We were passing through on the way back from Globe and we remembered seeing a roadside stand selling jerky so we stopped and wandered among the boats and trailers for sale. The jerky stand is actually in front of the trading post and probably what actually gets people to stop because the Trading Post is further back off the main road and is a bit obscured and not as eye catching as a roadside vendor. So they have that kind of symbiotic relationship going — jerky man is the draw and if you want more go into the trading post. Jerky guy is from Vermont and has all sorts of jerky — not just beef but elk, wild boar, venison with both regular and hot/spicy varieties of each. We hung out for a bit for a little old school small town news report from other folks that passed by the bridge just east of the place where all traffic was stopped because some guy tried was about to jump before he got stopped by police officers and taken away. So we went into the trading post which is perfect if you want snacks or pop. Ended up getting some Klondike bars for the road and a few used items they had for sale — place has books, records, DVDs, old computer games, Jesus lip balm, and all sorts of other things that may or may not catch your eye. Parking — plenty of parking in the dirt right past or just before the jerky stand.
