This was around December 2009. I passed by that place many times and never got the chance to see what the big deal was. It’s right next to the hearing aid place. The menu showed the list of what healthy eat I would want in a mid range price to a little pricey. The place wasn’t that busy. There was a couple of women with their kids from middle school when I got there. I waited my turn as I scanned the menu. Another person came around and really didn’t take her time to greet me and just asked what she would get for me. I had their mini cup of yogurt in Pistachio. It was yogurt in a colder version, without any chunks. It tasted good, not too sweet in an overpowering way. I kind of felt rushed, though, and there wasn’t even anyone behind me. It was only 4 pm and I was looking at the menu one more time to see if I wanted any side dish again, but I decided that I’d come back some other time when they’d be «less busy» doing something in the back. They should keep a bell next to their cash register or something. ;P

I want to give That Cool Café five stars from the beginning just because of their extremely fast delivery and getting the order right. The other day while at home working, I started craving something healthy and remembered seeing That Cool Café in Aventura. I found their website online and chose their Southwest salad minus some toppings and plus some more. My salad arrived exactly the way I requested it and I don’t think they took more than 10 – 15 minutes to deliver my food. My overall experience was great. I can’t wait to visit their restaurant and try some more options.

Im getting FAT! So what better way to start off my new diet with a healthy place. The location here is in the back behind the publix and chef allen. The décor inside is filled with bright colors, and the outdoor seating continues the theme with bright orange and blue furniture. The food: i ordered the rodeo drive wrap. It has baked chicken, avocado, corn, havarti cheese with citrus chipotle dressing. It wasnt bad! i love havarti cheese and the avocado and chipotle dressing doesn’t hurt either. I also got the frozen yogurt plain style with strawberries on top. The fruit is fresh, and the yogurt was good, but not great. The yogurt needs to be more tart. Much better frozen yogurt can be found in the bloomingdales at aventura mall at the 40 carats café. See the pics i took for what the food looks like. Price: On the high side, especially for the frozen yogurt. The base price of a regular frozen yogurt is 3.30.this includes NO toppings. 1 topping is an extra dollar. So the costs can pile up for just a regular sized frozen yogurt. The wrap was decently priced at $ 8, but also could be lowered. total for lunch was 13 something. Pretty pricey. Overall: 3 star food, but 4 star for healthy food. 2 star price 4 star service. Avg: 3 stars I’ll return for the wraps. and the free wifi.

Solid healthy lunch place. Delivery is quick and they always get the order right. They will do special orders for you which is nice if you are on a special diet. Love the Rodeo Drive wrap and the smoothies are fantastic. I have never been but i order from them 3 – 4 times a week.

That Cool Café is one of the few places that strictly offer diet-friendly, healthy food. They have different flavors of frozen yogurt every day, although some flavors are offered all the time. Some flavors are low calories, sugar-free, low-fat, fat-free, kosher or all 4. If you pop in there for a low-carb panini, don’t leave without trying the yogurt. It’s so tasty, especially the peanut butter flavor. You’d never guess it was low-cal. Pour some of their sugar-free caramel on it and it’s ridiculous how much I enjoy it. The smoothies sound really good too, although I’ve never had them. They also have a big salad bar with varying selections including artichokes, which you don’t find at very many salad bars and it happens to be a must for me. Although they are a bit pricy for the kind of food, it’s worth it for the calories you’re saving if you’re on a diet or just trying to stay healthy. The service is a hit or miss. Sometimes they have a super attentive cashier, other times, they’re kind of rough around the edges. If you go, make sure to start their free«cool card.» With every purchase you rack up points and then you get free goodies. I haven’t been there enough times to start seeing my rewards, but I’m sure looking forward to that first free peanut butter caramel frozen yogurt!

A very cute and cozy hangout to enjoy healthy snacks. I tried the peanut butter yogurt with sprinkles and i devoured it in seconds. The fact that it’s fat free is an added bonus. They offer free wifi and plenty of couches to hang out in. Next time, I’ll try something from their smoothie menu for sure. But if you want a delicious dessert, try any of their yogurt flavors. They’re to die for… but you won’t, cause they’re fat free!

I don’t think I’ve ever found the need to write a THIRD update on my original review of That Cool Café, but there’s a first for everything. How do I put this… there was a piece of plastic wrapping in my favorite wrap, the Rodeo Drive. A long, stringy piece of plastic that I’m very glad I noticed before I took another bite. I’m kind of sitting here hoping I didn’t digest any, but in case I die, I wanted you all to know. :( Anywho — the food is still delicious. However, my coworkers and I have been discussing and it seems as though the customer service has been on a decline since they opened. They take forever to make your food, even when the place is somewhat empty. They used to cut my wrap in half… today I received a big fatty wrap and had to carry that huge thing into my mouth. I really wanted to keep the original five stars I gave them, but plastic in the food is really, really hard to forgive.

Leaving SlimYogurt on 163 I had thought I had found my new yogurt shop. That was until I saw the grand opening of That Cool Café. I love openings and found myself walking inside to check out what they had. They not only had the same yogurt I had fallen in love with in New York, but they served salads, sandwiches and they even make killer smoothies out of the yogurt! I have run into very random people at this cool place, showing its for everyone, while proving its become quite the hit. At times when I’m in the mood for yogurt, I stop by here; however I find myself having lunch here on the regular! Some recommendations; Wraps: Hotel California, Rodeo Drive or if in the mood for tuna, try the Pacific Coast. Smoothies: South Peach or my favorite the Mango-Tango. Make your own salad, you can’t go wrong. Although I only touched on a couple of items, friends of mine can agree just about anything you order, you’ll happily finish and love. I’d keep on with this review, but I just got very hungry; this cool guy is headed to That Cool Café!

Went back a few more times– while I still really enjoy this café and it is better than most of my work-lunch options, I was less impressed last few times. The customer service is definitely starting to lack. I had the pita bread missing from my appetizer of tuna and pita bread(highly crucial), the food takes a little long to make(only have 1 hour lunch) and for some reason, paying for your food is always a big ordeal(there’s always a line, no one really knows how to use the register yet, and it just takes a really long time to ring me up) While I still enjoy this place, I wanted to retrieve my 5 stars since I think it went to their head too much and I like to see them work for it a little more– perhaps improve on the customer service.

At the end of the day, customer service is what prevails. While I still enjoy this place and want so much to love it, I just can’t. I’ve been putting this update off for far too long now… in hopes that it was just a fluke. After several times, here goes… Sat waiting for my order while my party received theirs… and almost finished eating before my order came. Strike one. I understand that food has to be made but when people after you are receiving their orders first, somethings wrong. Regarding yogurt, I was okay with being charged for my toppings but to skimp on it also? NOTCOOL, strike 2. Yogurbella has 3 toppings of your choice that are included automatically and they definitely respect the fruit to yogurt ratio. Also, I would like to see more of a variety of toppings. Oh, and what’s up with not wanting to give out Rewards Cards to everyone? I mean, really. It’s only making us come back more if we have it. I know the employees work hard to get everyone’s orders out and to have them all pay, but there has to be a better system. The process they have now just takes way too long to do anything. Strike 3.

Any chance of me bringing my own lunch to work to save money just went straight out the door after the glorious food i just consumed. I am sitting here, stuffed to death, anxiously waiting for my stomach to stop hurting so i can go finish my yogurt. I got the tuna platter, which came with a heaping scoop of tuna, plenty of cherry tomatoes, and spinach leaves, along with a full size pita that was heated and toasted. Needless to say i cleared my plate. Carbs and all. I also got a regular size yogurt in almond which was a bit sweet but amazing with 2 toppings — yogurt bites and raspberries. They kind of skimp on the toppings but if you ask for some on the side they will give them to you. The toppings can get pricey but its worth it. If you have any self control they have a «mini» size for yogurt as well. I went with Elizabeth V, Robyn C, & Maya G so be sure to check out their reviews for more goodness. **UPDATE** It pains me to do this — but — you know that«subway smell» that infiltrates you after you leave… That Cool Café has left its mark. in my belly, my taste buds… and unfortunately my hair and clothes. The food was way too delicious for this to knock it down to 4 stars b/c of this, but something to note(also got it to go, so not sure how it would have been if we stayed there to eat…)

Found a place to fix my breakfast craving late night! Waffles, waffles, waffles: eat them! Yummy! Fresh waffles served with anything you want from whipped cream to honey. The best waffles I have had in the area. I also tried an egg panini & it was good not great but good. I also tried the peanut butter frozen yogurt and it was very tasty! They also have Wi-Fi here. Friendly cute little place with tons of options for adults and kids. Oh and its not expensive which is always good.

Despite the fact that the first few reviews on here appeared to be Flelp… I did read Vanessa’s review and as I work in the area, decided to go here for a sammich fix instead of to Publix deli. Always good to check out the new guy right? The café itself is clean, the ice cream toppings and salad items in the coolers on display are fresh, and crip and tidy. The staff are friendly. There are about 6 or 7 tables for two. Great selection of salads(chopped, tossed or wrapped), and panini’s and wraps with sides like Edamame, Baked Sweet Potato or regular baked potato and Soup. OOh… and hot waffles made to order. Lost a star for selling me «The Central Park Gardens, Veggies only! a toasted Panini with Spinach Leaves, Artichoke Hearts, Broccoli, Avocado, roasted peppers, sprouts, feta cheese with Greek feta dressing» but only giving me a toasted Panini with Spinach Leaves, roasted peppers, sprouts, feta cheese with Greek feta dressing. Ok…the lady did say they had no avocado… but obviously no broccoli or artichoke hearts either. A little disappointing but I’ll get over it I guess. The sandwich came with a small container of «cool» slaw. Nice non-gloopy coleslaw with raisins’s and orange bits. They deliver for $ 1.50 charge and a $ 10 minimum. Yes, I’ll go back. But I’ll be checking my order before I leave.

We happened to stumble upon this place while taking the back roads to the Aventura Mall. It’s a new café hidden behind a fairly busy strip mall — but its a gem for those who are into healthier foods. That Cool Café offers everything from breakfast items to smoothies, salads, paninis, wraps and more. I was craving a frozen yogurt and decided on their white raspberry flavor. It was very good — not too sweet but with just the right amount of raspberry flavor. They also have fresh fruit toppings(a la SlimYogurt). For a medium size yogurt and two toppings it was around $ 5 — about what you’d pay at Cold Stone(I think). I definitely plan on coming back to try a few of their other options — especially the smoothies because the closest Jamba Juice is a little too far for my liking.
