I love this place. It is an authentic Peruvian restaurant… loud tv, big portions, real chicha morada, agua de manzana, and ’ buena comida serranita’ :) This restaurant has everyday different menus. You can not miss on the weekends sopa de mote, caldo de gallina, or menestrone soup, ‘sopita de carne con trigo’ during the week. This place is not fancy at all. if you are looking for a peruvian restaurant w/a nice atmosphere this is not your place.

I came here three times, but every time it got worst. It’s great to see 3 generations of lady’s in this business but they are way too slow(I can understand that it’s fresh) but still too slow and the food didn’t have a good taste, the last time I just ate ¼ of the plate. I am not coming back.

This little gem is hidden between warehouses and a terrible shopping area. It’s a small family-owned authentic Peruvian restaurant. If you’re looking for affordable home cooked dishes, this is your spot. They have a daily special in addition to menu items. It is a clean small business that 3 generations of women help run it. I stumbled upon it today while in the neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the fish ceviche and the mashed potatoes and beef brisket. Delicious! I am very picky with Peruvian cuisine and this place does not disappoint.

We ate at this place tonight. I was almost not going to go after reading Luis A.‘s comment thinking the food was going to suck. The only bad this about this place is the scary neighborhood it’s in. It’s BIGTIME in the hood out by Allapattah. The owner and daughter were super nice. The food came out pretty fast. I ate chupa de camerones there. I’ve eaten this same dish at a many other Peruvian restaurants and amazingly, this place had the best tasting one I ever had in nearly 10 years. To me it feels like when you walk in the door, you just stepped into a wormhole and were teleported to a restaurant in Perú. They had a live band playing. Music was loud and hard to have a conversation over. All the dishes they brought out, all 4 of us loved. We all said we would return to eat there. To me those dishes tasted so authentic with Peruvian flavor. Many of the ingredients they import from Perú. The Peruvian people there are mostly quiet. The place is not fancy but felt at home. The owner gave us all hugs goodbye and thanked us for coming in. I felt a lot of warmth there. That’s why I like Peruvian people so much. Give it a try. If you don’t like it. Don’t go back. 4 of us went in and all 4 of us loved the food and would return. The main reason I rate it only 3 stars is the location it’s in. Otherwise, to me, the food I’d rate as a 5.

–Chicharron de chancho(broiled pork): oily but good flavor –Tamal: My friend who was hungry did not finish it. –Picarones: pretty bad. I guess if you are starving anything is good. The waitress was nice and gave me extra syrup, but even then it still remained bad –Location and décor: humble Having said this, you get what you pay for.
