This store had a booth at the Kendall farmers market, and I was glad that there exists a tea shop in this area. The shop does not open on weekends, only weekdays 9 – 7. So even after learning about it, took me a while to find the chance to visit. Walking in the space is very beautiful, with white furniture and lots of plants providing a comfortable, welcoming environment. Even the stools look like it’s made of white leather, so the owners did make an effort to create a nice space. On one wall lines many tin canisters of tea in different varieties. I was given a menu listing the tea, and was told that there are many more not listed — though without further explanation so I don’t know how to ask about them. I decide to just pick from list and selected a green with pineapple and mango. The staff let me smelled the tea and brewed it with a timer. Even though it was served in a paper cup, it was on a coaster and with a small cup of blueberries. The 12 oz cup of tea is $ 3.30, and I was charged 25 cents for honey(which I wasn’t aware of when she asked if I want any honey or sugar), so with tax it came out to almost $ 4. It’s not cheap, but it’s hand brewed with loose leaf. A hand brewed coffee or latte is around the same price, I suppose, more expensive than pouring from a pot. And according to the menu there are 4 sizes, the smallest is probably around 6 or 8 oz. One problem is the staff speak very little English, so communication is an issue. I understand that I can buy the looseleaf too, but there is no price displayed. I would recommend printing an updated list of their tea, with prices, to help customers make their selection. It’s more like a 3.5 experience, but I think they are kind of new and still working out the kinks. The staff was spending a lot of time looking around for things to make my tea…
