Never enough cupcakes or options. I dont think I’ll be back there. Super tiny and sometimes dry.

Sad and empty place that uses boxed cake mix and is a bit dissapointing the cupcakes are super tiny snd flavorless.

Soooo I stumbled across this place after having lunch at Bubbles. I was in the mood for something sweet and walked the strip in search of something divine. The sign on the window said SmallCakes A Cupcakery so I figured I’d won the lottery! Upon entering the empty estabIishment i first noticed that in addition to «specializing» in cupcakes, they had frozen yogurt as well with toppings and all just like in a usual frozen yogurt spot. The location is nice and big, super clean with an odd smell but looks clean nonetheless.
I immediately noticed a display of cupcakes, but that is all it was– just a display for show. There were only a handful of cupcakes available to choose from. The associate apparently was not as excited as I was. When asked about the flavors, she’d stay quiet as if she didn’t seem to know exactly or maybe was just afraid to talk. Whatever the case, the interaction felt strange. I asked for the favorite which she said was the guava and my friend grabbed the nutella. When I tried checking in, I noticed the business was not listed on Unilocal and asked if they were new, her answer was a simple «no» but again it was odd interaction– not the warm, friendly and bubbly personalities you expect to find in a cupcake shop. She seemed annoyed and just disinterested altogether.
Location was great, presentation is great but taste… meh– not so good. The cake part felt a little stale; not fresh and not moist. I got to take a bite out of the nutella only to feel the same disappointment. My friend agreed this was not the best cupcake far less the best cupcakery experience. Frosting wasn’t bad but again I was expecting more from the batter.
This establishment is located in one of the busiest strip malls in Doral. It’s almost impossible to find parking and its got tons of people however the place is empty and its exactly the way I felt walking out of there… empty! No hidden gem, no new discovery; just a random frozen yogurt shop with stale little cupcakes.
