I’d have to say my biggest complaint would have to be the signage. I drove around what seemed like forever looking for the volleyball area. I finally found a worker in a golf cart who tells me they have no volleyball and that I must be in the wrong park! Clearly she has no idea… volleyball area is located behind the tennis courts fyi! Use to play little league here back in the day. Some time later started hoopin on the outdoor courts. This park is more built for the diamond there’s a batting cage on the west end and plenty of vendors around. In the spring time they host the Dade county youth fair.

It is terrible to go to a park and see trash everywhere. I am appalled this is the way we care for our city. The park grass is not your ashtray and believe it or not, you can throw your fast food wrappers in the trash cans. They have plenty of them! Miamians — this is your town. Care for it. Treat it with love. Pick up your trash! We are here a lot now watching my son play ball. I bring a bag and pick up our area. All I need now if the orange jump suit.

Tamiami Park is a decent place. I still run here once and a while. In the late 90s early 2000s this was the place were my friends and I play flag football consistently every Saturday morning. Now, the fields are so messed up and rocky. The positives: It has plenty of baseball fields. The lights are decent and there are always a lot of people weekday nights with so many games going on. One part of the park has nice grass and there also have soccer fields. There are plenty of parking spaces. The negatives: There is one full basketball court and the rims are just okay. A lot of wear and tear as time passes. The best grass is sandwiched between baseball fields and the pop warner field. Its tough just to find a place to throw a football around because there plenty of kids practicing for flag football. The soccer fields are closed when I’ve been to Tamiami Park. I used to play football on the grass where The Fair parking is. I think the parking was always there but over time it has gotten much much worse. Now there five foot wide gravel lines marking spaces. The turf is crappy and has lots of rocks and shards of glass from so many cars driving over it. Due to that we don’t play football here anymore. Why not play in the good grass, where the baseball fields are? Maybe its bad timing but for some the times I’ve gone on the weekends those fields are closed to keep it in good condition for baseball as the sprinklers are turned on, and there are signs that read keep off.
