Foods ok. Prices are high. You can go next door to serious and get the same for less. Pastries are ok. Nothing special about this place.

Ricky Bakery is my religion on Saturday mornings. The first thing I do every Saturday morning after a long work week is take out my dogs. The second thing I do is get my ass in the car and drive to Ricky Bakery which is a short 5 minute drive for me. I always show up in my PJ’s and no one looks at me weird, which is a huuuuge plus for me. Now I’m not going to lie. This place has a special place in my heart because I apparently not only own an arepa company, but a bakery as well. My name is Ricky by the way, if you didn’t get my joke. In all seriousness though, everything here is the bomb. Their pastelitos are always super crispy with flakes and stuffed really nice. The pastelito de guayaba is one of my favorites. Their croquettes are always delicious and it feels like they are always fresh and out of the oven. The main reason I won’t give this place five stars is because their Cuban toast is usually hit or miss for me. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s not so great, but everything else is usually consistently good. I really love their coffee and it would be a huge deal breaker for me if it wasn’t good. I absolutely love how nice the staff always is to me in the morning. They are always in a good mood and super friendly to the customers, at least from my experience. I always look forward to this place on the weekends and will continue to visit as long as I live in the area.

The owners need to get it together. The quality of the food is terrible and some items are very stale. They never have enough employees working. There’s always a line to order and a longer line to pay because only one person is aloud to work the register. Today, for example, I ordered a chicken empanada and it was FROZEN. I’m not exaggerating I swear. The employee said that they just came out if the oven then when she inspected it she said it felt like ice… so clearly they have the food prepped and stored in the fridge or freezer and immediately put it in the oven when they need it. Ever since this store changed owners, everything has gone to crap… It’s a shame because I work in the area and my employees and I used to LOVE Ricky’s…

The best thing about Ricky Bakery is the absurd amount of meat they put in their empanadas. That said, I wish they offered baked ones instead of only fried empanadas.

Good cortaditos. Pan con bistec was yummy and big! My son loved the chicken empanadas!

First, I gotta say that I was recommended by a friend of Ricky the Owner to get some party platters for a holiday party at my home. While I know the food is quite delicious and very well prepared. The customer service is deemed the worse. I called to place my order a day before with ample time(24 hours) when I called a very new generation Cuban answers and I begin to advise her that I’m looking to get a few platters for a party at my home. While I understand that it’s the holidays and I’m sure they are swamped as I am too with my work. The lady in a very loud and obnoxious way tells me «oh honey, il going to have to get 25 more people to work tomorrow to get your order in» I could clearly hear her co worker saying«what are you doing» and to perhaps tone down the cubiche tone a notch! I commenced to place my order and 1 of my request they did not have(pizza dough) my 5 or perhaps my 6th platter required strawberry jelly, which at this point«cubiche lady» tells me hey honey call me back in 5 mins to confirm the jelly will be delivered by the next day etc, and we can then continue To place my order. I called her back within 5 mins(same Cuban lady answers) as soon as I tell her who I am she hangs up on me, I’m thinking«oh bad connection» she will call me back. Not!!! So I call back 9 minutes later. No one answered! I finally call a competition bakery«Karla bakery» and I got my order in online, with everything I wanted and confirmed payment and pickup(extremely happy with Karla) the Cuban lady calls me back 1 hour after and tells me «honey, you never called me»!!! I’m like hmm! Yea honey I did, you first hung up on me and then no on answered I have proof on my phone. She then sez well let’s finish the order! I’m like no thanks I did it elsewhere, at this point she tells me who did I cheat on ??(granted I was a little disturbed by that comment) she’s asking me who I placed my order with, I lied and told her some other bakery by my home. And that was that. The day after my party, my friend comes over and asks if I got all my stuff from Ricky, and I gave her my run down of «cubiche lady» and her horrible customer service. My friend was floored! So here I am now Unilocaling my horrible experience with Ricky’. It’s a shame cause the food is great but I really think he needs to have people like Karla bakery, who are attentive, respectful and very nice !!

Cleanliness is questionable when one of the employees is walking around with a dirty dish rag commenting that she ran out of detergent. The counters were sticky and visibly unattended by anyone. The topper on this visit was the blatant rude employees checking out the men as they asked them what they wanted. Just not a friendly and clean atmosphere, in my personal experience.

I went in with my son for a quick bite because we were really hungry and we ordered an empanada and a cheese stick… First of all there a little bit way over priced and second of all the empanadas was super super greasy to the point that it was leaking out of the bag in my car and the cheese stick was really small really dry and barely had any cheese inside… both me and my son are completely disgusted man… ugh. whatever…part of life. Wish I can get my refund though it was like five bucks 42 little thing next time I’ll take my butt to subway or to Sergio’s hell yeah Sergios!:)))))) lol

To be honest since I work exactly one second away from this bakery. I only come here if I literally haven’t had any breakfast and I’m starving and have no time. But even with having no time the service sucks. Also their food seems old as in like 2 or 3 days old. Like their sandwiches and their cold salads. Also their pastelitos are not that great. Their café con leche is only made with evaporated milk. No water mixed in. It’s good at first but then it leaves a bad taste in your mouth and you start to feel extremely dehydrated because of it. If I do go and get a café con leche l always order it with regular milk. Also the prices are sooooooo high! I feel like I’m at Starbucks for the amount of money just one café con leche is. It’s pretty ridiculous. Also their breakfast is disgusting I’ve only had it once and had to through everything away. I really don’t like this bakery.

I want to say 4.5 stars just because they don’t make their own croquetas… come on now! This is Miami and a caserita croqueta is no longer going to cut it. If I’m calorically splurging, I want to do it right. Otherwise, every other pastelito at Ricky Bakery is my favorite of its kind. They have a great pastry dough and glaze for their pastelitos and they don’t skimp on glaze or filling. The guava pastelito — the benchmark for all Cuban pastries — is stupendous. The pastelito is full to bursting. Not too much pastry, either! The sealing glaze is very yummy. The cheese pastelitos are coated in huge sugar crystals and stuffed with filling. I also really like the meat seasoning for the pastelito de carne. The sweet and savory contrast is always one of my favorites. Of course, you have to talk about the bocadito paste(especially if looking for a party package). It is radioactive pink and pretty heavy on the mayo, but very tasty. The café con leche is always piping hot and I think the milk mixture includes evaporated milk because it has a very full flavor. Nothing goes better with café con leche than a tostada cubana. First off, the Cuban bread loaf here is authentic and huge. Just enough crispness on the outside and pillowy goodness on the inside. When you order the tostada you get what feels like a 1⁄3 of the loaf — it’s huge! I always share it with my son. Very buttery and they toast it just right. The dessert pastries all look pretty good, though I’ve only ever had the Napoleans. Mine was flaky and not too sweet. It definitely tasted fresh and not as if it had been sitting in the case for a week. I will happily get it again. They also seem to have a good selection of licensed cakes for if you’re looking to make that party platter I was talking about :) Service can be a bit slow, especially on a weekend morning. Have some patience — the food is really worth the wait!

Rude rude rude! Both ladies would ask me what I wanted but then when I opened my mouth walked away! I would say something and they would just ignore me and turn around to do something else. I asked my boyfriend if I was speaking loud enough just to make sure it wasn’t just in my head. He thought they were being rude too. Both seemed to only speak Spanish which is fine for me but my boyfriend clearly doesn’t speak Spanish(he’s Filipino) and they were just speaking to him in Spanish assuming he would understand. They would whisper to them selfs then laugh loudly. Empanadas were pretty good, we haven’t tried our pastries yet, but regardless we won’t be coming back. We should have ordered our food then just walked away laughing once they got it ready just so they would have a taste of their own medicine.

I am updating my review based on today’s visit. Poor customer service, three latin ladies that don’t speak English which is okay; however, to take a phone call while she is helping me is rude. While I am telling her what I want from their cases she starts a conversation with her coworker. This is why business lose patrons!

Ricky Bakeries usually impress with their traditional cuban pastries and café con leche… and it’s exactly what I had. Here’s the plus: relatively inexpensive and great croquettes, cuban bread and pastelitos. Opportunities: the staff looked disorganized and the milk for the café con leche was 1000 degrees!!! Took me 20 minutes to have a good sip of my coffee and by that time I was well done with my food. I will be back, but probably grab some ice cubes if I want to enjoy my coffee right away…

Great cuban and french bread, tres leches and café con leche. Service is excellent– the staff is attentive and friendly. All the desserts are typical Cuban, most on the very sweet side and not my cup of tea. However their pastries are great and they also serve breakfast as well.

Embarrassed for the behavior of the head band wearing attendant at the register when I walked in a few minutes after they closed. I was told«closed» from across the room and was waved at to leave. It was 3:15 pm and I didn’t know they closed then on Sunday. Guess they don’t need to be nice nor want me to come back. Because I won’t. Good job.

I’ve been coming here for a couple months now and the food is delicious. Every things here is good. The service slacks at times especially when there is a long line. The ladies get overwhelmed very easily.

Like their complete breakfast which is a scrambled eggs with ham, cheese & onions, Cuban toast, & small fries(who doesn’t like fries for breakfast???) ;) with a café con leche. Pastellitos are also very good & so are the Croquetas. It gets pretty packed of course in the morning on weekends so be prepared to wait a little if you visit at this time. It’s in the same shopping center as Costco, tjmaxx & other stores. Very convenient to stop here before some shopping.

I usually feel too guilty to indulge on Cuban pastries and treats more than a handful of times a year, but when I do… I go to Ricky Bakery. They’ve got your usual: croquetas, guava n cheese pastelitos, bocadito sandwiches, etc… And they are all fresh and delicious! I’ve been coming here a lot lately because this whole pregnancy thing has me jonesin’ for Cuban toast ALL the time. What could be more delicious than lardy bread lathered in butter? I used to go to Sergio’s for my fix, but found that their Cuban toast was always soggy. At Ricky Bakery, their toast is perfection. Perfect amount of butter softening and flavoring the inside, with a crispy, toasty crust! Pair it with a café con leche and you’re set! Just a tip: this place can get pretty crowded on weekend mornings… everyone is in line for their desayuno! So get their really early, really late, or be prepared to wait for a bit!
