Before I get started I want you to know that I signed up to Unilocal just to leave a negative feedback to this place. This is a restaurant/bar that you need to be very careful. because the bartenders are trying to steal your money. They will take advantage of you after you have a few drinks. First of on the day I went It was a Friday and all I had was 16 $ dollar cranberry vodka, 1 $ 8 Mojito, and shared with friends 10 chicken wings for $ 10 dollars.(note this is happy hour prices). well to my surprise when I go to pay the bartender doesn’t show me my detailed receipt, she shows me the receipt that has total amount which said 37.87 and an area for tips. The problem with this was first I was charged 2 cranberry & vodka, plus they added an incredible 18% tips(which they didn’t deserve). yet they dont let you know that.(they do this to purpose trick you into double tipping, and stealing from you on charging you for drinks that you didn’t have.) Remember its easy to trick or take an advantage of someone that had a few drinks. but what the bartender didn’t notice was that I wasn’t tipsy or drunk. So I asked another bartender for the full receipt and when he printed it I noticed the mistakes. So I asked my bartender to make corrections, and she tells me that«she thaught that she accidently pressed twice the first drink, but didn’t think it came out on the bill».(what B.S. is that!, if you thaught you should have verified it, then you should have given me the full receipt, not trash the full receipt and give me the one with the total + tips, to sign.) I can say I felt I was taken advantage of this place, and I would not go there ever again. Note: my friends had different tabs and they had different issues. in happy hour one asked for mojito just like me and was given the same drink, but they charged him more because they gave him a different rum(that’s more expensive and he didn’t ask). plus he did double tip! All I say if you go here look at your BILLVERYVERYCAREFUL. (after corrections I paid $ 30.30 for the whole experience!) Side note: Food & drinks were good. Drinks were not water down, and chicken wings were good.

Bro. This place is soooo freaking good. The place is called the hoxton, which is an awesome name by the way. No need to pick and choose what to eat, just get everything. It’s all good. Epic willy out.

Review for bar only. Seemed too southbeachy for me. Didn’t stay long but prices are not brickell friendly!

Never been more sad to be a regular at a place than I am tonight I don’t know why but I keep coming back to this place and every single time I wonder why. A beach house thats at the bottom of the an apartment building in the middle of brickell? No sand anywhere, ocean can’t be seen, the surrounding buildings/metrorrail don’t even let much sunshine What you do get in spades is single cell amoebas with legs and a raggedy beard wearing collared shirts opened way too low and then doubling down with a white t-shirt underneath and girls that spend a lot of money on make up with short arms Never had anything else but drinks here and some passed hors d’œuvre but they somehow messed up bruschetta so sorry that I am not excited to try the fish dip I really don’t know why I don’t like this place not everything is lollipops and rainbows

I really liked this place and I think it has a lot of potential. They definitely need a different DJ though. He was a mess… music was all over the place! One second you would be listening to salsa & the next he played The Twist and I’m really not exaggerating. Also, I guess it’s personal preference, but the music was waaaay too loud for my friends & I to the point we couldn’t even hear ourselves think. Drinks were slightly pricey but I guess that should be expected considering the location. Bartenders were very friendly and quick. Went on a Saturday & there was no cover for girls even after 12 There’s $ 10 valet which is unheard of in Miami. I’m definitely going back just to give it another chance since I don’t know if it’s always the same DJ, but really hope it’s not because that would be my last time there. Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros.

The first time I came here, I wasn’t that impressed. I had been to this location when it was the Lucky Clover, and it seems they just painted the wood white and hung up a lot of really weird ugly paintings. I also found the drinks to be somewhat expensive for a casual lounge in Brickell(I think I paid $ 8 – 9 for a Heineken?) However, I did like the vibe(pretty chill, full but not crowded) and the music was OK, so I decided to come back a few weeks later. The second time I came here, I decided I was never coming back. What the hell happened? We walked up on a Saturday night maybe around 11:30 and the place was slammed. We get to the front door and what does the bouncer say? «It’ll be $ 20». What? Really? At this place? I get the whole $ 20 cover thing at the clubs on the beach. I don’t like it, but I understand. But the whole point of hanging out at a lounge in Brickell is to get away from that type of douchey-ness. What I think happened is that it got really popular really fast and the proprietors decided that charging a 500% markup on drinks just wasn’t enough. Unfortunately, they ruined any appeal the place originally had by doing so. Beware the Hoxton’s weird identity crisis or it’ll cost you.

These sons of bitches didn’t let us in after we had an agreement as part of the pub crawl to attend. The bouncers are complete morons and said«we weren’t allowed in without heels or collar shirts» when the majority of us were dressed to code. Meanwhile, they let in some women wearing converse shoes. They are so full of shit. Do not go here. They are complete dicks and full of themselves.

Why? Because betrayal, that’s why. After assuming the space previously occupied by one of the many Brickell Irish pubs, Hoxton offered to patrons something different, something that, while still very Miami, tried to embody a different kind of Miami, a Miami where comfort in ambiance wouldn’t be sacrificed in the name of posturing. It was a nice change. It was nice to be able to sit on a couch or be tended to at the bar or walk to the bathroom without rubbing up against sweaty Miamian after sweaty Miamian. This was Hoxton in its first few months. Now, Hoxton is dead. Please believe me when I say that I’m not trying to be that annoying guy who only frequents places that have yet to become«popular» or trendy, that maddening string of hipsterism best embodied by Fred Armisen’s cyclist character in «Portlandia.» “Aw, come on! A guy like that is hanging out here? This bar’s OVER.“ No, I welcome hipsters and yuppies and posers and losers and smokers and drinkers and everyone under the sun to take part in something worth taking part in. I breathe diversity. I live for it. The problem isn’t the kind of people choosing to go to Hoxton. The problem is that Hoxton has decided to abandon the ideal under which it originally presented itself and has instead adopted the South Beach paradigm: play music at eardrum-bursting levels, pack the place with as many people as you can, and somehow have the audacity to charge twenty bucks for entry. Hoxton could very much have been a cool and inclusive place, one that focused on customer enjoyment and not the allure of the over-capacity, fire-hazard census. It baffles me that, considering the wealth of information available on the internet(and word-of-mouth), places don’t try to be different. I promise you that the place that chooses to forego the Miami stereotype will enjoy great success in that Unilocalers and casual patrons alike will conspire to keep it open for years and years and years. I guess it’s just easier to be lazy and unimaginative, to betray whatever thought prompted you to open a place like the Hoxton of months ago and betray the people who first enjoyed it.

I am torn on this review. I hosted a Happy Hour event here recently for an organization. The attendees loved the event, but as the organizer, I was a bit frustrated. Attendees: Cool, beachy vibe, which is perfect for a casual summertime networking happy hour. Everyone loved the extensive cocktail menu available for happy hour. Our group was also given a small corner just for us. Everyone at the event loved the venue. Organizer: The events woman at Hoxton was hot and cold. Sometimes she would answer emails within hours and other times it took up to 10 days! She claimed that my emails were going to her Spam… not sure I entirely buy that; I have never had problems with my emails going to someone’s Spam. Especially, when the email is a reply in a long string of emails. The plated group apps were insanely priced. It was $ 3 for one piece of bruschetta(its just tomatoes and bread!), $ 3 for a single quarter sized crab cake and $ 4 for a single meatball in a bun. I asked for the apps to come out at multiple times through out the evening so the food would always be available and fresh(cold/hot as required). The first batch of food was to come out at 6:45pm. Nothing appeared till 7:40pm and everything came together. When the food finally did appear, there were no napkins or plates served with the food, nor were the meatball sliders hot or the bruschetta cold. As a side note, I ordered the apps suggested by the events woman, in hopes that she would have known her kitchen and their best items. Clearly, not the case. Additionally, as the night wore on, I wish the second bar next door to where our group was seat would have been opened, so it would have been easier to order drinks. Alas. Bottomline: The happy hour drinks were awesome(most everything was $ 6 or less), but the food was a major bust, both in terms of price and quality. Also, Jack, the GM, worked really hard the night of the event, but was stretched thin.

All my friends have been raving about the Hoxton and now I know what the fuss is all about. It’s Saturday night… it’s a group of 6… just want drinks. Where to go you ask? THEHOXTON. First of all, expect first class treatment the minute you walk out of your car. Valet is $ 10 on a Saturday night which you know is unheard of in Miami. You get carded at the door but there’s no line which you know in Miami is unheard of. We went straight to the bar. The drink selection was pretty good. The drinks are a little pricey but typical for the area. There’s couches everywhere which is nice. But don’t expect to chat because the music is loud. The music selection was a perfect mix of the 80’s, 90’s and today. The décor was my favorite part of the night. You feel like you are in a boat house. You look out the tiny windows and almost forget that you are in Brickell. Did I mention that there are couches everywhere. You can dance your little feet until you are tired and then you can actually sit. Shocker I know! Why not 5 stars? It could be because I went on a Saturday night but at some point it got way to packed and the place itself is not very spacious. The upstairs area was closed. So 2 hours later 100 people packed in a spot meant for 10 in Florida weather=hot, sweaty, humid and muggy. That was my cue to go somewhere else. Overall I loved the Hoxton. I was impressed and will definitely be back. Maybe for a Friday night Happy Hour event.

Wow– this place is fabulous in every possible way. I heard about this gem through a friend and I am so happy I did! My girlfriends and I were in town for a bachelorette party. We were looking for a place with great food, drinks, and ambiance. I made a reservation for our group of 15 for Friday night and the staff was happy to accommodate us. Customer service was en pointe! The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the night, even after we had paid our bill. We felt welcomed and at home here. We had dinner and bottle service. Being such a big group, we asked our waiter to pick several dishes for us to share and he happily obliged. Everything tasted incredible, even to my critical L.A. foodie tongue. We devoured everything! Some of my personal faves: fish & chips, duck poutine, and burrata & meatballs. The bottle service was great too. We always had plenty of mixers, limes, and anything else we needed. The ambiance could not have been any better here. There is great energy! First off, the space is beautiful. It is obvious that a lot of thought went into every detail — both big and small. The décor and layout is fabulous. It’s a large space but feels very warm and cozy. The crowd was good looking, friendly, and fun! Their live band was very talented and kept the crowd dancing. My girlfriends and I had an absolute blast. If I lived in Miami, I’d be here all the time! It seems like it’d be a great place not only for groups on the weekends but dinner/drinks during the week as well. I’ll definitely be back when I return to Miami. The owners should think about opening a branch of The Hoxton in Los Angeles! :)

Nothing has changed since my last review. Same great food, same sexy ambiance, same Northeastern accents. But you know everything before«but» is bullshit. This casual, cosmopolitan beach house is perfect … but … only until 10:00. As the hours creep closer to midnight, the flashing strobe lights and music amplifiers turn up. Way up. The acoustics are awful, making it impossible to hear and the attempt to transform what could be a sophisticated lounge into a full-bottle nightclub is remarkably counterintuitive to the Hoxton’s early evening vibe. Sometimes you really can’t have the best of both worlds. Case in point.

The first time I went to The Hoxton was for a work-related event. I really liked the ambiance, the drinks were delicious and the staff super friendly. We sampled some of their food and everything was really good. Since then, I’ve been back with my husband many times. I love their drink menu I usually start with the Indigo Lady and end with the Honey Rider. We tasted pretty much the whole food menu and there was nothing we didn’t like! The last time we were there I noticed they added burrata to the menu as well as cheese and olives. We tried the burrata which they serve with meatballs and it was amazing! We are having friends in town next week and I’m definitely bringing them to The Hoxton!

Saturday night yearning for a drink but not sure where to go??? Solution the Hoxton. The vibe here is The Hamptons meets Miami. Dark, sexy and chic the Hoxton is multifunctional venue. Perfect spot for a flirty date, dim lights cushy sofas and champagne cocktails. Going out with friends? That works too, the main bar is a big square with white leather stools and a lot of open space. Too crowded? Worry not there’s also a second bar in the back area with additional intimate seating. And did I mention there’s an upstairs? Add in the DJ, music and lights and BAM what a fun evening!

Yes I am a fan. I am looking so forward to going back very soon. We had heard so much about this place we decided to give it a try. Loved the décor, chic modern, beachy, comfy, classy all in one. Who would have thought to see this in the pretentious Brickell. They have couches everywhere and super comfy white leather bar stools with a back. We sat at the bar. This particular night was slow with only a few people inside which was fine in my book. Our bartender was Armando and what an awesome guy. He handed us their happy hour specials that go til 8pm. They have four signature cocktails, wine and some food specials for their happy hour. I ordered the«Josh Cabernet Sauvignon which is their house wine and man I was happy. Full bodied, rich tannins, blackberry, touch of smoke with a smooth medium finish. We ordered some fish dip, wings, fries, pork and beans, and meatball sliders. The fish dip was the only item I did not care for. The meatball sliders had cheese on them, the buns were super fresh and they were great. The wings are spicy, yeah baby they make your lips pucker which is why I ordered fries cause my mouth was on fire but holy heck they were awesome. The fries are hand cut, some of the best I have tasted. Hubby enjoyed the pork and beans. Our service was excellent from Armando, he continuously refilled our water and my five glasses of wine and hubs four signature cocktails, which were all wonderful. They make some killer specialty drinks. He was super friendly talked to us quite a bit. He told us Friday nights are the younger crowd and on Saturday’s the age is from 30 and up. They get super crowded on the weekend. I was so relaxed. Enjoyed all the apps, my wine, the signature cocktails and the awesome company with such great service. This place is super cool and fun. My scene for sure. I am hoping and praying when I return I love it as much as my first. You know you never forget your first. Let’s please keep it awesome. Thanks for coming to Brickell. Finally another good place.

The new year took me, my husband, and my good friends Nicole A. and Nate M. to The Hoxton. Thanks to a last minute impulse to purchase vouchers on Gilt City, and some coazing from Jax G, we selected to party in the new year at The Hoxton. Neither of us had been there, so that evening we were really stepping blindly into a location we had no idea about. But at 18.00 bucks a head, we figured, why not? What resulted was easily one of the best New Year’s experiences of my lfie! From when we arrived we got the total VIP treatment: champagne, lite bites, etc. The boo and I shared their fish and chips from the bar menu and it was delicious! I also had some delicious cocktails from their bar menu, including the Honey Ryder, which was a smooth mix of bourbon, honey, fresh lemon, blackberries and rosemary. I had about two of these, and with the rest of the night fueled by the non-stop flow of Prosecco and the bangin tunes of Locos por Juana we welcome the new year in happy, fuzze haze of cheer and music unlike any other celebration I have ever been a part of. The crowd was perfect– everyone dressed in their New Year’s garb without any pretention or typical Miami attitude of holier-than-thou. It was classy by laid back, my kind of groove. Looking forward to many more nights at The Hoxton! Definitely hope it lasts.

The Hoxton rocked so hard. So I’m from Massachusetts. Boston is my hometown. So when I saw this place being branded as new england in miami… first my heart skipped a beat… and then the new england skepticism came forward… so the honey and I went to check it out. Inside… very cape cod with the white washed walls and the driftwood décor… and the mix of high end and shabby chic style… definately a fan. it’s an amazing space… full of comfy couches. this is going to sound weird… but all of the former teeny boppers out there will know exactly what i mean when i say this… it felt like we were at the bait shop from the OC. really great live music until 11… and then dj andres amadeus came on and he really was awesome. now the food… we had only two dishes that night… the duck poutine… which i think its one of the best things to eat in miami… was ridiculous and sweet and savory and tender and fabulous all at the same time. last few bites had some hardened cheddar … but you know what… cheese is fabulous in every form… it really was a stellar dish. i will order that every single time. now… as a new englander … i have to say… i was not impressed in the least with the lobster roll. we have a word for lobster rolls that rely too much on the mayo… «globster rolls.» there wasn’t any element of crunch in this roll… not from chives… not from celery… not from scallions… and there was next to no citrus in the mix. and it needs to be served with pickles! i wasn’t happy that it seemed like the crunch was supposed to be supplied by the big piece of romaine in the bun… that’s not what it’s all about. and please toast the bun like you mean it! if you want to be a piece of new england… get our signature dish right … please! the gin and tonics(with a splash of st. germaine) were… phenominal… one of the best drinks i’ve ever gotten at a bar… and i got three consecutive excellent drinks in a row(hey! no judging). it was… amazing. and they have some great local beers which really impressed the honey. now give us some extra items on the menu… a solid burger… some clam and jalepeno flat bread… some apple cider based drinks(maybe a cider sangria or a hot toddy?), something cranberry based… maybe a dish of fried clams… then we’re talking. for real love this place. can’t wait to come back this weekend… but let’s get that menu a little more boston style! :).

Visited the Hoxton a week ago with a good friend, also Elite. I never went to Lucky Clover, but the new design and décor was nice and different to say the least; a very attractive concept indeed. I found The Hoxton very welcoming to the already-Irish-packed Brickell Area. That evening ~3 drinks from the cocktails menu were featured on happy hour. We both ordered the«Honey Ryder». An interesting mixture made with: bulliet bourbon, honey, fresh lemon, blackberries, and rosemary. I found it very sour… perhaps less lemon would make it tastier. For food, we shared the New England Clam Bake. I love Clam Bake so my expectations were high based on their theme and marketing hype. A skillet is served with lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, grilled corn, and red potatoes. The seafood was seasoned just right. Lobster was ‘meaty’ and served whole with clarified butter. Shrimps are presented in ‘peel-n-eat’ style, which I absolutely hate. I like shrimps to be cleaned and ready-to-eat… they were meaty though, which I enjoyed. While I enjoy finger eating, shrimp is not one of those foods I want to labor with. The mollusks were perfect, and so were the corn on the cob and potatoes. Corn was incredible tasty and potatoes were cooked perfectly too. Moist– with an outer crunch. Yum! Dessert was ok. The cobbler is a must. On the other hand, forget the cheesecake. Overall, The Hoxton could become a very popular hangout place in Brickell. While cocktails need a little work, good food and a nice ambience may bring more people in weeks to come.
