S Gears Transmission

So the only reason I am giving this establishment 3 stars is because they were able to fix my car which I am very great full for… what I didn’t appreciate was the lack of communication.
I had brought my car in for a new transmission on Wednesday 04÷02÷14 and I was told it would be ready by Sunday 04÷06÷14. I had asked the mechanic to let me know if it was going to take any longer than that because I needed to know if whether or not I would have a car to go to work in on Monday. So Sunday comes around and I get no call at all (I know that on Sundays they are usually closed but he had told me that he’ll open up so that I could get the car).
I call him and I get no response. So I waited and waited and waited till Tuesday and I finally got the call saying that the car will be ready on Wednesday. (He needed to order parts and that’s why it took longer than what he had said). So Wednesday comes and again I have not gotten any calls yet… by now I am furious and wondering what the heck is happening with my car.
So now it’s Thursday and I got the call saying that my car will be ready by 3:00 pm today… it’s 4:20 pm and I’m still waiting for my car to be ready.
I understand that a car takes time to fix and there are parts that need to be ordered if the establishment doesn’t have it with them.
What I don’t understand is not calling a customer who is paying almost $ 1000 for a new transmission that their car is going to take a little longer than expected… all he had to do was give me a call to let me know what was happening or at least answer the phone when I call.
Like I said. I understand why it took long to get my car fixed and I’m great full he was able to fix it… I just don’t understand why I couldn’t get one phone call to let me know the status of my car.
