Funny story:
I’m here with my GF looking to purchase a universal remote for a television. I notice several brands ranging in cost from $ 12-​$ 100. I obviously select the cheapest remote because it’s a universal remote and not something I care deeply about. Actually, I was thinking about purchasing a $ 20 remote with huge buttons (probably meant for an elderly customer), but my GF quickly talked me out of it.
At the register, the associate recommends that I purchase a one year extended warranty.
I smirk.
Another associate chimes in and mentions that he also bought a universal remote and got the warranty and ended up having to replace the remote within the year.
I look puzzled.
Why would Radio Shack sell items that exhibit tendencies to malfunction within a year?
And what type of ass clown purchases an extended 1-​year warranty on a $ 13 universal remote?

Came here to get replacement battery for SunPass and was told I had to buy a 3 pack when I know for a fact they have a specific arrangement with the state to replace the batteries one at a time — which is why I went.
Another store got my business!
