Very professional. When our beloved grandmother passed, my family used the services that this funeral home has to offer. The staff is very professional and they’ll hold the doors open for you
But I must say there was so much drama and heartache when it came to a slide show my family wanted to create (to be presented at the service). When my sister in law wanted to give them more photos for it they pretty much have her an attitude over the phone and created a debacle when our family was already grieving for their loss.
The day of the wake and funeral service things were nicely prepared and set up. Everything looked nice and neat. When it came time to leave you can tell the staff was getting a bit impatient about the fact that we still had people saying their goodbyes to our grandmother. We honestly felt rushed toward the end. There was a young lady that worked there and she was probably the nicest of them all.
Now the day of the funeral service was also nice and organized, but when it came time to take down flowers and bring them with us one particular woman that worked there was not very polite. She was quite brash and everything was pretty much a no go. You can’t do this, you can’t do that, park here, don’t step on the grass, no we can’t lend you scissors because you’ll break them… I pretty much let all these things slide because I did not want to deal with her. There was a young gentleman that would offer to help me take down the flowers and I appreciated this… but I was so annoyed by the other lady that I just didn’t want help from anyone.
Despite all this drama they still did a pretty nice job but I just think they could’ve handled other situations in a different way.

Losing someone we love, is very difficult.
We learned this recently, with the passing of our youngest child.
My husband and I lost our daughter, stillbirth. And while putting our daughter to rest was by far the painful experience, ever, Van Orsdel made this process a bit easier for us.
The staff is very professional. The location is clean, nicely decorated, and pleasant.
I recommend this funeral home with my eyes closed.
We choose cremation, turnaround time was within two weeks, and they even offered to mail death certificate so that I wouldn’t have to go back again (once to pick up the remainings, another for death certificate).
As for cost, they are competitive. They have something for every budget.
Side note: When it comes to children, they have a special fund to help with cost. From what was explained to us, they understand that losing a young child is very painful and unexpected. I believe they knocked off about 1k from cost.
Losing a child is an indescribable pain, and addicting to that and it also takes a toll on finances, as cost was about 30k between autopsy of child, hospital stay etc. I can say that Van Orsdel lending us a hand, by reducing cost, really helped. We are forever grateful.
