I had seen their truck advertising their«famous» pork sandwich for years. But I never heard anyone talk about them and I lived quite far away so I never stopped. Having just moved to the area in April it was atop my list of new places to try. I’ve already been 3 times and plan many more trips. I always grab food to go. The pork sandwich is deliciously simplistic. Perfectly seasoned, moist shredded pork is piled on cuban bread then pressed. They make chicharron fresh daily. Small Cuban style tamales are mostly corn meal but still awesome. The place is always steady and a fan with the local police officers. Especially their coffee from the walk up window. Service is extremely friendly, even more so by Miami standards of service. Parking is usually a breeze. Only question is… why aren’t more foodies talking about this sandwich in Miami??? If it was in Wynwood(there is a restaurant of no relation there called the Butcher Shop) people would lose their minds, there would be numerous articles and news cast praising their dishes, and lines would be out the door. and down the block… lucky for me, they are not.

If you’re looking for a legit Cuban place, come to this restaurant! It’s a small, hole-in-the-wall place with a couple of seats and cafeteria style food. You can smell it long before you reach the front door and it had me salivating. There is no menu so if you’re unfamiliar with the foods, just ask the workers and they are more than happy to give an explanation. I got the ribs with rice and beans and yucca. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and so flavorful. Probably one of the best ribs I’ve ever eaten. The yucca was simply done by delicious. My friends ordered shredded pork and roast pork, and they did not disappoint! The skin of the roast pork was deliciously crispy and the meat was juicy. It reminded me of the Chinese roast pork I happily ate as a child. The shredded pork was also tender and well seasoned. Everyone says to go to Versailles to get authentic Cuban food, but I’ve had both and would suggest this place over Versailles.

We were looking for some Picahna as our out-of-town friends really wanted to experience it. I looked up The Butcher Shop on Unilocal and decided to give it a try as we were not in the mood to drive to north Miami or place an advanced order at the supermarket. To our surprise, this tiny little market had some great quality Picahna and the butcher even seasoned the meat for us! The price was reasonable and the meat was delicious! Great place for your next barbecue!

Pan con Lechon, Cubans sandwich, yucca, morros, all wonderful. Order for one and eat for two or three. Great catering also.

Great customer service from David, the butcher… He asked what I was looking for as if he was a stylist for my dinner plans, listening intently while gears turned in his head to prepare the best advice for a cut that would satisfy and not break the bank. He even went as fast as describing how he’d prep and cook the cut, tailor the portions for the number of guests, and then deftly and expertly served up and wrapped beautifully marbled, inch-thick steaks that’s I would just as soon frame as braise and broil for a savory, succulent dinner.

This place while a tiny hole in the wall that’s in a not so fancy strip mall has some incredible food! Portions are huge Jethro sized portions! Just wish they had arroz con pollo everyday! Pork is very good! Sandwiches are always fresh made to order and great! Friendly staff treat you like their children! While they do have a small counter to eat at it is Really for to go orders only. Catering menu is excellent! Highly recommend!

Clean Carniceria! I absolutely love buying their churrascos for cookouts, their desserts-flan is my fav, and when I can, I stop by and pick up a quick meal for me to go. You can taste the homemade ingredients in the food. The owner and David are awesome people, and the staff are very cordial. I high recommend their Cuban bread, also.

The pan con lechon had good flavor and the Cuban bread was soft, fresh and perfectly toasted. The size of the sandwich is enough for sharing but can easily be eaten by one person and in my opinion it is reasonably priced at $ 5.99. Although I have had better, if you are craving a pan con lechon, I would recommend this place; it was pretty good. Now about the location, this establishment looks more like a «Cuban» cafeteria than a butcher shop but they do sell meats so I guess the name is appropriate.

Great place to cater parties from. Order less than you think you need. Portions are very large but amazing. Always a hit at parties.

Great place for sausages and hotdogs. Meats lovers welcomed. Had their half chicken on some sweet Asian sauce. I liked but too much sauce. Side of potatoes which were really good. As an appetizer I had the beets and feta cheese salad it’s was tiny but tasty.

Thanks Mike Levine for recommending this place. It only took you 14 years for a good place! This place is located in a strip mall on US1 in Palmetto Bay. It a small Cuban cafeteria that’s has several prepared hot dishes and sides. Also has one of the best pan con lechon I have had in Miami! They cook traditional Cuban food and some American dishes as well. I have tried picadillo with white rice and sweet plantains. The picadillo had red and yellow peppers and cubed potatoes and was perfectly seasoned with a delicious sauce. The rice was cooked perfect. Not hard at all. I also have tried the pan con lechon. The pork is very tender and juicy. Not overwhelmed with the mojo they use. They chop up the pork with that crunchy skin and different cuts of pig. The Cuban bread compliments the pork. The bread to meat ratio is very small. You get alot of pork in the sandwich. The place it self is small with a few display counters and a bar with several stools to sit on. You place your order and then you pay. Prices are very cheap. You definitely won’t leave hungry!

Come here if you are ever in the Pinecrest area. They have the best pan con lechon! I always get mine with chopped pieces of chicharron inside of the sandwich. Service is fast there and they speak English! They have package deals on holidays. Check them out!

Le beau took me here after going to the eye doctors/christmas shopping. It is a small hole in the wall and has lunch food, catering, and raw meats you can buy. We ordered the pan con lechon and it was veryyyyy good. The best I have ever had. Most places I had it at the meat was dry and the sandwich was just plain. This one though very juicy and delicious. We also ordered 1lb of chicharones(sp?) very good fresh. Not healthy for you but it has the crispiness of the skin and some nice meaty parts too. Would come here again! No need to speak spanish either :)

What a nice find this place was! Serving sizes are massive, prices are low, and most importantly, the food is of good quality. I got their sausage with fried plantains and rice and beans as the sides. I have also had their media noche. All of these items are Miami staples and you can find some pretty good versions if you are looking. The versions at this particularly location are all above average. The media noche is one of my favorite versions I have found. Everything I have tried here has been quality. Also, my entire family ate here for under $ 20. Can’t beat that…

I’m sitting in my husband’s truck waiting for him to finish at the pool place when I spot a huge sign for the Butcher Shop. At that point, my tummy was growling anyway, so I did a quick search on Unilocal.Overall almost 5*. It has to be good right? We walk in, and it’s one of those places that you immediately want to walk out. But we persevered, because ya know, almost 5*. The food on display didn’t look very appetizing so we stuck with the Pan Con Lechon that everyone was raving about. Small or large? We decided to share a large. Large turned out to be about the size of everyone else’s small. The price was about $ 6. They serve it hot and pressed. It was okay, although a bit salty. Far from the best ever, but not bad. Typical Miami service. Not horrible just not very welcoming.
