Thrifty Rent A Car

Car was filthy. They con you into buying a week pass for the tolls. Keys are banded together which defeats the purpose and makes them bulky. Checkout was extremely fast and car was newer. Only two positives

I rented a car for a week and they are sending me bills for 15 dollars of administrative fee for each toll. We are not talking about big tolls here, just .7 or .23 tolls PLUS 15 dollars administrative fee EACH. They say I signed the contract that allows that. I say I didn’t in the first place because I took the 20 dollars (!!!) daily fee for tolls initially, but then my friends in Miami told me I would never spend that much in tolls, so when I returned the car I declined the 20 dollars daily toll fee back dimming it unfair. Yes, 20 dollars daily fee! At that moment, they said: ok, just sign here and go. BUT DIDN’T SAY ABOUT THE 15 DOLLARS CHARGE FOR EACH TOLL that they would send me later. It’s not fair because Miami does not allow for you to pay the toll by yourself. I say if those are the conditions, they should tell you upfront when you make the reservation! So you can really estimate how much you will have to pay daily, because the cost ALMOST DUPLICATES the cost of the rental. I tried to complain calling to their customer service but they say they transfer it to another company, and the other company just wants to charge me. I wish I knew before renting. No road trip for me.

How bad they are… well the worse… they try to scam us at the airport raising a reservation price by four and then nobody is answering at the call center …the best part customer service… for the fun of it we have try them four time… first they are open only monday to friday then in every phone call we have made we were transfert to at least 4 to 5 agent who had no clue to end up nowhere… So yes this is the worse rental company …

Called AHEAD of time to verify that when I booked a CONVERTIBLE. .I would indeed get a convertible. When I approached the counter the RUDE, unfriendly customer service representative notified me that there were no convertibles available. It was ONLY after I began to show my irritation and ask for a manager that suddenly a convertible appeared from out of the sky. When I made my way down to the lot, I noticed at least a dozen other convertibles available.
LAST time I rent from Thrifty.

Do not rent here. Was just told that it’s going to take 45 mins. to an hour wait to get the vehicle. Waiting in an underground parking station is not cool. Literally.

I’ve used several car rentals businesses in the past, some were great and some were ok but no company ever came close to how bad this company is. Thrifty or what call them «Thief-​Ty» is the worst car rental Company I have ever dealt with.
It all started when I booked a car online through their website for a one day car rental for a total of $ 42 dollars. When I picked it up I was never told about the crazy fees they add to your final bill when you drop off the car. My final bill when I went to return the car was $ 129.
When I arrived at West Palm Beach Airport at noon, I went straight to their car rental counter location at the airport, to my surprise, the only counter that had no customers and had a sign asking customers to take a shuttle bus to their off-​site location outside of the airport was this «Thief-​Ty» car rental.
At the off-​site location, I presented a copy of the print out from my original reservation online to the rude and obnoxious representative who looked miserable. He started to give me the sales pitch about everything they offer, from GPS to the infant car seat. I declined all. Finally, I was ready to pickup the car.
The car was filthy and had a strong smoke odor and few burn marks on the seats. But since I wasn’t going to live in it for the rest of my life and needed it for only one day, I didn’t feel like making a big deal about it and moved on.
Upon returning the car to this location in Miami, which was the same location I had selected during the online reservation booking, I was handed a new bill for a $ 129. The bill had all types of codes and numbers next to the charges and when I asked what the codes and charges are no one seemed to know. Although, one of the workers told me customers complain all the time about the differences in prices from booking online to final bill and that only customers that pay attention to the final bill come to customer service counter to complain. I asked to speak to a supervisor or a manager and I was told by the same worker that I’m better off contacting their customer service hotline since the location manager «Victor» never comes down to assist customers. I waited more than an hour to speak to someone on the customer service hotline and I finally hanged up and called my credit card company to dispute the charges.
There are plenty of other car rental companies, do yourself a favor and go with another company and save yourself the headache and aggravation you’ll get by booking your car rental through this «Thief-​Ty»
The same company also owns Dollar car rental, so beware of those scammers.

Pathetic Service. They kept waiting us for 2 hours in the middle of the night. Initially, they tried forcibly giving us a van when we had actually booked premium car. Avoid this garbage of a place.
