is delightful. The only thing I dislike about this publix is that it is always super packed and busy. It doesn’t matter the time. And they never have enough cashiers I believe. Other than that it;s great in my book. It’s clean and nice friendly service. ANd the deli people recognize you all the time. SO I love this place. :)

I’m a little surprised by all the bad reviews! I started coming to this Publix about 4 months ago when I moved to the area. And DISCLAIMER: I usually do my shopping on the weekdays, in the middle of the day. I try to avoid this place on weekends because of the madness. The parking is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be… I have never had a problem finding a spot. The parking is DEFINITELY a lot better than the one at the Winn Dixie on Flagler &97th! THAT is a nightmare. But I digress. They have a pretty decent selection here. The only thing i would suggest is that they stock more ethnic/exotic foods. It’s happened to me a few times that I have an ingredient in a recipe that I just can’t find anywhere in the store. OR that they just don’t have the type of deli meat/cheese I’m looking for. Another slightly annoying thing about this Publix is that nobody moves out of your wayin the aisles! They just stay put and look at you all weird if you say something. Irritating to say the least. I’ve learned to get over the whole«English-as-a-second-language» thing(especially after moving to Sweetwater). Its annoying, I know, but it comes with the territory. Sorry.

I love this store. It has my favorite kind of organic peanut butter. It’s not too small and everything is always easy to find! Employees always answer your questions or try to at least. One bad thing is that they don’t have any milk products that are ultra-pasteurized. There’s always Whole Foods.

They are sprucing up this particular store. It definitely looks a little more shopper friendly. They’ve certainly taken a few cues from Whole Foods in their set up, especially in the produce section. Pluses: Pharmacy(although I don’t take my prescriptions here, but they’ve even got a large waiting area with seating) Deli meats and sub station are separate lines. Friendly staff. Drawbacks: Not as an extensive wine and beer selection, compared to other Publixes, not a wide selection of ethnic foods, and my absolute least favorite recent change: they turned the hot food section into a self-serve buffet(gross and completely unappealing) and took chicken tenders OFF the menu!!! That was the one good thing they had going for them! I miss my old Publix in the gables!

If hell had a Publix, this would be it. 1) No one speaks English and half of them will give you MAJOR attitude when they realize you don’t speak Spanish. 2) A good third of the cashiers have just plain NASTY attitudes and appear to have a serious dislike for Americans. 3) A good half of the cashiers are s-l-o-w as molasses. Bearable during the afternoon, but makes for horrific lines during the evenings. On the wkends, there’s usually at least one younger, English speaking cashier. Head for that line. 4) Produce section is usually fruit fly breeding grounds. Just say no to anything near the tomatoes. Bagged salads are often brown. Potatoes are soft. Pre-cut fruit trays have a ¼ in of fruit/water juice in the plastic tray b/c they are rotting. Just say no to the produce unless it’s a banana. Pros: 1) Better than the over-priced-no-where-to-park-itty-bitty Winn-Dixie. 2) Meat selection is over-priced, but normal quality. Be sure to take packs from the bottom of the pile. The butchers often over-stack the meat and there’s just no way it can remain at proper temp. Publix at 58th(?) in Doral is 100X better and no one will look at you crazy for(gasp!) speaking English.

This Publix doesn’t deserve the low score given. It is clean and stocked. True, English is the second language but the staff is just as helpful as another Publix. I would say that it is a preferred Abeula/Abeulo store. Can be quite funny watching the older folk fight it out for the handicap parking. Very competitive stuff. Parking is a bit of a challenge and the weekend is a mad house. Still, a good clean store(albeit with some construction at this time) that no one should shun. That is coming from a Gringa. Just check your biases at the door.

Very rough around the edges. Looks like how a Publix would look in a developing country. Don’t try to speak English here, you will get a «huh?» look. On the flip side, I dare say they have the best Hispanic Publix Bakery in town.

This Publix really isn’t that bad, just like every other grocery store in the country. We had no trouble finding a place to park, and they had what we were looking for at reasonable prices. It was fairly clean and the cashier was friendly.

By far, the worst Publix I have ever been to. Where to begin??? Parking: HA! What is that again? No parking at this location. People tend to double-park at this place too. I don’t know if it’s just all the old folks who come here, or what. Lines: The lines are horrible at this place! Also, the people who come here don’t know what the meaning of «express lanes». Cashiers: Rude as ever!!! All in all, the place is disorganized and it just looks dirty. My bf and I have sworn it off.
